Hmm, these are the kind of news that make me vomit. How on earth people can be sooooo brute???? I’m going to name this kind of news “World’s going nuts” 😡

A security video from an apartment hallway shows at least 10 witnesses ignored a woman’s cries for help for more than an hour as a man beat and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors in Minnesota said.

The surveillance video clearly showed men and women looking out their apartment doors or starting to walk down the hallway before retreating as the woman was assaulted for nearly 90 minutes, police spokesman Tom Walsh said.

Police said they responded to a call of drunken behavior and found Somali immigrant Rage Ibrahim, 25, and a woman lying unconscious in the hallway early Tuesday. The woman’s clothing had been pulled up and she had fresh scratches on her face and blood on her thigh, according to the criminal complaint.

Ibrahim says he is innocent and that the incident was a misunderstanding, according to Omar Jamal, the executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, who spoke on Ibrahim’s behalf.

Ibrahim says he is innocent and that the incident was a misunderstanding“. Yeah, right. And I believe that.

More about this here: It should be noted that this Jamal slug was convicted of lying to immigration officials and should have already been deported. Law was not fulfilled and a woman was attacked. The every-day’s tale… 😡

And father of 7-Year-Old Boy accused of biting Son’s Toes. He bited his son “hard enough to cause deep bruising and crack his toenails“. My goodness, the world is going nuts… 😡

From Life Site.Net:

A peaceful pro-life witness was violently assaulted outside an abortion site on Tuesday. Police responded late to his 911 after he was beaten by an unknown visitor to the clinic.
Early on Tuesday morning August 21, three Rockford pro-lifers-Ken Plez, Pat Brady and Kevin Rilott-were praying quietly in front of the Northern Illinois Women’s Center (abortuary) for an end to abortion. A large white truck pulled into the clinic parking lot, and without setting foot on the clinic property, Rilott approached and tried to talk to the people inside.
In a detailed account of the event Rilott described how the pro-choice man got out of his truck and approached him, saying, “You shouldn’t be here, you’re upsetting my wife.” He then began to hit Rilott in the chest, ribs, and stomach. Rilott did not strike back at the man, but managed to call 911. As he was being beaten, he begged for immediate police assistance.
He told his pro-abortion attacker that the police were on the way, but the man said he didn’t care. The assaulter also said that “after he bonded out” he would come back and get him. After breaking Rilott’s sign, the man then went into the abortion clinic.

In India, sex-selective abortions are rocketing. The reason?

A large portion of the Indian population believes that male children enable families to survive and ensure that their parents will be taken care of. Female children are considered a burden for whom parents will have to shell out expensive dowries, which leads many to elect to abort them.

On the other hand, a 2001 census revealed that there were 927 girls for every 1000 boys among children younger than age 7, as opposed to 945 in 1991. Last month, police discovered thirty bags full of aborted and newborn babies in a well near a clinic in eastern India.

Meanwhile, a huge explosion in India has killed at least 44 people. According to CNN, “militants” were responsible for it:

“These are things that will not be openly discussed … we can comment when the investigation is complete,” Home Secretary Shivraj Patil said at a news conference in Hyderabad.

In earlier news conferences, local officials placed the blame squarely on Islamic militants.

Available information points to Pakistani and Bangladeshi groups being behind the blasts,” Y.S.R. Reddy, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh state told reporters. The minister earlier said “this is definitely terrorist activity,” and urged everyone to stay calm.

Moroccan Islamists support pragmatism (well they are going to present themselves to the elections, so it’s better for them to seem moderate. Link in Spanish):

The Party of Justice and Development (PJD), the main Islamist party in the oposition, is going to present a program in which the daily worries of the voters will be the first objective instead of religion in the campaign for the parliamentary elections of September 7th, according to its leader.

Experts consider it’s possible the party will obtain more MPs and could be the main group in an election where more than 30 parties will concur to.

Observers see the result as a measure of the level of disillusion with the liberal and laic elites who have been in charge in Morocco for the last 50 years.

The Parliament only has limited powers in the North African country, where the King Mohammed VIth, controlls all the main sectors from the Army to the religious affairs, and can name the Prime Minister and “veto” laws.

Some analysts say that in any case the elections will help to revitalise some aspects of the body of the governing elite.

“Our agenda is inspired without doubt in our Islamic surrounding, but in an Islamic surrounding linked to the voters’ needs”, told Reuters the PJD’s leader, Abdelilah Benkiran.

[…] “Frankly, the citizens won’t vote for us if we go to the elections to impose the veil on women, the bears on men and to all the people to make them go to the mosque”, he added.

Just let them take power. After four or five years, we speak about this.

About children abuse: Kids forced into domestic servitude in Haiti:

Evans Antoine wakes at 7 a.m. and dusts himself off from his night on the floor. While other children in his middle-class neighborhood overlooking the Haitian capital head to school, the 15-year-old puts on toeless sneakers and gets to work washing dishes, scrubbing floors and running errands at the market. He also works in the yard and sometimes wields a scythe in the family’s fields.

