Some “experts on negotiation“, that Spanish Reuters edition qualifies as “cautious“, are asking why we don’t negotiate with Al-Qaeda (in Spanish), because “history shows that the extremist movements are better neutralised using negotiation and not force“.

Specially dedicated for them this video:

See how Hitler answered to negotiations?? This is what Annakin Skywalker, in Chapter II: The Attack of the Clones, before being Darth Vader, calls “aggresive negotiations“, so aggresive that in fact was WWII.

The article also states:

  1. There are also rational ingredients in Al-Qaeda, but it also attracts psycos” (Of course, every rational and normal human being is inclined to commit suicide bombing… CryingNot talking).
  2. The negotiator, Jan Egeland, is a reknown anti-Israeli Norwegian, who claims having taken part in secret negotiations between Israel and PLO, Colombian “guerrilla leaders” (that is, FARC) and in Uganda (Lord’s Resistance Army: 20,000 children abducted to serve as soldiers or as sex toys, 12,000 killed directly by war, plus the non-accounted by desertification, illnesses…). All conflicts have been solutioned as you see.
  3. Al Qaeda is not an organization, it’s an idea“. You see? That’s why thinking is not good for your health, because ideas can kill you. Angry
  4. Al Qaeda wants to restore the Muslim Global Caliphate“. How on earth can be restored something that has never existed before?

In the end they have to recognise that there are serious difficulties in negotiating with Al-Qaeda because of their goals (creating an Islamic Global Caliphate and convert everyone -including USA- to Islam) which of course is not very realistic and would imply that all the world’s Governments had to agree on the plan.

There is no place for another moonbat in this world…

Just this day AlQaeda has menaced Iraqi Sunnis…:

An al-Qaeda front group warns it will hunt down and kill Sunni Arab tribal leaders who cooperate with the U.S. and its Iraqi partners in the wake of the assassination of the leader of the revolt against the terror movement.

In a separate statement, the Islamic State of Iraq announced a new offensive during Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting that began this week. The statement said the offensive was in honor of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the founder of al-Qaeda in Iraq who was killed by a U.S. airstrike in June 2006.

But hey, just put a little flower power in your life … Big Hug And let’s dialogue!!

AngryWaiting

New cartoon of Mohammed the Dog: VH writes Mo’s Days of Summer. Al Qaeda has offered a bounty of $100.000 to kill artist (in their words, to “slaughter him like a lamb“). Let’s dialogue….

Time outStop this world; I’m getting out of it (Groucho Marx).

War cannot be avoided; it can only be postponed to the other’s advantage“. Niccolo Machiavelli (I’m not a fan of him, but he was really a bright guy).

_____________________________

But there are other idiotic moonbats around. Take for example EU Dhimmi Vice-President Commissioner Franco Frattini, the one who, in the midst of the Mohammed’s cartoons’ furore, stated in an interview to Britain’s Daily Telegraph, that EU will be writing down a code of conduct which “would encourage the media to show “prudence” when covering religion“. And he added:

“The press will give the Muslim world the message: We are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression,” he told the newspaper. “We can and we are ready to self-regulate that right.”

Afterwards, he repented:

Mr Frattini thinks I misconstrued what he said. He has issued a stern press release, putting his side of the story….

Eeh, no, he just blamed the journalist. Big GrinRaised Eyebrow

Well, now he doesn’t want you to use Internet to search for “dangerous words, like bomb, kill, genocide or terrorist“… h/t Ignacio and la Frase Progre.

Internet searches for bomb-making instructions should be blocked across the European Union, the bloc’s top security official said on Monday.

Internet providers should also prevent access to any site giving instructions on how to make a bomb, EU Justice and Security Commissioner Franco Frattini said in an interview.

I do intend to carry out a clear exploring exercise with the private sector … on how it is possible to use technology to prevent people from using or searching dangerous words like bomb, kill, genocide or terrorism,” Frattini told Reuters.

The EU executive is to make this proposal to member states early in November as part of a raft of anti-terrorism proposals.

So, if I search for “Armenian genocide” that means I want to make one myself. And if I search for “Islamic/Islamist terrorist” is that I am also one of them…. And searching for “Sex bomb” (remember the Tom Jones hit?) will also be forbidden.

Phbbbttt Do they really think that someone who is in a terrorist cell doesn’t have any other preparation so he/she has to search in Internet how to do a bomb?

But it continues:

The Internet has taken on huge importance for militant groups, enabling them to share know-how and spread propaganda to a mass audience, as well as to link cell members.

Oh, yeah, and also it has a huge importance for anti-EU groups. Or more accurately to anti-this EU group, hasn’t it? So today we block terrorist and bomb and tomorrow we block information that we don’t want the people to know.

WaitingHe is so damned politically correct that he does not use “terrorist” but “militant“…

In France Rights groups slam plans for immigrant DNA tests h/t Hodja:

French rights groups and left-wing politicians Thursday slammed an amendment to a new immigration bill that would introduce DNA testing for would-be immigrants seeking to join their relatives in France.

The National Assembly’s legislative committee Wednesday approved an amendment that would offer long-term visa applicants the option of a DNA test to prove their family ties.

The amendment’s author Thierry Mariani, a deputy from President Nicolas Sarkozy’s UMP party, says it aims to root out bogus visa requests, arguing that in parts of Africa up to 80 percent of identity papers submitted by applicants were fake.

He says the tests would be a voluntary way to speed up visa procedures for immigrants’ relatives.

But Socialist deputy George Pau-Langevin, the only black MP from mainland France, called the plans “unacceptable.” “This is a significant and unacceptable step in the violation of the right to a private family life, out of all proportion with the goal of fighting paperwork fraud,” she said. “Would we consider doing the same for French people?”

Confused Right to a private family life??? This is just a measure whose aim is to prevent that people who do not belong to the same family, come to Europe claiming the right of reagroupment.

And what is more: the test is OPTIONAL. If you want, you do it and the process ends quicker. If you don’t, well, everthing is slower… Just your own decission, mate. Smug

Remember the South Koreans who were kept as hostages by the Talibans?

Afghan and US-led troops on Friday raided the hideout of a Taliban commander linked to the July abduction of 23 South Koreans, killing six militants, police said.

Taliban commander Abdullah Jan however escaped the raid in the southern province of Ghazni, provincial police chief Alishah Ahmadzai told AFP.

The US-led coalition confirmed there had been an operation in the province but said only that “several suspected militants” had been killed and one arrested.

“Abdullah Jan fled the raid but six of his associates were killed and an unknown number were detained by the coalition forces,” Ahmadzai told AFP.

The bodies of three of the dead were left at the site, he said.

The coalition said one person was detained in the operation in the Qarabagh district, the area where the South Korean aid workers were abducted on July 19.

Some days ago I wrote that Al Qaeda had recruited teenagers for the suicide attacks and that they were educated to be like “little A-Zarqawis“. Well, over 50 have been recruited and trained by now:

The al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb between December and April recruited over 50 children aged under 16, the pan-Arab al-Hayat newspaper reported on Friday, quoting Algerian intelligence sources.
Police were alarmed that a 15-year-old suicide bomber carried out a deadly attack earlier this month in the Algerian port city of Dellys. The boy managed to pass unnoticed through security checks.
Radical imams have recruited to al-Qaeda around 15 under-16s from poor districts of the capital, Algiers, to join its fighters hiding in the mountains of Algeria, police said.
Police said the US-led war in Iraq was being used as pretext to radicalise youngsters in Algeria and persuade them to join militants. They said many had been given training in carrying out suicide attacks either in Iraq or in Algeria.
The al-Kalitius neighbourhood of the village ofBourama on the outskirts of southern Algiers is a particular ‘hotspot’ for Jihadi recruiters, according to police.
After being taken into the mountains, the youngsters have come into contact with Tunisian and Libyan militants and have been trained alongside them to carry out car and truck bomb attacks, police said.

Speaking of children abuse…. Angry What outrage in the MSM and in NGO’s there is after knowing this?

And seeing that the suicide attacks are feared, what do you think Pakistani lawyers plan to do if colleagues are tortured? Exactly…

Peshawar High Court Bar Association President Abdul Latif Afridi on Thursday warned intelligence agencies and the army to avoid torturing lawyers or “face suicide attacks by lawyers at forces’ headquarters”.
At an emergency meeting, the PHCBA passed a resolution denouncing a report that intelligence agencies arrested Advocate Ghulam Nabi on Thursday night and tortured him at a detention cell. Afridi said that if the army and spy agencies did not change their attitude towards lawyers and citizens, the people would “ban the entry of military and agencies personnel to bazaars and main roads”. He said the lawyers would charge secret agencies under sections 6 and 7 of the Anti Terrorism Act as “they tried to terrify the entire lawyers’ community by torturing a lawyer”. The lawyers later staged a protest outside the corps commander house in Peshawar.

Surprise I do not like torture, but I also don’t like suicide bombings…

NYT reported freed:

A Chinese journalist jailed while working for the New York Times has been released. Zhao Yan had been sentenced to three years in prison for fraud in August 2006. He was detained in 2004 on charges that included leaking state secrets. International human rights groups had severely criticised his imprisonment, saying the Communist Party was using secrecy laws to stifle news.

