Prince Charles wants a WWII against climate change

From Breitbart:

Prince Charles compared the challenge of tackling climate change to the Allies’ struggle in World War II during a speech to business leaders Tuesday.

Addressing representatives from firms including Barclays Bank, British Airways and Rolls-Royce at Saint James’s Palace, Charles said that “we need to act very rapidly indeed” to avert environmental disaster.

“We can do it, just think what they did in the last war. Things that seemed impossible were achieved almost overnight,” the heir to the throne added.

Charles has long harboured a passionate interest in green issues — he has described climate change as “the biggest threat to mankind” while facing criticism that his own lifestyle does not match his rhetoric.

Hmm, I understand why he says it would be better that that threat would have been issued against Prince Charles (left after being crowned as Prince of Wales).

I guess he will be spreading this new WW against climate change to Mars, as it is heating very rapidly and scientists consider it could lose the ice cap very quickly (h/t But that’s just my opinion).

Radical & Jailed Cleric Cries About His Deportation From the UK

Abdullah El-Faisal, who called for the killing of Jews, Westerners, Hindus and the rest of the unbelievers, even with chemical weapons, now is demanding that he be allowed to stay in Great Britain when he is released from jail.

El-Faisal was the first Muslim cleric to be prosecuted in the British criminal courts over the contents of his radical preachings.

Now… Sugiero is reporting that this radical cleric who has called for exterminating Westerners is crying about his deportation when he is released from jail. He claims it is a human right’s violation!

More hypocrites

I have been commenting about Al Gore’s house, his carbon offsets’ firm and about his non-commenting about Algeciras’ ecological disaster. Reading Pommygranate, I learn these other interesting news:

Big Al also has a 4,000 sq foot home in Arlington, Virginia and a third home in Carthage, Tennesse.

Gore also controls the family’s large stock holdings in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum – hardly the most eco-friendly holding.

Gore also owns a private jet. Tofly a private jet from Los Angeles to Washington would burn about as much petroleum as driving a Hummer for a year. During the period Jan 99 to Dec 00, Al made 16 flights on private jets.

Hmm, yes he is very concerned about global warming…

Anyway, his fans have called the Tennessee Center for Policy Research (the one who disclosed the great electrical expenditure in Al Gore’s 1st room solution) and:

Conspiracy theorists have made up all sorts of stories about us, who we are and who we are backed by,” Ms. Williams says. (…) Personally, I have been asked ‘whose whore are you?’ I have been called ‘a stupid redneck,’ ‘liar,’ [and some profane names]. I have also been told that I ‘had better watch out.’ People have posted personal information about us individually on the Web.” (via Desde El Exilio -en español-).

Yes, of course, they were in the legitimate use of their freedom of expression… Yes, yes, yes,… menacing is freedom of expression. Or no? Well, now seriously, for these Neanderthals -not people who actually care for environment and tries to convince you with arguments-, it depends on the people to whom they are menacing, not in the menace itself. I would like to see this super-brave-environmental-Rambos in the opposite situation. That is, if a fundamentalist-against-climate-change would menace them, what would be their actual answer? And the MSM…

And the second one is that British Crown Prince Charles -I am not going to insult him…-. Some days ago, when he was in United Arab Emirates, he made some comments:

Charles’s comments came while visiting the Imperial College London Diabetes Center in Abu Dhabi for the launch of a public health campaign, Britain’s Press Association news agency reported.

“Have you got anywhere with McDonald’s? Have you tried getting it banned? That’s the key,” Charles asked one of the center’s nutritionists, according to the news agency.

The Prince’s interest is not mainly the health of UAE citizens, but his own -en español- (HT: Barcepundit):

Then there are people who are blaming the computers for the global warming -en español-, while at the same time surfing the Web all the day and placing their own webblog in the Internet and seeing films on the new super-mega PC with Windows Vista and having a mega-great Blackberry to be in touch with their friends all day. Of course, if they do that, it is because it is needed. If any other one does the same, blaspheme!!!

Al Gore, además de la casa que gasta en un mes más de lo que gasta una familia americana en electricidad en un año, tiene otra mansión de 4.000 pies cuadrados (ejem, tengo que buscar cuánto es esto… 😉 ), controla la importante parte familiar de la empresa petrolera Oxy Petroleum y tiene un jet privado con el que ha hecho al menos 16 viajes entre Dic 99 y Enero 200 (cada viaje en jet privado de Los Angeles a Washington gasta tanto como conducir un Hummer en un año -para que luego la Ministra de Medio Ambiente quiera prohibirlos…).

A former Canadian defense minister is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change, a local paper said Wednesday

Al Gore:

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh-more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Al Gore has a rare manner of fighting the climate change.

The EU Smoking ban (UPDATED)

The other day I wrote about some bans which had been considered (or passed) by Spanish and EU Governments.

Looks like EU legislators are disobeying their own smoking ban:

“A complete ban started on January 1. In practice this was not working too well, people were not obeying it,” said a press officer for the EU parliament in Strasbourg.

The vote comes two weeks after the EU’s Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou said he would seek a comprehensive ban on smoking in public places across the bloc’s 27 member countries.

“It certainly is an odd message. Everywhere else in the world, smoking bans are respected,” said a second parliament official.

Very coherent.

Los eurodiputados, coherentes que son ellos, aprobaron un Ley prohibiendo fumar excepto en los espacios reservados. Pues bien, la están incumpliendo….

“Es ciertamente un mensaje extraño. En cualquier otro lugar del mundo, las prohibiciones de fumar son respetadas”, añadió un funcionario del Parlamento.

Me pregunto qué pasaría si eso ocurriera en un bar. La multa que les iba a caer…

And then I find in Le Mount de Sysiphe that EU wants all European countries to apply commonly the smoking ban in the public places. It would not be a directive allowing each country to decide how they will do it, but only a common recommendation.

People should fulfill this ban as the EU legislators… 😉

Básicamente, la Unión Europea quiere aprobar una recomendación común para que en los 27 países de la UE se prohíba fumar en los lugares públicos. ¿A que suena cómico? Cuando menos…