There is little reward for his toil, except for food and a roof over his head. And often, the quality of his work isn’t good enough; his caretakers sometimes hit him with a switch or slap him on the back of the scalp. Once they tied his hands and put a bag over his head before beating him with a stick.

This has been his life for the past three years.

Read it all. Specially interesting is this paragraph: “Haiti revolted against French colonial rule and became the first “black republic” in 1804. With newly emancipated slaves in power, it also became the first nation to outlaw slavery. Dependent on coffee and sugar, however, Haiti kept the plantation system after the revolution, requiring “mandatory labor” of many citizens. The masters were no longer white, but working conditions improved only marginally“.

The proof that changes sometimes don’t change anything really. Just another people step on charge.

More news from Iran: as ever not very promising:

Iran vowed Sunday to use a new 2,000-pound “smart” bomb against its enemies and unveiled mass production of the new weapon, state television reported.

The government first announced development of the long-range guided bomb Thursday, saying it could be deployed by the country’s aging U.S.-made F-4 and F-5 fighter jets.

“We will use these (bombs) against our enemies when the time comes,” Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on state television Sunday.

Iran often announces new weapons for its arsenal, but the United States maintains that while the Islamic Republic has made some strides, many of these statements are exaggerations.

In China they continue with their magnificent view of Human Rights:

A prominent bishop of the underground Catholic Church in China was arrested on August 23, apparently to prevent him from distributing the Pope’s message to the Church in China.

Bishop Jia Zhiguo of the Zheng Ding diocese was taken into custody on Thursday morning, the US-based Cardinal Kung Foundation reports.

The bishop’s arrest came after several days of tight surveillance in his residence. The Cardinal Kung Foundation reports that visitors to the bishop’s home were held and interrogated by police before being released.

But religious persecution does not only exist in China. In Uzbekistan:

When seven police officers with a video camera raided his home on Sunday morning, 29 July, Nikolai Zulfikarov was away. But this did not stop prosecutors launching a criminal case to punish him for “illegally” organizing a religious community, with a possible sentence of five years’ imprisonment. The small Baptist congregation that meets in his home in the eastern Namangan Region refuses on principle to apply for state registration. One local Baptist told Forum 18 News Service that prosecutors wanted to sentence Zulfikarov immediately, but now there is “total silence”. He added that “it is not clear if this means they will abandon the attempt or if they are moving stealthily behind the scenes”.

More worrying news for Musharraf:

Another defeat for President Gen. Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan’s Supreme Court has narrowed the options for the U.S.-allied military leader as he seeks to extend his rule.

Thursday’s ruling that his arch rival, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, whom Musharraf ousted in a 1999 coup, can return from exile leaves the general vulnerable at home and abroad ahead of crucial elections.

Talks with another ex-prime minister on a pact that would keep Musharraf in office are proving tough. And U.S. impatience with his failure to eliminate Taliban and al-Qaida strongholds near the Afghan border is growing.

Driven by a clamor for the restoration of democracy, the military-led government has responded with calls for national reconciliation.

But Musharraf “is hardly talking from a position of strength,” the Dawn newspaper said in a weekend editorial. Talks with his opponents “must have a one-point agenda: a truly free and fair general election.”

In Brussels they are forbidding Sept 11th’s demonstration against Islamic terrorism, and yet they are letting a Pro-Hizbullah group’s demonstration:

The Arab-European League (AEL), a pro-Hezbollah organization of Arab immigrants in Belgium and the Netherlands, is rallying its members to march in Brussels on 11 September “against Islamophobia and racism in Europe.” The AEL demonstration is a response to the request by the Danish-British-German organization Stop the Islamisation of Europe (SIOE) for permission to demonstrate on 9/11 in front of the European Union’s buildings in Brussels against the introduction of Sharia laws in Europe.

Two weeks ago the SIOE demonstration was banned by Freddy Thielemans, the mayor of Brussels. According to Mr Thielemans the SIOE demonstration is a criminal offence because it “incite[s] to discrimination and hatred, which we usually call racism and xenophobia. [This] is forbidden by a considerable number of international treaties and is punished by our penal laws and by the European legislation.”

Of course, Hizbullah’s members are peaceful, respectful of other people’s lifes and caring. As I said, the world’s going nuts…

Hillary Clinton’s remarks about terrorism are just very similar to the ones made by James Clayburn about Iraq:

“There are circumstances beyond our control, and I think I am better able to handle things I have no control over,” she said. “It’s a horrible prospect to ask yourself ‘What if? What if?’ But if certain things happen between now and the election, particularly with respect to terrorism, that will automatically give the Republicans an advantage again, no matter how badly they have mishandled it, no matter how much more dangerous they have made the world,” she said. “So I think I’m the best of the Democrats to deal with that as well.”