For a retrospective on Zhao Yan, see HRW:

July 2004
Zhao Yan writes a four-line note for the New York Times sketching out a reported conflict between President Hu Jintao and ex-President Jiang Zemin over senior military appointments.
September 7, 2004
The New York Times publishes an article predicting that former President Jiang Zemin will step down from his position of head of the military. A reference to political jockeying between Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao is included as background material in one of the final paragraphs of the article.

[…] October 5, 2005
The Washington Post reveals that Zhao’s case relies almost entirely on a copy of an internal New York Times memo obtained by the State Security Ministry, according to a confidential ministry document urging prosecutors to indict the researcher. It is unclear how the agents gained access to the memo, of which a copy is included in an inventory of evidence collected in the case. [Who gave that copy then? Waiting]

But at the same time detains other two AFP reporters h/t Status of Chinese People:

The arrest of two Agence France-Presse reporters on 12 September is the latest in a string of cases of foreign journalists being obstructed in their work. They show that the less stringent regulations introduced in January are being applied erratically and only when less sensitive issues are involved. At least 32 foreign journalists have been detained or prevented by police from doing reports since January.

“The way the authorities have treated journalists from Agence France-Presse, the BBC World Service and other international news organisations in recent weeks do not bode well for the ability of the foreign media to work during the Olympic Games,” the press freedom organisation said.

These are not unfortunate blunders,” Reporters Without Borders continued. “They are the result of a clear lack of goodwill on the part of the police, who refuse to let reporters travel and investigate freely. We call on the International Olympic Committee to intervene with the Chinese authorities to ensure that the rules introduced in January are finally respected.”

Just keep waiting…

Sri Lanka kills Tamil tigers:

Sri Lankan soldiers killed 15 Tamil Tiger rebels in a clashes in the north and east of the island while six military personnel were also killed, the military said on Saturday.

The latest spike in violence in the country’s long-running civil war follows the launch of a new offensive by government forces to drive guerrillas of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) from the northwesterly Mannar area.

Just in case, Tamil Tigers are the “inventors” of suicide bombings. It’s said that Bin Laden copied them.

In 1987 the LTTE established the notorious Black Tigers, an elite unit of the LTTE responsible for conducting suicide attacks against political, economic and military targets,[9] and launched its first suicide attack against a Sri Lanka Army camp, killing 40 soldiers, still its not conformed.

Of course, they are only “militants”…

Other news:

  1. Selling and drinking alcohol is still legal in Iraq, but since the rise of religious parties in this predominantly Muslim country, the trade has come under severe pressure. Aside from legal restrictions, many liquor shops have been bombed in the past four years. But the people still but it…
  2. Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Austria for a three-day pilgrimage, saying Christianity was not just the legacy of Europe’s past but “the way to the future.”
  3. Japanese Shinzo Abe’s resigned. The main reason of his decission is that the Liberal party’s candidate had different views about the way to conduct negotiations about the continuation of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force’s refueling operations in the Indian Ocean in support of the Global War on Terrorism. The front-runner to become Japan’s next prime minister vowed Saturday to extend his nation’s support for U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan. Ruling party veteran Yasuo Fukuda also said he would take a softer line with North Korea over its past abduction of Japanese nationals, a row that has threatened to upset negotiations over the communist country’s nuclear weapons.
  4. Putin, again: British and Norwegian jets intercepted Russian military aircraft Friday after they breached NATO airspace close to the U.K. and Finland, defense officials said. So far!!! Surprise, surprise: Putin does not rule out presenting himself to 2012’s elections. But this is not hurting his sucessor’s perspectives… No…
  5. After I wrote these last days about the Deobandi sect in Britain and its overwhelming influence there, we have some fresh news about Tablighi Jamaat and their London’s mega-mosque: “The mega-mosque complex would become a flagship for Tablighi Jamaat’s mission to indoctrinate Muslims with a hatred of the West and the kuffar [non-Mulims].” But wasn’t the Mega-mosque cancelled? But there is more: Irfan al Alawi, international director of the Centre for Islamic Pluralism, says the missionary work of Tablighi Jamaat acts as “a recruitment agency for jihad” in Afghanistan, the occupied territories and Iraq. “They go around deprived areas of British towns and cities, knocking on doors and urging young Muslims to come to their gatherings,” he said.

More on the liberation of South Korean hostages: remember the guy who was killed by 10 shots and whose death was blamed on natural causes? Well, really it was not because of natural causes, it was because he did not submit himself to Allah.

The youth pastor who was leading the group of 23 South Korean aid volunteers in Afghanistan was killed for refusing to convert to Islam, the head pastor of the church revealed after the final 19 former hostages arrived home.

Among the 19 hostages who returned on the second (of September), some were asked by the Taliban to convert and when they rejected, they were assaulted and severely beaten,” reported Park Eun-jo, pastor of the hostages’ home church, Saemmul Presbyterian Church in Bundang, just south of the South Korean capital Seoul.

I heard from the hostages that they were threatened with death,” he added, according to Christian Today Korea. “Especially it is known that the reason Pastor Bae Hyung-kyu was murdered was because he refused the Taliban’s demand to convert.”

Infidels Are Cool » Blog Archive » Convert or Die: South Korean Pastor chose death

Is there anything wrong about this??? Well, yeah, have you considered that there is no video showing us the faces of these hostages during their kidnapping asking for release?

But hey, what do you know?? There are idiots -this time is Canadian, but intelligence is not a consequence of nationality so tomorrow it would be from other country- saying that this should be the signal for other countries to start negotiating with the Talibans.

The hostage agreement reached last week between the Taliban and South Korea has profound implications for all countries fighting in Afghanistan. It puts the lie to those, including the current Canadian government, who say it is impossible or counterproductive to strike a deal with the Islamist insurgents. Clearly South Korea found the talks quite productive.

Hey, the Talibans are going to be exultant because of the results of their actions… What a moron!!!

Hehe: at least, one of the kidnappers has had what he deserved. He was already preparing an assault on a police post.

About the German plot: German police is searching for 10 more people, both inside Germany and abroad:

BERLIN (AFP) – German police have launched an international hunt for 10 accomplices of the three men held over a foiled Islamist plot to blow up airports and US installations in Germany, a top official said Thursday.

“Terrorist attacks need preparation. We are trying to identify all of those who were working in the shadows,” Deputy Interior Minister August Hanning told ARD television.

Police were searching for “the 10 people who were behind this” within Germany and abroad, he added.

The arrests were made at a vacation home, pictured, in Oberschledorn. The suspects had rented the house to store chemicals to make explosives, officials said, and were preparing to leave when security forces swooped in.

But there is more about the already detained:

Newspapers reported on Thursday that investigators believed Fritz Martin G. to have been the ringleader of the plotters.

He had been living in Neu-Ulm, a town in southern Germany seen as a hotbed of Islamist radicals, and was involved in a mosque there which German police have long believed to be a base for extremists planning attacks.

Investigators said an Islamic centre in nearby Ulm was among more than 30 places the police raided early Wednesday. Offices seized documents and computers they hope can point them to those who helped to organise and finance the well-advanced bomb plot.

The three main suspects, pictured in the press wearing blue prisoner overalls, appeared before an investigating judge in Karlsruhe in southwestern Germany on Wednesday.

The authorities have said the men gathered at their Sauerland hideaway on Sunday to start making bombs to use in “massive attacks” with the 12 drums of hydrogen peroxide (left) they had stashed in the garage.

Sources close to the case told AFP the police were looking into the group’s plans to use military detonators to set off bombs because this could provide important clues in the investigation.

They also phoned British colleagues.

Several calls to British numbers are said to been made from mobile telephones linked to two of the men being questioned in Germany. One is said to have been a “known” number.

Remember that there were also 8 people detained in Denmark accused of preparing more Islamist terrorist attacks? Well:

“On August 31, 2007, the Islamist website {name removed}, hosted by SiteGenie LLC in Rochester, Minnesota, posted a document calling for “martyrdom [i.e., suicide] operations” in Denmark. The author, who identified himself as a member of Al-Qaeda, urged the Muslims not to forget the incident of the Danish cartoons, and promised the people of Denmark that the “brigades of martyrdom seekers are on their way… and will soon carry out blessed operations” in their country. He called on the Muslims to register on the site as candidates for these suicide operations.

Once again this means only one thing: they can go from one place to another and they can communicate to each other, very easily. And we are all menaced, whatever the policy our Governments make.

Elder of Ziyon has an appaling story which happened in London. A woman enters a café in Edgware Road near Marble Arch and asks for a juice. She sits down and waits for it, noticing she is the only female customer. When the waitress brings it to her, she complaints because it was fermented and tells the woman it needed to be conserved in a refrigerator.