Nigeria: From Gateway Pundit: Angry Muslim Mob Storms Prison to Lynch Homosexuals. A prison guard has been injured. Will all the Gay Pride’s organisers say something about this? Eehh, no, that’s only said if they are Christian and preferably Catholics the ones who critisize the right to marry. That is an offense grade A. But if fundamentalist Muslims do it, ehh, welll, then it’s only an offense grade Z, at the most…

More about HuT and the Global Caliphate: Hyscience. And it’s not the only group claiming for it: specially in Internet, this kind of ideas are proliferating.

And now for some Catholic news:

Pope Benedict XVI explains last Sunday’s Gospel:

The way to eternal life is narrow because it is demanding, requires commitment and denial of one’s own selfishness, Pope Benedict XVI said today in his Sunday angelus address. He was referring to today’s Gospel in which Jesus calls on his followers to strive to enter the “‘narrow gate’ to eternal life, because many shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able”.

“What does the ‘narrow gate’ mean?”, the Pope asked pilgrims gathered in the courtyard of his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo. “Why do many not succeed in entering through it? Is the way reserved for just a few elect?”

The Pope said it is often a trap and a temptation to interpret this passage as a reference to religious practice as a source of privilege or security. But in reality, “the message of Christ is actually quite the opposite”, the Pope explained. “All can enter eternal life, but for everyone, the door is narrow. They are not privileged. The path to the eternal life is open to all, but it is narrow because it’s demanding, asks for commitment, abnegation, and the mortification of selfishness”.

As a result of the stress and lack of tranquility of modern life:

More and more Italians, tired from the routine and noise of the city, are opting to spend their vacations in monasteries and convents that offer them a time of reflection and contact with nature.

Many religious communities—even cloistered convents–have opened their doors to young people and families to join in their daily life of prayer and activities, as well as to listen to their concerns and provide them spiritual guidance.

I think I’m going to book a holiday like that… when I have time for it! 😆

Daimnation!: The root cause of the violence in Darfur

According to the new UN Secretary, it’s all about global warming [excerpts out of sequence]:Two decades ago, the rains in southern Sudan began to fail. According to U.N. statistics, average precipitation has declined some 40 percent since the early 1980s. Scientists at first considered this to be an unfortunate quirk of nature. But subsequent investigation found that it coincided with a rise in temperatures of the Indian Ocean, disrupting seasonal monsoons. This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming.

It is no accident that the violence in Darfur erupted during the drought. Until then, Arab nomadic herders had lived amicably with settled farmers. A recent Atlantic Monthly article by Stephan Faris describes how black farmers would welcome herders as they crisscrossed the land, grazing their camels and sharing wells. But once the rains stopped, farmers fenced their land for fear it would be ruined by the passing herds. For the first time in memory, there was no longer enough food and water for all. Fighting broke out. By 2003, it evolved into the full-fledged tragedy we witness today…

At this point, nothing surprises me about this man at all. But Darfur conflict is mainly an ethnic and religious conflict in which the Government, arming and unleashing the Janjaweed militias, has caused an ethnic and religious cleasing of, firstly, the non-Muslims (Christians and Animists) and of the Black Muslims, afterwards, when the first ones were virtually exterminated. Of course, the huge sea of oil under Darfurian soil has also have something to do with it, specially for China, who is aggresively exploiting it. Hmm, no more blood for petrol!! Eeh, no, it’s China, all for the people…

But of course, for Ban Ki-Moon, the most important reason of all, is the climate change induced, to some extent, by man. Of course, the extent of this man’s influence is not even measured…

Alex de Waal is one of the most important experts on the Horn of Africa: Chasing Ghosts: Alex de Waal on the rise and fall of militant Islam in the Horn of Africa (2005):

Khartoum had been saved from certain military defeat when its adversaries fell out among themselves. In May 1998, Eritrea and Ethiopia went to war over their disputed border, and a couple of months later Ugandan and Rwandan troops fought each other in the occupied Congolese city of Kisangani. As the attempt to found an Islamic state was running into the sand, so was the rival left-wing project of revolutionary militarism. The guerrillas-turned-governments in the four ‘frontline states’ were, like the Sudanese leaders, concerned only with staying in power.

This parallel is more than a neat coincidence. The radical Islamists and their regional enemies shared ideological fervour and organisational discipline. Both believed that enduring problems of state and society could be overcome by revolutionary change; and, as this failed, both reverted to simple power politics. Like other political creeds, jihadist Islamism is shaped by the contours of local politics – and sometimes it vanishes into the landscape.

The demise of grand ideology in the Horn did not mean the end of violence or militancy. Various ideologies have emerged from the ruins of the Islamic state project. Most are regional or tribal. In Darfur and Chad, Arab supremacism took over. Leaders of the infamous Janjawiid militia adhere to the philosophy of Qoreish, according to which the lineal descendants of the Prophet Muhammad and his Qoreish tribe are entitled to rule Muslim lands. This supposedly gives the Arabic-speaking Saharan Bedouin of the Juhayna confederation the right to dominate all the land between the Nile and Lake Chad. While US Special Forces chase a handful of jihadists in the mountains of the central Sahara, they have overlooked this vicious and archaic ideology, which has spread far more havoc just a few miles to the south.