But the waitress answers “No– English”. So exasperated, she shouts:

Is there no-one working here who speaks English? This is Paddington – this is still a London neighbourhood.’
A well-dressed man came over and said ‘I speak English.’ I thought he was going to intervene on my behalf but instead came out with this astonishing observation:
You are a racist! You are a racist ape! Look at you– you are an ape!’[…] Shocked, I glared at him, but he had to finish things off : ‘You want them to speak Hebrew, don’t you?

😯 This man has a problem with geography…

I got up from my seat and went over to him and at the top of my voice said I would be proud to speak Hebrew if I could, it being the language of the Torah and of an ancient culture going back six-thousand years. [Heh, imagine the face of the moron… ].
He then embarked on a tirade at me about the ‘five million Indians’ slaughtered in genocide in America. [Of course, Muslims have never killed a poor fly in their whole history…]. Meanwhile, the men in the café were in various states of laughter at me, and exhibiting great admiration for him.
Believe it or not, the server had in the meantime brought me a fresh juice which I calmly drank with my very un-Hebrew ham and cheese sandwich, and then I left. I wandered over to the flower shop and found myself commiserating with what seemed to be two Englishwomen who lived in a permanent state of fear in a neighbourhood they had called their own for generations. They told me I must have been mad going into that shop, as ‘all the establishments in Edgware Road are off-limits to us now.’

😯 Not surprised then that the British are going abroad in something very similar to an stampede.

Once again all of these stories makes this come true:

NYT has run a story critisizing Mother Theresa, and feeling disgusted because normal US nationals know Calcutta not because of its beautiful buildings and educated middle class, but because of her. So what is the problem with her and the liberal media around the world?

As a doctor, I can only shake my head at those sophisticated critics that lament her hospices don’t meet the year 2000 standards of university hospitals. They ignore the question: If Mother Teresa’s hospice was not there, where would the people go? To other Indian hospices? To University hospitals, with private beds and gourmet meals?

… The rest off the criticisms similarly show a strange envy of the good. But why Mother Teresa? Why not slime American born Ram Dass and the Indian doctors and who helped wipe out small pox in India? Or slime Mother Wichiencharoen, a Buddhist nun, for her shelters in Bangkok? But we all know why, don’t we? The NYTimes doesn’t like Catholics.

It’s the sex stupid.

Mother Teresa opposed abortion and promoted chastity. How dare she impose her rigid Catholic morality on poor Hindus, (whose religion, by the way, also opposes abortion and promotes chastity).
But the editors of the NYTimes can’t have a rich American slime Mother Teresa, so they find an Indian born woman to do it.
So let’s destroy the reputation of Mother Teresa, and we won’t feel so guilty at our next cocktail party.

SC&A writes:

We are not all Mother Teresa. That said, because we are not all Mother Teresa, we ought not diminish her status so that we might be her equal. The ability to reach within and bring the very best of who we are isn’t easy. If it were, we’d all be heroes.

We live in a world that trivializes goodness and and character. The virtues of money, sex and inflexibility are celebrated and extolled. ‘Take no prisoners’ has come to define not only political agendas, but moral ones as well. Success often means trading in values that might actualize the very best of who we are, for values that will clearly enslave us.

We do have the ability to reach that part of ourselves that is the best of ourselves and if we choose, we can make that self actualization as natural as breathing. Who we are won’t change- in fact, we can choose to reach out to our own unique potential and evolve into our best selves. Each of us has within our grasp, the opportunity to be our own expression of Mother Teresa.

Read it all: it’s really worth your time.

I have said around the world because in Spain it was El País (yes, you all know how much I love that newspaper) the liberal MSM which was worried about how on earth someone with doubts could be made saint… because she had lost her faith. 😯 Of course, what the article’s writer did not know is that Nowak -secretary of the Congregation for the Saints’ Cause- said: “It is a phenomenon which happens to every great mistic and spiritual teacher, as Saint Teresa of Jesus or Saint Juan de la Cruz, called spiritual night or senses’ night.  They are special periods of the spiritual life of the people who feel themselves abandoned by a God who they feel is very far from them“.

😈 Oh, yeah, but they are independent and objective. Yeah, without doubt…

And, while these liberal media are critisizing and diminishing her so much, the Feast the Missionaries of Charity have given in her honor and her tomb were full of people to mark the 10th anniversary of her death. In the ocassion, Sister Nirmala Joshi, her succesor as Head of the MofC, said:

Only those of an advanced level of spirituality” experience this, Sister Nirmala said, calling it a sign of being close to God. It is like being close “to the sun and so blinded by the brilliance,” she explained.

Theo Spark: Pic of the day…..

The hardline Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir has started posting professionally produced propaganda video clips on YouTube.

The clips, some lasting almost 10 minutes, posted on the internet video-sharing site depict Muslims being attacked by Western forces and asks “for how much longer?”

Produced by the group’s Malaysian branch, the clips call on Muslims to “arise and shake off the dust” of European colonialism and show members marching in support of Palestinians to the commentary “O armies of the Muslim world, we wait for your help.”

I wrote about them here.

Recently declassified American intelligence reveals just how much al Qaeda in Iraq is dependent for its survival on the support it receives from the broader, global al Qaeda network, and how most of that support flows into Iraq through one country — Syria. Al Qaeda in Iraq is sustained by a transnational network of facilitators and human smugglers, who replenish its supply of suicide bombers — approximately 60 to 80 Islamist extremists, recruited every month from across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, and sent to meet their al Qaeda handlers in Syria, from where they are taken to Iraq to blow themselves up to kill countless others.

Well, this is is something not very rare considering what role Syria has been playing.

To continue with the Global Caliphate:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that rule of Islam on mankind is the only way for salvation of human beings.

“There is no truth on earth but monotheism and following tenets of Islam and there is no way for salvation of mankind but rule of Islam over mankind,” said Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Afghan Sunni and Shiite ulama at Iranian Embassy in Kabul.

By the way, we were the other day watching Anastasia and it struck me how much the bad guy, Rasputin, resembles Ahmadinejad:

Both of them very attractive… 😈

One Ahmadinejad is attractive (for his mother maybe). But not as attractive as a lot of armed clerics marching:

Read more in Winds of Jihad. And read also Kamagir about the words of the Teheran’s Public Prosecutor to the detained students’ families: “Torture? We haven’t started torture yet. The confessions have not being made under pressure“. Despite

CAIRO – Egyptian police are holding a woman who conducted a near-fatal circumcision on a young girl, a widely-condemned practice the authorities are trying to stamp out, the press reported Friday.

The victim, Naglaa Khamis, went into a coma and suffered severe hemorrhaging after the removal of part of her genitals, but was saved after being taken to hospital by her parents.

Police took the woman who carried out the mutilation in Minya, south of Cairo, into custody.

The health ministry said, last week, that a law to toughen penalties against female circumcision will be put to parliament when it reconvenes in the autumn, after two young girls died during such operations in recent months.

To know what FGM is about click here. Egypt legalised this practise 10 years ago.

Really unbelievable news from David Drake:

Tom Burnett, Sr., from Minnesota – whose son Tom, Jr. died on Flight 93 – and others continue criticizing the design of the memorial (and I agree with them), for its structural designs which appear to honor Islam and the terrorists instead of the all the passengers on Flight 93.

Nearly two years after the design of the United Flight 93 Memorial was changed to eliminate any perceived Islamic symbolism, the father of one of the people killed in the crash has asked that his son’s name be withheld from the monument.

But true… 👿

Lastly, from Russia, thanks to Mike and Molten Thought, comes this terrible story:

Six weeks ago Ms. Larisa Arap, a 49 year old Russian journalist, went to the doctor’s for her annual physical. While there her doctor discovered that she wrote an article entitled “Madhouse” that exposed the alleged child abuse at the Murmansk Regional Psychiatric Hospital. So, as any normal paranoid freak would do, the doctor summed the police and had Ms. Arap committed to a psychiatric hospital herself.

“[The doctor] said, ‘It’s not possible to write such things. It’s forbidden.'” Doctors also told Taisiya Arap that her mother needed “long term treatment and might never leave the clinic,” the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported.

The fact that an independent panel of three psychiatrists have found Ms. Arap to be of sound mind and should be released has made no impression on the state doctors.

Read it all.

Marvellous!!! This was why Lebanon was never on the news, wasn’t it? Because there were actual dangers of be killed in action. I hope that now they are not given the medal-after-dying-because-of-slipping-over-a-banana-skin. smile_baringteeth Because Spain is in this war. Whatever this disgusting Government tells us about it.

Four United Nations peacekeepers have been killed and several others wounded by an explosion in southern Lebanon, security officials say. The blast badly damaged two vehicles transporting Spanish peacekeepers from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) near the border with Israel. It is unclear if the soldiers were targeted or hit unexploded ordinance left over from last summer’s war. Cluster bombs and mines have killed 30 people in the area in the last year. But radical groups in Lebanon have also threatened to attack the UN peacekeepers, says the BBC’s Kim Ghattas. For the last five weeks, the Lebanese army has been battling militants from the Fatah al-Islam group near the northern city of Tripoli, who are apparently inspired by al-Qaeda. Authorities have said that Fatah al-Islam militants who have been arrested and interrogated have confessed there was a plan to attack the UN, our correspondent adds.