Jihad in Sudan? What Jihad in Sudan? by Robert Spencer – HUMAN EVENTS

For a decade Khartoum has waged what the regime itself calls a jihad against Christians and tribalists in the South. A 1992 fatwa issued by a group of pro-Khartoum Sudanese imams declared: “An insurgent who was previously a Muslim is now an apostate and a non-Muslim is a non-believer standing as a bulwark against the spread of Islam, and Islam has granted the freedom of killing both of them.” This allowed for the murder of Christians and animists in the south; now it has been turned against the Muslims of Darfur, whose Islam doesn’t measure up to Khartoum’s hardline standards. Yet Annan has never acknowledged that what is going on in Sudan is a jihad. And this is just one manifestation of the by-now inescapable fact that the United Nations is damaged beyond repair. The Islamic states maintain an unbreakable solidarity. The only exception to their unwillingness to condemn other Muslim states came when Saddam Hussein’s Iraq attacked Kuwait.Meanwhile, the Europeans and Chinese have oil interests in Sudan that dovetail nicely at the UN with the Islamic bloc’s determination to repel any criticism. France, the most energetic opponent of UN sanctions against the Khartoum regime, is heavily invested in Sudan through its oil giant ElfTotal.

The emperor has no clothes, but Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Physicians for Human Rights and
Oxfam are still paying enthusiastic obeisance. A perusal of each of their websites demonstrates that they criticize the UN only with extreme reluctance and in the most muted tones. In a startling recrudescence of the old “white man’s burden” mentality, they tend to focus more anger at the United States and Western Europe for failing to stop killings than at the murderers themselves. And above all, they won’t describe the conflict as what it really is: a jihad, another example of the crying need for large-scale reform within Islam.

Well, Sarkozy has apparently changed the French ideas in this respect, firstly, calling for a Chinese intervention in the crisis, something very dificult to achieve considering the Chinese practices in Sudan. And secondly, by making Darfur, one of his priorities.

Well, our beloved Ahmadinejad said that in Iran, “women’s rights are more respected than men’s“. That is why they are now issuing an “Islamic bycicle” for women:

Iran will make “Islamic bycicles for women, thought to hide the feminine forms by a cabin which would cover half of the body.
“This project will promote the practice of sport by women”, said Elaheh Sofali, one of the women who are responsible of the project”, according to the Government’s newspaper.
Faezeh Hachémi, daughter of ax-Iranian President Rafsandjani, ex-responsible of the women’s Olympic sport, tried to develop cycling between women in the 90’s, but this decision did not have the hoped success because of the opposition of the conservative religious bodies.

Conservative? I guess the culprit is Aznar, again…

Kamangir has more about this, including this photo:
At the same time, the Iranian regime continues to crackdown on the feminist movement in Iran with no aid from feminists throughout the world.

Despite the constant harassment of its members, the Iranian feminist movement is growing and is alarming the government,” Reporters Without Borders said in a statement. “The Internet is now a battle-ground between these women, who are just demanding the same rights as men, and a regime that remains as rigid as ever.”The series of arrests are an indication that the small progress that had been made under the former reformist president Mohammad Khatami is now being rolled back by his successor, the hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, since he was elected in 2005.

The Iranian police are also ramping up their inspections of women to ensure they are adhering to the Islamic dress code. The annual spring offensive to make sure women are covering up enough has been particularly strict this year. And the government in Tehran is now drafting a law to limit female students to half the places in college, instead of the 65 percent they currently occupy.

At the same time, Iran can be as close as 12 months away to gaining the ability to produce the nuclear bomb.

Iran has also jailed an Iranian-American journalist who converted from Islam to Judaism and also a top blogger, who is accused of … being a spy!

But the most outstanding measure of idiocy in Iran is that they are also arresting DOGS!! (here). And they are also confiscating cars for carrying the dog inside h/t Gateway Pundit.

Norwegian-Iranian Mamand Mamandy had a brutal meeting with police after drinking two beers while on holiday in Iran. He was sentenced to 130 lashes. This is the result:Hmm, yes,

Lastly, men and women will be separated at hospitals. h/t Stefania.

Iranian health minister Kamran Bagheri Lamkarani has presented a reform under which men and women would be divided in public hospitals under a new moralization campaign which kicked off last month. Under the new provisions, women would be treated only by female doctors and nurses and male patients would only be in contact with medics of the same gender. This follows a rigid interpretation of Sharia law which forbids physical contact between men and women.A major problem with this change is the higher number of male medics compared to women, although 67 percent of medical students in Iran are today women. However, the ministry has said the change could be gradual.

Before 14:00: very high turnout at French elections: 34,11%. Le Salon Bleu:

A la même heure, ce taux avait été respectivement de 26,2%, de 29,6%, de 28,5% et de 30,2% lors des quatre précédents scrutins présidentiels de 2002, 1995, 1988 et 1981.

Yesterday cars were burned in Paris by … far-leftists. More about the burned cars here.
Mme. Royal said that if Sarkozy was elected, the streets would be full of violence. Of course she did not say who was going to make the violence. Mr. Sarkozy considers that “this is like saying: Vote for me, and everything would be peaceful or vote for Sarkozy and it would be the war. Mme Royal has insulted all the people who voted for me on the first round“. Interview with Sarkozy by Le Parisien.
Alarming news: Maybe John Kerry should have tried this approach. About the violence… 😉
Anyway, riot police has been deployed just in case… Sarkozy wins. And more than 3000 policemen are waiting also … just in case the same..

Anyone remembers something?? March 2004 Spanish elections perhaps?? “People surrounding Popular Party offices and calling their supporters murderers were exercing their freedom of expression”, Zapatero dixit.

Reuters: Sarkozy camp confident as French vote in election.

Now:

ExtremeCentre.org:

IHT: Sarkozy wins elections in France. 53-47.

His comfortable victory could give Sarkozy’s Union for a Popular Movement party
the momentum to win a majority in Parliament in June, cementing his power to
implement far-reaching reforms in Europe’s third-largest economy. He wants the
French to work more and pay lower taxes.

Well, just in case, all the votes have not been considered, so we will have to wait. Although the fact that Royal has recognised in a specch her defeat can be considered as a sign that this result could be the definite.

If Sarko wins, French singer Johny Halliday is going to sing in the victory’s celebration.

I love NYT. They are sooooo idiot that I laugh every time I read the news: Forget Who’ll Win in France. Change Is a Loser. Isn’t it lovely???

It was the French, after all, who first observed, “the more things change, the more they remain the same.”
“I have the impression that things will move, yes. But will France resemble Britain? No,” said Michel Winock, a French historian, referring obliquely to Margaret Thatcher’s 1980s showdown with British unions and the eventual economic boom her policies helped bring. “We have traditions, attitudes, an attachment to social welfare and, even if change is desirable, we won’t accept change overnight.”

Hmm, yes, well, if they have finally voted Sarkozy that means that even French traditions can change…
In ExtremeCentre.org one commenter writes this annecdote:

Haaretz told some months ago about the mistreatment that the Ségo’s speaker made to the representant of the Jews in France. When the representant of the Jews Council approached him, Julien Dray shouted at him: “You have sold your soul to the other side; we don’t want anything with you. Go back to your friend Sarkozy, that is your owner“. When the representant of the Jewish Council tried to reason with him, he went even more mad: “You’re going to pay for your unilateral joining. Ségolène is going to be the President and you’will need to pray to be received by her“. Nidra Poller mentions the incident here.

A lot of people laughed or were deeply worried when it was known that Zapatero’s party was supporting that the apes should have the same rights as the humans.
Now it is Austrian activists the ones who want chimpanzees to be considered humans:

In some ways, Hiasl is like any other Viennese: He indulges a weakness for pastry, likes to paint and enjoys chilling out watching TV. But he doesn’t care for coffee, and he isn’t actually a person — at least not yet.
In a case that could set a global legal precedent for granting basic rights to apes, animal rights advocates are seeking to get the 26-year-old male chimpanzee legally declared a “person.”
Hiasl’s supporters argue he needs that status to become a legal entity that can receive donations and get a guardian to look out for his interests.
“Our main argument is that Hiasl is a person and has basic legal rights,” said Eberhart Theuer, a lawyer leading the challenge on behalf of the Association Against Animal Factories, a Vienna animal rights group.
“We mean the right to life, the right to not be tortured, the right to freedom under
certain conditions,” Theuer said.
“We’re not talking about the right to vote here.”

Thank God…

Hiasl, a 26-year-old male chimpanzee looks through the glass at his enclosure at an animal sanctuary in Voesendorf, south of Vienna, on Friday, May 4, 2007. Austrian animal rights advocates are waging an unusual court battle to get the chimpanzee legally declared a “person.” Hiasl’s supporters argue that he needs that status to become a legal entity who can receive donations and get a guardian to look out for his interests. (AP Photo/Lilli Strauss)

Hmmm, a chimpazee can receive donations and get a guardian… I wonder what is the real motive for this activism.

When this was discussed in Spanish Parliament, some people investigated about the project called “Great Ape”. Its supporter, called Singuer, said this:

Q: You wrote in “Practical Ethics“: Killing a chimpanzee is worse than killing a human being who, being an innate intelectual disabled, would never be able to be actually a person“.
A: We have to be really sure that it is disabled person, so if a boy is not able to recognise people, nor to establish social relations, nor to enjoy his life, whereas the chimpanee has a much richer and more complex life that that human being that is deeply handicapped, I believe that then it is a loss of more little importance to kill that human being that a chimpanzee”.