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Lebanon blast ‘kills UN soldiers

UDPATE: According to Spanish press:

An armour-plated vehicle was totally destroyed and another one was damaged. The first data were pointing to an explosion caused by a mine, which could be old or prepared to explode when the patrol was passing near. But, sources from Lebanese security points out that the explosion was caused by a device activated by remote control.

The most important part of the 1.100 military men serving at Lebanon are from the Parachute Brigade (Brigada Paracaidista -BRIPAC) and from the Terrestrial Logistical Force.

Their replacement was scheduled to begin on next July 7th and to end on July 16th (festivity of the Virgin of Carmen).

According to witnesses, some minutes later a second explosion was heared, which could have been caused by the explosion of the oil deposit or to the munition it transported.

The Spanish Defense Ministry has only announced the death of two of the soldiers.

UDPATE 2: Hizbullah has condemned the attack. Don’t make me laugh! Some days ago, they have accused the troops of spying for Israel! Huh, that would have been a good task indeed!

UPDATE 3: The vehicule was similar to this one:

UPDATE 4: Last news show the explosion has killed five, not four.

UPDATE 5: Spanish Defence Minister, José Antonio Alonso, points to a premeditated attack on the troops. Three were Colombian, the other two Spanish:

Alonso explained that an explosion has happened -car bomb or other explosive device, activated with a remote control-, when the Spanish BMR (armoured-vehicle) was pasing by. In the vehicle there were 8 FINUL soldiers. “It is without doubt a premeditated attack“, he said, ruling out the possibility of the explosion being caused by a mine. The information was corroborated afterwards by policial sources from the region: it has been a car bomb, white “Renault Rapid”, with a false plate. It is possible that there were suicide bombers inside.

The three soldiers, of Colombian origin are, Jefferson Vargas Moya, 21-years-old; Jackson Castaño Abadía, 20-years-old; y Juan Erickson Posada, 20-years-old.  The two Spanish are Jonathan Galea García, 18-years-old, from Madrid; and Juan Vidoria Díaz, 20-years-old from Avila.  In the same explosion, another three were hurt: Enrique Vázquez Matei (21-years-old from Madrid), David Puerta Ruiz (19-years-old from Sevilla) y Juan Paz Soler (19-years-old, from Mallorca).

Mike, you were right.

UPDATE 6: Some photos.

UPDATE 7: Six dead. Another Spanish has died.

UPDATE 8: Madrid has decreed a day of official mourning.

Alonso is now in Lebanon to carry back the six murdered soldiers.

They do not want to call it a war, to prevent the anti-war from protesting. Because Iraq and Lebanon are not so different.

Condolences: The Royal Family, the Popular Party, Romano Prodi (Italian PM), Arturo Parisi (Italian Minister of Defense), Javier Solana, Marc Reguev (Israeli Government’s speaker), Condoleeza Rice, Bernard Kouchner (French FM), Emile Lahud (Lebanese President).

French justice has opened an investigation after discovering 2 illegal immigrants working in the renewing works of one of the official residences of the President Nicholas Sarkozy, some days after being seeing in a video as if he was under the effects of alcohol.
2 workers from Mali who had false residence documents were detained in la Laterne, a mansion located near the Versaille palace, in the outskirts of Paris, according to Judicial sources.
According to newspaper La Parisien, Sarkozy and even more than him, his wife Cécile, are enchanted with it and could convert it into their continous residence.
The Versailles’ Procurator, Michel Desplan ordered an investigation within the frontier police to “understand what is the origin of the false documents“. The firm who hired their services did it not knowing anything and has not been charged.
The mansion depends from the General Secretary of the Government.

Now come here and tell me this has nothing to do with the fact that tomorrow is the 2nd tour. And with the fact that the French left is absolutely desperate.

And oh, I don’t believe that Presidents should about the laboral situation of all the workers that work for them….

European Parliament passed a resolution on May 24th in which they considered as an “alarming precedent” the decision by Chávez to shut Radio Caracas Televisión, because of their critics to Chávez. But the Venezuelan President, as Castro, has a very good defensor in Europe: PSOE (Spanish Socialists). The Spanish Socialists voted against the resolution and their secretary for International Relations, Elena Valenciano, repeated Chávez’s arguments: “it is an administrative decision” and the defense of freedom of expression is “a campaign of the right“. This Wednesday, when the closing of RCTV is a fact, Popular Party has asked for a rectification to PSOE.

This happens the same day that Chávez has laughed about international condemnation, specially about EU resolution because of the 784 MPs, only 65 voted it. And the same day in which Chávez has named as enemies of the Venezuelan country, Globovisión TV and the students who demonstrated these past days, saying the latter “are brainwashed by their parents and teachers“.

This happens the same day international Spanish moonbat and gay politician -he is not a moonbat for being gay, he is a moonbat because he is a moonbat-, Zerolo, has asked for the expulsion of Poland from EU after considering that Poland is in the EU only for receiving money. “The EU is not a bank to receive money from. If you don’t respect some civic and republican values, out of the EU!“. The reason? Poland is not accepting the Zapatero’s model of promoting homosexuality in the schools (attention: this link contains very bad taste images. But this book is the one which is being promoted by Spanish Minister of Education to educate minors in schools).

The statement is even worse because Zapatero is going to visit Poland. And because Spain has received (a lot of) money specially for infraestructures from Europe, something that has been pointed out by the Polish Ambassador in Spain, Grazyna Bernatowicz.

Of course, he is not revolving against what is happening in Malasia today….

Just making Spanish people proud of the Government… smile_baringteeth

(UPDATE): My friend Thymoumai has also written about this “support” and is as outraged as me:

there is no such thing as strategies or administrative decisions when we are talking about freedom of speech. But I guess I forgot that for some people, the ideal government model is the Chávez/Catro regime. [attention people, THAT IS THE REAL REASON why I am so worried and why some people are so wrong when they think that Zapatero is supporting Castro and Spanish democracy at the same time. If you support Castro, you don’t support democracy, whatever you say]

PUBLICHUMILIATIONBBBBBX

Through one Iranian blogger, plateau, who left a comment here, I have come across this post that explains the image above:

The above photo was taken by Pars News photographer who was invited to the torture parade in order to photograph and disseminate the images all across Iran and the world. The images at the top show a young man with Marlon Brando looks and his free spirit shown by his Colombia football jersey and long hair, being pushed, thrown on the ground and his forehead getting bloodied in order to force him to put a device in his mouth which is used in toilets to wash excrement. The image below shows a clean cut man with western style shirt and trousers being subject to similar humiliations in front of photojournalists and the public on the streets of Tehran. There are people in the west who still say: “Why do the Iranian people not revolt against the regime?” I want to ask these people: When will western oil companies stop buying oil from the Ayatollahs and when will your governments stop making deals under the table with the Islamic regime?

A very interesting question.

These photos were taken the same day these others were -as a matter of fact, both of them were already in some of those photos-.

There is something I do not agree with the post though: a lot of people is not going to see them. Firstly, not all people reads internet. Secondly, if you are interested in other subjects you’re not going to see it either. And lastly, there are people that only get informed by TV, and I can tell you that in Spanish TVs these horrible acts by Iranian Government are not shown.

Italian blog Il paracadute has also something linked to the agression a woman suffered for not being veiled:

There is in Iran a poster where the Iranian women are told not to dress themselves Western-style, and it is done by telling them that if they do, they are going to be the subject of bad intention people. The poster reads: “We are the culprits if we find problems in the street, we are seeking for them“. This is the poster:

More about the Women in the Islamic Republic in Iran by velvethammer.

Disregarding their international commitments, the mullahs have shown no qualms about executing women of all ages; from 13-year-old adolescents like Fatemeh Mesbah, Maryam Ghodsi-Maab, 16; Ezzat Mesbah, 15; Mojgan Jamshidi, 14; and Nooshin Emami, 16; to 70-year-old grandmothers like Ettesamossadat Karbasi; Arasteh Qolivand, 56; Soqra Davari, 54; and Massoumeh Shadmani, 50.

Mina Mohammadian was executed on February 29, 1987, on political charges. She was held in solitary confinement for eleven months prior to her execution. During that period, she went through forty interrogation sessions, during which she was subjected to the most horrendous tortures. She was repeatedly raped by the regime’s Guards. She was 22 at the time of her execution.

Women political prisoners are kept in so-called “residential units” (cement cages, 50 cm square), with their heads cramped down onto their knees, for months at a time. They are beaten regularly, up to 50 times a day. Another common torture of women political prisoners, besides systematic flogging, is suspension for hours from the ceiling by the hands, or upside down, by the feet. In some cases, the torture leads first to paralysis, then to the woman’s death. Nahid Shahrokhi- Mahalati, a 22-year-old teacher, was suspended from the ceiling for a prolonged period. She died under torture.