So it seems that “practical ethics” are no ethics at all.

I am not in favour of torturing animals -in fact, you can see how a person is with humans if you see how he treats animals- or in making them any kind of harm. But legislations already have measures that punish people if they are mistreating animals. This type of measures are more of a phylosophic type than really needed. I mean, being considered as humans is not going to prevent them to be harmed. If there are people who torture other humans, kill, maim, what is the real protection for them?

No, the problem with these measures is that they are considering as more ethical the mistreatment and killing of disabled humans than the killing of a chimpanzee, something which is also bad. They are practically advocating for the euthanasia of disabled people but to respect a chimpanzee, to allow the law to give it donations and to name him a guardian. Don’t know but these type of measures always seem to be more motivated by money -imagine you’re the guardian of a famous chimpanzee who receive a lot of donations: you’re the one to administer his money, … with no opposition from his part, his family, etc.- than about real considerations for animals.
And then they tell you “he is not going to be allowed to vote”. I bet they were going to vote much more reasonably than some humans…

Well, at least they are paying the various wifes of polygamous husbands, without even knowing how many of these marriages there are in Britain.

Polygamous husbands settling in Britain with multiple wives can claim extra benefits for their “harems” even though bigamy is a crime in the UK, it has emerged. Opposition MPs are demanding an urgent change in the law, claiming that the Government is recognising and rewarding a custom which has no legal status and which is “alien” to this country’s cultural traditions.

Officials said yesterday a review was now under way into whether the state should continue to pay out income support, jobseeker’s allowance and housing and council tax benefits to ‘extra’ spouses.

Islamic law allows a man to take up to four wives, providing he can provide for them fairly and equally. But British law only ever recognises one spouse, while bigamy is punishable by up to seven years in jail. However, if a husband and his wives arrive and settle in Britain having wed in a country where polygamy is legal, then the UK benefits system recognises his extra wives as dependents and pays them accordingly.

The Department of Work and Pensions admitted yesterday it had no figures on how many families are claiming for multiple wives. Official DWP guidelines on housing and council tax benefit states: “If you were legally married to more than one partner under the laws of a country that permits this, then your relationship is called a polygamous marriage. “In this case your household consists of you and any partners who live with you and to whom you are married.”

Officials were unable to say when the rules were brought in, claiming they had “evolved over decades“.

Tory MP for Monmouth David Davies condemned the arrangements as “appalling“, and called for an immediate halt to the payments. He said: “People who come to this country must be prepared to abide by our laws and rules. Polygamy is completely alien to our cultural and legal tradition, and it’s disgraceful that our benefits system is recognising and rewarding it. “Why are some people in Government falling over themselves to undermine every tradition that has made this country what it is?

Are you shocked to discover that if a husband and his wives arrive and settle in Britain having wed in a country whe<re polygamy is legal, which includes most Islamic countries oddly enough, then the UK benefits system recognises his extra wives as dependents and pays them accordingly? Nope, me neither. Indeed when I then read that the Department of Work and Pensions has admitted it had “no figures” on how many families are claiming for multiple wives, I felt the same sense of despair as when I read that the Home Office has no figures as to how many illegal immigrants are in our country. Polygamy is illegal in the UK Yet the State funds those who practise it!

Well, this is another example of discrimination: why Muslims can be polygamous and the rest of the population is punished for that same reason? I think polygamy is hurtful for the women, as our dignity is totally crushed down. But, in case, we admit the polygamy for Muslims, why the rest of the population can’t be polygamous also?

But there is another one: if Islamic tradition lets Muslims be polygamous IF (and only IF) they can provide for their wifes fairly and equally, why on earth the women should have social subsidies? Aren’t the husbands obliged to treat them fairly? I just cannot understand the logic… beyond the fact that they are only buying a temporal peace from Muslims. You feel you are discriminated, honorable Muslim? Don’t worry, the taxpayers will pay…

I wrote here yesterday about them. But Yahel has more information of the operation:

When the cayuco was localised, the patrol ship tried to get nearer to intercept it. When they approached, they found something totally surprising: the immigrants were waiting for them with cocktail molotovs which were thrown into the patrol ship. Considering the hostility and the danger, the agents decided to draw a zodiac near them to try to reason with the immigrants and explain them what the situation was and that their only intention was to rescue them and drive them back to Mauritania, their place of origin.

In this ocassion, the immigrants attacked the zodiac with sharp objects to prevent the intervention of the agents from the Civil Guard. Viewing this could drown the zodiac, the agents went back to the patrol ship, and the cayuco fleed to the Canary Islands.

The cayuco arrived at the harbour of Arguineguín in yesterday at midnight after being localised in the Gran Canaria waters. An agent for the Civil Guard flew from Mauritania to the Canary Islands and identified some of the attackers among a group of 57 illegal immigrants, 2 of them minors.