I have no words. And then Ahmadinejad says that women’s rights are respected… What a bastard!! Human Rights are all crashed in Iran, whether they are women’s or men’s…

And the firms, … smile_angry

From ABC.es:

The special Police Corp Tedax (explosives experts) has de-activated an explosive device in an industrial loft in Lugo which belonged to the building firm Mon, according to policial sources.
The device was localised outside the building, situated in an industrial area in O Ceao, and consisted in a pressure cooker with explosive inside build mainly of screws and a detonator.
According to a policial speaker, if the device would have exploded, it would have been “a massacre”. Once de-activated, the device was carried away to the experts in de-activation of explosives to analyse their composition and search for possible leads.
The police received the call that alerted of the existence of the device around 3 o’clock in the afternoon. In the offices of two newspapers in Lugo some e-mails written in Galician-Portuguese “against the destruction, generalised resistence”.
The message contained a reference to the explosive device and also accused the building firm Mon as “responsible of urban damages” in the city of Lugo.

There has been more menaces against a PP member, now in Catalonia (yesterday I wrote that there has been several attacks in past days):

The candidate of Catalan Popular Party to be Major of Ulldecona, Isabel Salas, has denounced this Tuesday before the Civil Guard that she has received menaces against her and against the party she represents.
According to the popular candidate’s communiqué, on Monday night she received in the local office of PPC in Ulldecona a piece of newspaper where the aggressions suffered by a councilor on Basque Country were reported. With the photo of the beaten councillor, it is written “You will be the next” or “Isabel go to Spain“.In El Vendrell PPC has seen how since the beginning of the campaign, the propganda has been systematically torn apart.

But, without doubt, the worst of all the acts has been the one happened in the Madrid’s village of San Fernando de Henares. Some unknown people have written “ETA kill them” in a photo of PP’s candidate to Major in the propaganda shown in the streets (photo, left).

But in other photos of candidates, the PP candidates are called “murders”:
Some more menaces: to the candidate to Major of Mostoles: Parro, we are going to kill you:
So, what do this people want? A new Civil War? No opposition -that is, to begin a new dictatorship-? Riots?

The other important item has been the appearance of ANV (Basque Nationalist Action). This political party did not support the violence on 1978 but the next year it entered on the orbit of Batasuna-ETA.

The terrorist platform presented another party before: Abertzalen Sozialisten.

As I wrote here, a political party can be illegalised if it’s defending violence or supporting terrorism.

So the question was: Do ANV or AS defend violence or support terrorism?

The Supreme Tribunal consider totally against law all the electoral lists from Abertzalen Socialista and a great part of the ANV. In its resolution, the Magistrates from Special 61 considered that they could have anulled all the lists from ANV, if the Government had began the right process. The Tribunal considered that, as ANV was used as a fraud the right process was to declare totally void ALL the party. They also consider that ANV is the the heir of Batasuna.

There are protests scheduled for May 22nd whose objective will be to ask for the illegalization of ANV.

But the worst thing regarding Spanish politics, is that, after seeing bloody ETA terrorist De Juana Chaos in a video, broader and fatter, when PP has pushed in Parliament a vote to return him to prison, all parties except PP, have voted against it. They have voted for De Juana not to be in jail for the rest of his punishment. And they have done it before the victims, specially before Gerardo, one of the elite policemen from TEDAX corps, whose colleague Esteban del Amo was killed by a bomb put by De Juana. Genaro’s life was saved thanks to Del Amo’s heroism: knowing that he was going to die, Del Amo sprang and put his body between the bomb and Genaro. No body was found, just some little pieces.[We will be eternally grateful to British newspaper The Times for their photos about De Juana].

Gerardo after the bomb exploded. Thanks, The Times. And thanks, every one and to the last you cowards of Spanish Parliament. Do you see this man’s hands? Well, that is nothing to what happened to Del Amo: his remains were nowhere. What would happen if instead of them, would have been your sons and daughters?

Yes, I know that I normally do not write things like this. Normally I only write facts, but this is so grave, so insulting, so wrong…

The protest against PSOE for these acts has already surfaced Second Life:

The menaces to non-nationalists continue in Basque Country. Philosopher Savater has said: “we do not need human solidarity, we need political solidarity”. Well, seeing how the campaign is going, I see there is little human solidarity in some circles and politicians.

By the way, this is the hour, that neither the Socialists, Communists or Nationalists have condemned the menaces and harrasment of PP or Ciutadans candidates.

To foreigners who do not like Spanish politics, and consider that ETA should not be considered, because it’s just a “Spanish issue“, just tell them, that De Juana had gone on hunger strike twice last year, that he achieved what he wanted (2nd penitentiary grade, while having a magnificent share of penitentiary priviledges). Well, 14 of the Islamists who are accused of Madrid March 11 bombings are on hunger strike:

The accused on hunger strike are the accused of being the material authors: Jamal Zougam and Basel Ghalyoun; the accused of belonging to terrorist organisation: Mouhannad Almallah Dabas, Mohamed Larbi bem Sellam, Otman el Gnaoui, Rachid Aglif and Abdelilah el Fadoual el Akil; and the accused of collaborating with terrorist organisation: Hamid Ahmidan y Mahmoud Slimane Aoun.

We also have to add the two ideologues: the Egyptian and Mouhamed Belhadj, who is also the ideologue of the hunger strike.

But Judge Bermúdez has warned them he is not going to stop the process, just because they are feeling bad as a result of the hunger strike -some of them are also not drinking liquids. In his words:

We are informing the accused that if they continue with this attitude they are going to be expelled temporally or definitively from the oral phase and the process will continue in their absence. So, the process will not be suspended by that motive. But some measures can be reinforced such as issue an order to make them drink water or have food with or without their will.

The message is clear: if De Juana is out in the streets, why we cannot? If Zapatero is negotiating with ETA why not with us?

Barcepundit also notes this puts the Government in a rather bad situation. Situation that would be worse if opposition (=PP, the rest of the groups are no opposition at all), would also point out the obvious fact…

And the fact that the pericial report has not pointed out what kind of explosives were used does not help…

Other news:
The murderer of Tomás y Valiente, ex-President of the Spanish Constitutional Tribunal, Bienzobas -below-, has been condemned to 30 years in prison. Let’s hope he is not given the 2nd grade tomorrow, because, well, let’s be pacifist for a while and we must speak with anyone.

Riots in La Bastille:

From Ironic Surrealism.

Another video, also riots happened in La Bastille:

Another video, this riot happened in Belleville:

A Blog for All reminds that tear gas was needed to disperse the democratic youths. And that the rioters were white-skined… ejem, that was clear from the beginning…

From Red Alerts: Communist leader supports Paris Jihad.

Fausta’s blog: Sarko: What’s next?. She quotes Forbes: “French president-elect Nicolas Sarkozy plans to waste no time pushing through a weighty package of pro-market, anti-crime reforms – but the first battle is winning a majority in parliament in new elections next month“.

NRO on French elections: What Republicans should learn of Sarkozy’s victory -and also Spanish right-centre- h/t El Opinador Compulsivo:

  1. He stuck on ideas. He had specific solutions for specific problems — including some of France’s most intractable — and he stuck by them no matter what. He didn’t allow his ideas to become swamped in sentiment.
  2. He reflected common sense.
  3. Sarkozy simply ignored what the French press assumed the campaign should be about — the enshrinement of the 35-hour week or Le Pen or whatever — and stayed on-topic.
  4. he didn’t give credit to constituency issues that weren’t his own (such as Royal being a woman).
  5. He ignored meaningless issues, for example, Bayrou.
  6. He prohibited cynicism, because he stuck with ideas.
  7. He ran from losers… of his own party (Chirac and the rest of the UMP establishment).
Italian blogger Face the Truth also sees this as an example for Italian right parties.

Remember the I am a woman, vote for me of Ségo? She will be dissapointed h/t O Insurgente:

Nicolas Sarkozy won the women’s vote and fared well among blue-collar workers, even though his rival for the French presidency was a woman and a Socialist.

It was one of the surprising subplots in Sarkozy’s resounding election victory over Segolene Royal – and shows his vision of pro-market reforms and scaling back immigration appeals to a wide audience.

No Pasarán h/t EU Referendum (by the way, read the post I am linking, it has a very good insight):

In Lille, just before 22h00, around 200 anarchists French youths with black flags grouped around the Grand Place and chanted “Fascist Sarko, the people will have your hide”.

Oh, yeah, as Helen, points out, ehem the people have voted and Sarkozy has won. And how many votes anarchists had?

Deustche Welle: More riots on France after Sarkozy wins. Now, Socialist leaders appeal for calm: François Hollande (PS) calls for restraint and adds “Everyone who indulges in these acts of violence only does those people a service who want more order and strictness“. “But we need dialogue and respect instead of violence,” he added…. Too late!

Strata Sphere: Is Europe moving right? Is the democratic left in trouble?

I normally do not link to bad taste images, but you can see how badly Sarko has been treated by some people throughout the campaign, going to this post. I advice you: the image is… of very bad taste.

The New Babylon Times: In Lilles some youths climbed to the Mayor’s office balcony and some of the flags burned. (In Spanish).

Alianza entre Mamones comments: And as ever the leftists take on very well the defeats.

The American Thinker considers that the riots are caused by the spoken frienship between France and US. I really think that they do not consider the right is legitimate enough to govern.

Atlas Shrugs has more on the riots. People are blaming on his foreign origins the reaction people had when he called rioters scum. They consider that, being an immigrant, he should have more respect for immigrants. Oh, yes, but for immigrants that do not riot and work. By the way, I feel that consideration about his origins is somewhat chauvinist: and then, these leftists… blame every people of the world of being racists and segregationists… Hmmm.

Disculpen las Molestias: The important thing is not losing, and most important, not losing the elections to a conservative. Some people can’t stand it.

Stephania fears he is going to be just another right-wing socialist.

Chaim links to an IHT article about the elections. Sakozy is both an outsider and and an insider. We will see, as I have writen before, what happens in legislative elections… next June.

French blog Instict de survie reports that Islamist web Oumma.net has begun its resistance against the national-sarkosysme. They also report that the association “Votez banlieues“, was calling for anti-Sarko vote. But the French Muslim Council is happy about the result as Sarkozy was the one who united “all the French Muslim tendencies“. That, together with his mentions to euthanasia, are the two things I really do not see very clear about him.

By the way, a Catholic Church in Loos has been burned to the ground. Three people were questioned but they had all being released.

Portuguese blogger Franciso Núnes writes:

The French do not bore badly that Nicolas Sarkozy called scum to some sympathetic youths who got some fun burning neighbours’ cars and buses with passengers inside, breaking windows, beating people in the streets, destroying urban equipment

Terrible people, this French.

Je, je, je, there’s nothing better in this world that ironic people… [Uups, I forgot to write that post about Portuguese PM Socrates faking his degree… Changing from Outlook to new Windows Live Mail have those inconvenients…).

Riots continue in Paris after Sarkozy wins.

Riots in France produce 270 detained and 367 burned cars.

Radicales Libres: ¿Contra quién va ese elogio? In this post it’s described how Zapatero greeted Sarkozy’s victory:”the leader of the UMP represents an open and modern right able to drive the longing for change in a country which is called to regain the self-confidence“. Hmm, yes, of course, now Sarkozy is a wonderful man, just in case he does not agree with you in immigration and anti-terrorist matters…

Batiburrillo: España-Francia: Aversión y regocijo “Rajoy must take into account that in France has been blown up that false myth of the left is always the winner when the turnout is big. And absurd myth that has never had taken into account the high abstention, for example, of the non-nationalists in the Spanish Autonomous Communities’ elections and in their different statutory referenda”.

» Desde el exilio As the left does not know how to lose, the best thing to do is to send their representatives to the streets to make Royal menaces’ a reality.

Left: the riots in Nantes.

Right: Anti-riot police in La Place de la Concorde.

Anyway, don’t panic: the number of burned carns have not being so abundant as in other nights. The National General Direction of the Police have said that the numbers were not very bigger than the ones burned in the last National Day (July, 14th, 2006) or the ones who are being registered on the Dec. 31st. During the 2005’s riots more than 1000 cars were burned each night.

Le président Sarkozy est à Malte And Sarkozy is in Malta for relaxing. Looks like he is going to need it, viewing what is waiting for him dans la cité de l’amour.

Blue Star Chronicles: France elects a new President Nicholas Sarkozy and Burns Again.

Publius Pundit has an excellent round-up of blogs.

The ASTUTE BLOGGERS write the Joos win again, about Sarko winning the Presidence.

Gateway Pundit: Sarkozy’s Islamophobia May Be Cause of French Rioting Yes, and they quote the part in which he said that NO BURQA and NO POLIGAMY in France…

[…] they can all point the finger to themselves. They are all to blame, as is their socialist ideology. Socialism has had its day; socialism has brought moral decline, high unemployment rates, weak, unstable economies, huge governments, regulation in just about every area of one’s life; it has caused something called personal responsibility to disappear; it has brought moral relativism; it has learned us that we cannot be proud of our respective country; it has made large groups of people unnecessarily dependent on the government; it has forced us to accept the failed concept of multiculturalism; it has taught us (I mean Europeans in general with that) that whatever you do, you have to be politically correct; it has created an environment in which one is not allowed to name problems, let alone deal with them; it has taught us that criminals are not to blame for their crimes, society as a whole is and that they, therefore, should be coddled instead of punished… oef, the list goes on and on. Socialism has weakened France, and Europe as a whole; it is time to get rid of it.

Bwahhhhhhhhaaaa!!! Le Monde is very, very, very sad and angry after Sarko’s victory.

Summarising: “There is in Sarkozy’s victory, without doubt, a revenge from the right that did not ricognise itself in the 7-year mandate of Giscard d’Estaing, and even less in the 2 terms of Chirac, that they found, very inspired by the Socialist radicalism. That said, this success underlines also the failure of the moral and bien-pensante left”.

If you can understand French just consider the contempt this man has for the right, which is even agressive in the second paragraph cited.

And now, this is the Spanish joke of the Sarko moment: Mr. Zapatero -who supported Ségo and really hates Sarko, who has repeatedly voiced his admiration for the fascist-genocidal-dictatorial-Fraco-ish-…. Aznar- is a jinx for the foreign candidates: He supported Kerry saying he was going to win over Bush, and then Bush won. Then he supported Schröder and this last one lost the elections. Later he called Merkel a failure and she is German President. Later on, he went to support the European Constitution in a meeting with Chirac -when he said “L’Españ voté ui“, instead of “L’Espagne a voté oui” or “Les espagnols ont supporté la Constitution“- and France overwhelmingly voted no: Blog del Movimiento Anti-ZP: ZP sigue siendo un gafe para los candidatos europeos

Sarkozy’s victory is a symptom of what has really changed: A report published by the Spanish Defense Ministry says that the only leaders who could revert he “preogressive decline” of Europe are Merkel and Sarkozy. The report made by the Real Instituto Elcano and the Spanish Institute for Strategis Studies, underlines that Europe now is passing a time of “progressive decline” in which there is no strategic leadership nor leaders who could revert this situation, except German President Merkel and the French just-elected Sarkozy. It also points out that the use of WMD by terrorist groups is “more feasible“, each day that passes.

Lastly, a video. Yes, I know, there are comparisons that are totally hateful and I am sure Zapatero would lose if we compare him with… Tony Blair… I am referring myself to the video Mr Blair has issued for féliciter Monsieur Sarkozy pour sa victoire. With you, Blair, en parlant Français:

Hmm, horrible and disgusting:

American soldiers discovered a girls school being built north of Baghdad had become an explosives-rigged “death trap,” the U.S. military said Thursday.
The plot at the Huda Girls’ school in Tarmiya was a “sophisticated and premeditated attempt to inflict massive casualties on our most innocent victims,” military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said.
The military suspects the plot was the work of al Qaeda, because of its nature and sophistication, Caldwell said in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.
The plot was uncovered Saturday, when troopers in the Salaheddin province found detonating wire across the street from the school. They picked up the wire and followed its trail, which led to the school. Once inside, they found an explosive-filled propane tank buried beneath the floor. There were artillery shells built into the ceiling and floor, and another propane tank was found, the military said.
The wire was concealed with mortar and concrete, and the propane tanks had been covered with brick and hidden underneath the floor, according to a military statement. Soldiers were able to clear the building.
“It was truly just an incredibly ugly, dirty kind of vicious killing that would have gone on here,” Caldwell said.

Just disgusting. And then I imagine the MSM titles: US Army operation turns out in bloody outcome: nearly 200 girls killed. Puagggghhh!!

You can see the video here. Disgusting, very disgusting. And Spanish MSM -to the extent of my knowledge- have said nothing about this…

Anyway, Barcepundit has written in Spanish about it.

UPDATE: Al-Maliki, Iraqi PM, has ties with Iranian Revolutionary Guards!! At least that is what the Egyptian Government mantains h/t Clarity and Resolve.

The Pentagon has announced the capture of Adb al Hadi al Iraqi, considerd as a “top level member of A-Qaeda”,who has been transferred to Guantanamo (Cuba).

The detained, says Berlusconi’s Spanish leftist TV Telecinco, is “Iraqi, born in the north of Mosul and was commander of the armed army (¡!) of Saddam Hussein”. Normally armies are armed.

More information after the news.

Note the location from WHICH this animal was entering Iraq – Iran. Anyone doubt Iran doesn’t know when a notorious al Qaeda leader like this is in their country? OK, anyone who is not suffering from terminal BDS? Democrats are such fools. Every success from here on will be viewed as in the context of their full retreat plans. They better save face and move the war funding fast, before they are the political walking dead. I am sure the Europeans are grateful we found this guy!

Source: The Strata-Sphere » Blog Archive » 7/7 Mastermind Caught In Iraq.

Pardon my speculation, but as soon as I learned that the Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi was the 7/7 London bombing mastermind, I couldn’t help but think that it was a bit singular that six former al Mujahiroun goons, including Abu Izzadeen who publicly supported the 7/7 terrorists, were arrested just days before the announcement that Abd al-Hadi was in U.S. custody.