After being identified they are going to be flown back to Mauritania where they will be processed by the attack.

The Government from the Canary Islands insisted yesterday that the number of immigrants arriving there have descended by 60%. But they have certainly grown in violence. With the politics of the Socialist Government of soft treatment to all thugs, I think this behaviour is going to grow.

But then Deustche-Welle writes this: Spain gets rich on cheap immigrant labor.

Atlas Shrugs reports that two Egyptian bloggers have been kidnapped by policemen. She quotes Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey who esteems that there is going to be a crack down on bloggers. That said the same day in which Kareem has been definitely condemned makes me shiver. The Court has also let some Islamist lawyers to ask him for compensations on the grounds of “damages to Islam“.

On the other hand, Kareem has been honoured in London with a prize, which rewards people for fighting for freedom of expression h/t Sandmonkey. At the same Awards -five were given-, Chinese oppositor Cheng Guangcheng (photo below), called “the barefoot lawyer”, was also honoured after been sentenced for four years in 2006 for denouncing the late abortions (as late as in the 8th months) and other practices used to ensure the one-child policy. Another proof that China is not changing at all…

Chen Guangcheng

But not only in Islamic countries there are problems with critics on Islamic matters. An Australian journalist, named Gavin King, has written an article in which he names a blogger, gives details about his life and tries to picture him as an hysteric anti-Muslim guy. After promising him he was going to keep his name secret. Sheik Yer’mami has been commenting at Jihad Watch for some time and also writes in his own blog.

Australian reporter Gavin King. I am not going to give my opinion…, because even if he is not in favour of Sheik’s opinion, why pointing him as an objective? And after promising him he was not going to out him.

_____________________________________

I have found it at Right Truth:

Global Warming Caused by Lack of Faith in Allah.

A LEADING Muslim cleric has blamed the devastating drought, climate change and pollution on Australians’ lack of faith in Allah.

Radical sheik Mohammed Omran told followers at his Brunswick mosque that out-of-control secular scientific values had caused environmental disaster.

“The fear of Allah is not there. So we have now a polluted earth, a polluted water, a wasteland,” he told a meeting this year.

“What are the people now crying for? The prophet told you hundreds of years ago, ‘Look after the water’.”

A Sunday Herald Sun investigation also found clerics railing against “evil” democracy, vilifying Jews and Christians and encouraging jihad and polygamy.

And in a popular DVD selling locally, a foreign sheik exhorts Muslims to take control of Australia by out-breeding non-believers.

Related posts: More hypocrites.

I was not going to blog about the so-called pornographic artist-ical photos Autonomous Government of Extremadura (PSOE) has paid for. But seeing the critics that Catholic, who have protested about them, are being made, I have to write a few lines.

Yes, I was a critic of Muslims who considered normal to kill, menace and even maim to the editor and cartoonists who had insulted Islam by portraiting Mohammed in a rather not charming way. But, milords, IT WAS A PRIVATE PAPER.

The difference here is HUGE. The most insulting cartoon was one of Mohammed portraited with a bomb as a turbant, but it is true that Mohammed was a warrior who killed people with swords. So, if he would have lived now, he would have used bombs, so it’s not very insulting.

But Virgin Mary did not masturbate Jesus Christ or Christ was a pedophile, nor can it be extracted from any part of the Gospel. Anyway, much more than the obvious pornographic considerations (and of really bad taste, and can something be called art if it’s of bad taste, if art is beauty’s portrait?), this is a work who has been sponsored by a PUBLIC institution, with the MONEY OF ALL TAXPAYERS, even the ones who ARE CHRISTIAN. Because, lately it looks like as if the other Christians do not get appalled by this kind of crap, made only by the author to get attention. Well, it really has to be hard to be so old and to be doing things like this to obtain glory in pornographic art.

Here, no one is demanding to kill the artist, just not to be sponsored by public money.

If not, all pornography should be banned, and no one is asking for that [or at least not me, even if pornographic magazines/videos/…. would be totally broke if they rely on me to buy them :D]. But in a free state, people should be allowed to buy whatever they want, either it’s wrong or bad, except when it’s a crime. And I really think that pornography sex is no more that the result of a prêt-a-porter and bad-tasteful attitude that is not contributing to make this world better at all. Things that really last (valor, honor, goodness, real love, etc) are not even considered -and normal people, like any one of us, should be blamed for nor stand for them- or considered as stupid considerations or of really unmodern taste. But that is MY own thinking and I am not the only one in this world.

Oh, and by the way, if these photos were shown in a private gallery, with the sponsorship of the Generalitat de Valencia (PP), I will critic PP by the same reasoning. These days looks like the only basis to defend PSOE attitudes is to say “you did it much more times and graver“. Spanish political climate reminds me to the primary schools when little children accused the others of having done the same or even more wrong, not to be punished.