Glen Jenvey has been insisting to me for some time that ever since the arrest of Abu Hamza (which he had a hand in) that Omar Bakri Mohammed, and his two right-hand men Abu Izzadeen and Anjem Choudary, were the face of al Qaeda in Britain. A charge that is backed up by hours of video and audio of the group supporting jihadists, including al Qaeda, and Omar Bakri Mohammed’s pre-9/11 boasting that he was the spokesperson for al Qaeda in the U.K., an affiliation he later denied.

But another fact suddenly comes to mind, something that didn’t really click until just now. The forum on which Izzadeen and other Bakri followers now congregate is called “Islam Base“. Al Qaeda literally means, “the Base“. *Rusty slaps forehead for overlooking the obvious*

And while the public Islam Base website has taken down literature written by Osama bin Laden, after we exposed them, in private forum members continue to exchange al Qaeda literature.

More about this man:

What is also noteworthy is al-Iraqi’s background in Saddam Hussein’s Army (pointed out to this site by Laurie Mylroie). During his military service over a decade ago, al-Iraqi worked his way up to the rank of Major before moving to Afghanistan to fight “jihad” against the occupying Soviet Union. This is not to assert that al-Iraqi maintained contact with Iraqi officials over the past decade (though many other Intelligence and Military officers from Saddam Hussein’s regime, who were later found to be assisting al Qaeda, reportedly did) but his knowledge of the country and contacts within Iraq certainly played a role in al-Iraqi being Osama bin Laden’s personal choice to monitor al Qaeda’s operations in Iraq. al-Iraqi’s military background likely was of great use in the terrorist training camp(s) he commanded in Afghanistan. Those camps were destroyed by U.S. forces in late 2001 around the same time that al-Iraqi’s funds were being frozen by the United Nations.

Don Surber points out that most of the best newspapers in the world -even British ones- have not even mentioned his connection with 7/7 bombings. Also in Wetworx and Captain’s Quarters Blog. More in Wake Up America, Instapundit [“Hey, wait — an “al-Qaeda leader” who’s also a “former major in Saddam Hussein’s army”? But I thought there was no connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Or between Al Qaeda and Iran”], Dinah Lord.

In Spain, I have found this news also in El Mundo and 20Minutes. They write about Guantánamo and CIA but nothing about the 7/7.

I have found it also in Le Monde, but it insists on Guantánamo -about whom there is a huge report at the right side of the page-, CIA and that this man was accused of trying to kill Pakistani President Musharraf.

Last but not least, he was planning more attacks against UK:

A recently leaked British intelligence report indicated Al-Hadi was planning a major attack against Britain prior to Prime minister Tony Blair steps down from office this spring. A letter captured by British intelligence from Al-Hadi stresed the need to take care to ensure that the attack was successful and on a large scale… The plan was to be relayed to an Iran-based Al-Qaeda facilitator.

Also another Al-Qaeda terrorist has been detained in Iraq. The US accuses him of working for Iran. Abu Mustafa Al-Shebaini is another “peaceful insurgent”:

Over the past eight months, his group has introduced a new breed of roadside bomb more lethal than any seen before; based on a design from the Iranian-backed Lebanese militia Hizballah, the weapon employs “shaped” explosive charges that can punch through a battle tank’s armor like a fist through the wall.

Well, these last days I have not blogged but this can show the level of idiocy that Public Spanish TV has.

We have known today that Iran is going to punish even further the women that do not use the veil:

So the Iranian women who dress Western-style will go to jail -although they do not know yet how much they will stay there). This measure is another step in the women’s repression due to the Islamists in the Ahmadenijad’s regime. Police -the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution- and the paramilitary named “basiyies” will pursue the women that won’t use the mandatory veil in Iran.

It is a fight “against the bad veil”, as it has been named by the official agency IRNA, whose objective is to oblige the Iranians to follow strictly the orders of the Shiite regime of the ultra-conservative Ahmadenijad.

The named “plan against the bad use of the veil”, has been used for some time but only in summer days, when the unbearable heat obliges women to take off a part of the veil or the “chador”, that covers all the women’s body from head to toe.

The first measure will be to “advise” women about the way to wear the veil. if they do not respect those rules, the 2nd step will be to take the “rebels” to the police station, where they will stay till a male/man from her family (the father or the husband) obliges them to use it in a correct way.

On Sept, 3rd,2006, SPanish Socialist ex-President González had defended Iran’s right to have the bomb.

But now Ahmadenijad has been interviewed by a Public TV Station TVE’s journalist Pepa Bueno, who wore the Islamic veil to prevent this type of punishment…. And what he has stated is more than interesting:

.

Iran wants the nuclear technology to promote “peace and brotherhood” with all the people of the Earth (kidnapping British soldiers is a signal of that peace and brotherhood…) and not to develop weapons of mass destruction. His religion, he said, obliges Muslims “to adore God and the dignity of men“. He also added that although his country is an important producer of gas and oil, those options are “not clean nor infinite” (now, it turns that Ahmi is an ecologist…). Metaphorically speaking, he said that if in a country “it rains a lot, it cannot be asked not to build dams to store rain water because it has a lot thanks to the rain” (what about the double use materials? can water be used to kill people massively? Yes, there are sea-catastrophes… but not produced by Human Beings…).ahmi Pepa Bueno

He also pointed that his regime is not scared by the sanctions which can be imposed by UN and European Union (I’m not surprised…). Those countries, he said “want to be above the law and to have the monopoly of the production of nuclear fuel” (hein??? He speaks about the law, the same law he has not fulfilled by not showinf the Iranian progresses towards uranium enrichment and not granting access to the AIEA inspectors??). He added, “we only want them to respect our rights”.

But let’s get on:

About the Iraqi situation, the Iranian leader pointed out that the Iranian people is “very annoyed” about what is happening, “because we did nothing to begin that conflict” (yes, the translation is correct…). “We”, he added, “want to help. We are ready to show the way”, and that “Baghdad authorities should “follow our friendly recommendations” that will lead them to peace (hein??? Does that sounds to you as bad as it sounds to me?). His main recommendation is that the “occupation troops” should go as soon as possible and leave the Iraqis decide about their future (with Iranian ayatollahs helping them to decide, making them friendly recommendations…).

In the interview, made in a garden (how bucholic…) he also spoke about USA and Israel, countries considered by Teheran as Iranian main ennemies. About USA, Ahmadinejad said “they are the ones who do not like to have relations with us. Iran has no problem to re-establish the relations with USA, even when they have a dominant position and an attitude [aimed at] not recognising other people’s rights”.

Of course, Ahmi respects every country under the sun and he proofs that when he speaks about Israel, the other main ennemy. “If he attacks us, we have the necessary potence to defend ourselves”

Pepa_Bueno con AhmadinejadPepa Bueno (left), ex-anchorwoman of a program called “Gente” (“People”, which main subjects were famous people and crimes), reminds him that recently the European Union has declared the denying of the Jewish Holocaust during WWII, a crime. Ahmi, so respectful, says that he “is surprised that Europe is so worried” about this “subject” that he considers a “historic” matter (attention to the “adjective”: historic).

The Iranian President, that denies again the Shoah, in which 6 million Jewish people were killed by the Nazis, underlines that just now “when anyone can speak about God, about the Prophet’s existence, why can’t we ask about historic matters? If a historic event has taken place, why is not permitted to investigate about it? When it is more investigated, we can make clearer the reality. Why is is a secret? what has inside that crime that can’t be investigated?“. (Hmm, Ahmi now has scientific anxieties. What about the survivors from Holocaust? What are they? And the concentration camps?).

But the interview goes on.

“If that even has happened, this event, where did that happen? What is the relationship with Palestine?”. At this point, he relates the Holocaust with the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. He accuses the first of killing men, children and mothers (what about women who are not mothers…) that “did not play any role in the WWII” (of course, nowadays terrorists have nothing to do with the WWII, but they are killed because they are doing that now. There are mothers who are teaching their sons and daughters how to commit suicide to kill others, and there are terrorists who hide behind “children and mothers” for the Israelis not to kill them…). About the Palestinians, he said he cannot understand “what has done the Palestinian people against them (Israel)” even when the “event” (that is the Shoah) took place “60 years ago”.

An Anti-Jewish treaty in three paragraphs.

And lastly there comes the best part of the interview:.

Mahmud Ahmadinejad states that in his country the women is present in all the areas of the society fulfilling important roles (oh, yeah. for example: has any of you seen his wife/s? He is constantly on the news, has he appeared ever with them?). “In Iran, the women are the most beloved beings in society and are more respected that anyone” adding that “women had more rights than men” (hein??? what?? the stonement of adulterers is a right??)

He also advised Pepa Bueno (hmm, advised to a woman…) to “walk along the streets and to have a vision of our people“, sure that in his country there is freedom of expression although respecting the law.

He also mentioned Spain:

Ahmadineyad también tuvo palabras para España, “un país muy grande que comparte con Irán muchas cosas, tanto en la filosofía de vida como en aspectos culturales”.

A very great country, that has a lot of things in common with Iran, both in the phylosophy of life and in cultural aspects“.

I wrote about this journalist some weeks ago when he was expelled from Spanish newspaper El Pais because he did not had the same ideas as the directors. He has spoken about Spanish situation with Spanish political platform Bastaya.org, dedicated to fight against ETA. Translation below:

Fearful and foolish at the same time, sectarians, uncultivated and just because of that, insensitive to any critic, this people are nearer the aparatchiks of the totalitarian regimes than to the humanist politic of an open democratic society“. That’s how Hermann Tertsch defines the generation of Socialist politicians grouped under the figure of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

The experienced journalist, recently expelled from El País has been interviewed by the digital diary www.bastaya.org, describing Zapatero as a “moral and politician autist that has no healing” reason why he considers that he “should be much more feared“.”The best thing that could happen to Spain’s history is that Zapatero is no more than a tradical and grotesque anecdote. Just by self-esteem“, he states.

Hermann Tertsch, international journalist and analyst, believes that Zapatero knows that his political life depends only of the caprice or convenience of the ETA terrorists and is not able to govern the Spanish citizens“. “Zapatero has evolved into a danger in itself.

Tertsch considers that “the new generation that comes to power under Zapatero and only thanks to an unbelievable sum of surprising accidents, can be safely considered as the worst of the Spanish society since the end of Franco’s regime“. He also considers that “their common characteristics are the mediocrity and a relativism so deep that their members are perfectly immune to any reasons that are not in their sectarian lethany“.

I can see why he was expelled…

This comes as The Economist and the Financial Times have also critisized Zapatero:

The foreign press is critisizing more frequently the economic policy of Zapatero. The Financial Times considers that Spain has a “vulnerable status“, something in which it agrees with The Economist. It has accused Zapatero of hiding his lack of success in antiterrorist policy by pointing the public’s attention on the economical data and of doing nothing to continue the expansion of Spanish economy, expansion which was made possible only by Aznar’s Government’s reforms. It considers that the acts of Zapatero are “very near arrogance” and of doing very little to reduce the economy’s problems.

The three main elements that are maintaining the Spanish economic boom are: the European low interest rates, the employment of a large stock of non-working people and an out-of-order building boom. A very vulnerable cocktail […] specially when it is combined with a low growth of productivity, a very frail technological base and an obsolete education system. […] And all of that is worsened by the 2nd biggest deficit in commerical trade in the world, after USA, raising to, at least 107,000 millions last year, the equivalent to 8.8% GDP“.

Some days ago I posted about the demonstration held in Madrid against the concession of the 2nd grade to ETA terrorist De Juana Chaos. I also mentioned that there were a lot of people -especially Socialists, Communists and Nationalists- had protested over it in very angry terms.

But last week, something happened which is very grave. As much of you know El País is the most re-known Spanish paper abroad. It belongs nowadays to a holding, named PRISA, who is owned in a very important part by Spanish multimillionaire Mr. Jesús de Polanco. He made his fortune during Franco’s dictatorship selling books for students in low grades and then he made his empire grew into the most important Spanish communications holding. It includes radios (40 Principales -pop music-, Cadena Ser -information and general-, Cadena Dial -Spanish traditional and folk music-), TVs (Cuatro or Canal+), many newspapers (among others, EL Pais), several editorials (such as Alfaguara), and much more. He had also interests in South America.

After Franco died, he understood that democracy made his empire a little more fragile, as the priviledges he had within the dictatorship ended with it. So, he allied with the Socialists. I even remember that a Norwegian minister said once: “I have seen many parties which owned MSM, but this is the 1st time I see a political party owned by the media“. When I told this a friend some years ago, he told me “that Norvegian is a fascist”….

El Mundo newspaper [in its paper edition of Monday 26th, 2007, 3rd page] mentions all the priviledges that PRISA has had:

Political favours from the residual Fraco-ism when Arias Navarro authorised the publishing of El País, directed then by someone who was considered as Franco’s supporter, some months earlier than all its competitors. Political favours of the UCD [Unión de Centro Democrático = Democratic Center Union] when they authorised and made easy by the Suarez’s Government, the Cadena Ser buying at a ridiculous price. Political favours of Felipe González when they gave PRISA a pay-per-view television in a process founded in the public interest and when they let them merger with Antena 3 Radio illegally [according to a Supreme Tribunal Sentence]. Political favours with the Aznar’s Governments when they elude to execute that Supreme’s sentence and when they authorised the merger between Canal Satélite [from PRISA] and Vía Digital [From Telefónica] that in practice was only a concession of the monopoly of the pay-per-view TV. And political favours from Zapatero’s Government when they have transformed the licence of Canal + into a non-pay-per-view TV [la Cuatro] and modified the radiophonic legislation not to execute definitely the Supreme’s sentence“.

Anyway, both abroad and at home the holding had had a very good reputation as objective and just media.

But not any more, among a broad segment of Spanish society. The partial news they write or read in the radio had made a lot of people even erasing there radios or TVs from the machines at home, at office or in their cars. The newspaper that after the 9/11 attacks titled his edition of the day as “The world, waiting for Bush retailation”, is hated by ones and loved by others.

And these feelings had been deepened by the statement Mr. Jesús de Polanco gave last week at the Annual Gathering of Stakeholders of his holding. This statement runs:

It’s very difficult to be neutral when everything is one of the parts here things anythings is worth to get back the power“. “There are some people who want to go back to the Civil War. We have just seen a demonstration that was pure and hard Franco-ism. If this gentlemen regain power, they are going to come with a retaliation feeling, that, personally, scares me“. “If there was a right-wing party in Spain, laic, strong, with guts, Prisa will support it. It is what we are lacking of. We have already a left-wing party.”

In the same event, a stakeholder asked Polanco, why Hermann Tersch, a reknown journalist from El Pais was critisizing Socialist Government and what they were going to do about that contradiction. Polanco’s answer is an example of his own character:

That contradiction is now over. You will see it very soon, as the rest of the readers of the newspaper“.

The journalist had been fired because his ideological position was totally different from that of the holding. He had been a polemic journalist much critisized because he did not agree with the official line.

When the Government was all day speaking about the “fascists” and the “far-right”, he said:

“If an anticonstitutional flag or two, appear in a demosntration to which hundred of thousands of people there is no problem. In this country, there is no far-right: the elections tell you that, even there are a lot of people who want it to exist and a lot are also doing everything in their power to make it appear. I really believe that the people who try to generate and promote the far-right are in other places”.

He also called Castro the “sad Ceaucescu of the Antilles“, and he also supported Radio Cope which was threatened with an inmediate shut because the leading anchors were [and are] critisizing the Government. He said:

The quick deterioration of the Spanish political climate can have a lot of culprits. But the relentless pursuit of the offices and homes of members from political parties [remember that there was a brutal campaign of the anti-war hordes before the 2004 elections, in which lots of PP offices were broken into, PP militants and supporters were beaten and insulted continuosly, and then Zapatero considered those things as legitimate acts of freedom of speech] and to MSM, its worst and most grave expression yet, is an open, obscene and exclusive practice, but each day more frequently used by Catalan and Basque ultranationalist groups, some of them with political institutional bindings or not with the political party now in the Spanish Government.

It is an intolerable corruption of the democratic life that remembers me the harrasment of the members of German Nazi Party to the German and Austrian democratic media in the early days of Nazism and also to the agressions which were subjected the democratic media from the ultranationalists in the Balkans before and during the 90’s”.

So Rajoy has today asked why PRISA invites PP members if they are so bad.

In a breakfast organised by the Fórum Europa, Mariano Rajoy underlined that his party is independent, free, does not obey orders from nobody”, and it is only dependent on the Spanish people and their interests”. He was referring to the PP’s decision of not giving any more interviewes to PRISA group, in an answer that was afterwards strongly cheered by the people attending the meeting.

Spanish writer Almundena Grandes says that “each morning she would shoot people who make her mad“. She writes for PRISA.

Ex-Defense Minister José Bono [his father was a member of Falange, the political party supporting Franco] says that PRISA will make sure that PP pays for this decision. Ejem. This said by the same Minister who declared that “he preferred to die than to kill” so he had ordered the troops “not to shoot anyone when in combat in Afghanistan“… makes me wonder: if he was so brave as to die without killing the enemy -apart from not understanding war…-, why on earth is he considering fear about the consequences this acts for PP?

There are also MSM and politicians who have critisized PP’s decision not to go to PRISA’s MSM. It is necessary to mention that PSOE is boycotting TeleMadrid and other Regional Public TV’s from PP-leadered Autonomous Communities, simply because they thought that these MSM were not neutral.

I agree with PP decision, I think they should have taken this decision long ago.

And it is curious that no one is commenting about Tersch’s sacking as a full violation of the freedom of expression in this country. But they are considering that, after being gravely insulted, one should go there to kiss their asses. No, thanks, democracy was made to defend normal citizens from abuses. And the abused here is not PRISA but Tersch. One reasonable leftist man.