Lastly, Zapatero said, when meeting Turkish Erdogan, that people should have respect for another people’s religion, about the cartoons. Well, I hope he will say something about this, but as Christian extremists are not supported by the normal Christian believer and what is more, the doctrine of love for all people even your enemy, is the basis, I think we are going to wait sat in a very comfortable chair. Though, of course, they are trying to raise those extremists continuosly but, at least for now, with very few success (thank GOD).

CONCLUSION: Each one in his/her house can do whatever they want. BUT NOT WITH MY MONEY. OR EVEN WORST: WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE MY MONEY FOR…

Sugiero: Filed a complaint against the photographer.

Extremadura Automous Community President, Socialist Rodríguez Ibarra, ask for forgiveness to “all the people who could have been offended by the pornographic photos of Jesus Christ and the Virgin”. But adds “Politicians do not have to like artistic expressions“… Hmm, of course, they are not paying them…. [Now, ask the author for the money and then pay him with your own purse]

He has also declared that “no one wanted to offend the Catholic Church“. Hmm, must not have read what the author-pornographic artist has said: “they are a critic to the Catholic Church with no intention of offending” (¡!) or “Other religions do not affect me, are not a part of my culture. I am not going to attack something I do not know. I have felt attacked by some things, by the double standard, and many other things that I am not going to tell you now“. In the era of Internet, of global communication, of world travels, an artist say there are things he does not know… So there are no cojones aren’t there? Ooh, I am so frightened by people who would attack me, I just do not want to even know of their existence… And he talks of double standards. Chicken. In another time, this man would have been the first going to have communion…

I wrote yesterday that the Israelis were presenting a song called Push the Button in which they mocked the Islamofascism. Well, the Eurovision Contest wants to ban it (HT: JW):

Eurovision’s organizers have already begun to consider banning Teapacks from the competition. “It’s absolutely clear that this kind of message is not appropriate for the competition,” contest organizer Kjell Ekholm said. “We’ll have all the delegation leaders here in Helsinki next week, and I’m sure we’ll talk about this case within the EBU [European Broadcasting Union] group.”

From VOA:

Holdren [Panel member from Harvard University], however, says even these measure will achieve very little unless they are accompanied by a global tax on greenhouse gas emissions. “We don’t think ultimately society will get it right in terms of the full range and scope of activities needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, until there is an additional incentive in the form of a price on greenhouse gas emissions, either through a carbon tax or a cap and trade approach,” he said.

HT to Klein Verzet who linked to Pajamas Media.

So this makes me wonder: who is going to regulate it? what is it main goal: to reduce emissions or to make money? who is going to collect this?

Al Gore, Al Gore… how much is he going to pay for this tax if it’s regulated at last? In any case with the money he earned by selling Spain his documentary (300.000€, HT Patria Libertad) he can pay it….

By the way, do you know Al Gore is the chairman of a firm which buys “carbon offsets” (HT Dust My Broom)?

Meanwhile, Gore runs around the country and the world trumpeting “climate crisis” and blaming man’s use of carbon-based energy – burning thousands of gallons of jet fuel as he goes. His efforts have served to put climate change at the top of the national and even global agenda, driving up the value of the stocks and companies viewed as “green” or environmentally friendly. Companies like those his investment management firm invest his own and other peoples’ money in. (You can see a list of Generation Investment Management’s holdings here, courtesy of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.)

So he spends a huge amount of energy for having a conditioned swimming-pool in his home and then he blames the rest of us for the climate change…. Admirable logic… What is more (carbon offset from Wikipedia):

The intended goal of carbon offsets is to combat global warming. The appeal of becoming “carbon neutral” has contributed to the growth of voluntary offsets, which often are a more cost-effective alternative to reducing one’s own fossil-fuel consumption. However, the actual amount of carbon reduction (if any) from an offset project is difficult to measure, largely unregulated, and vulnerable to misrepresentation.

But green business can be a good business, eh?

_________________________________

¿a qué irá destinado?

¿O no?

After the concentration of last Saturday (which was really a success, see videos here and photos here), De Juana was found in his hospital bed having “an intimate communication” with his girlfriend -photo, below- on Saturday at 23.00. When they were reprimanded by policemen and asked to stop, they did not even consider paying attention so they were separated and the girlfriend was taking out of the room.

The Batasuna-ETA’s propaganda said that De Juana, in a virile and brave act, had retired his way to be fed from his nose, because he was protesting as freedom had not been granted to him … yet. The real cause was that he was separated in the middle of the “intimate communication”.

Afterwards, on Sunday they were again “caught in the act” at 16:30, but this time they obeyed the policemen.

Spanish Interior Minister has maintained after this that De Juana does not have any privileges. [Of course not, comparing with the rest of the imprisoned guys who have to ask for a permission for having sexual encounters and can only do it in places specially set for that purposes…]

Anyway, De Juana is going to be on the streets again before next Tuesday. The only reason for this is that Zapatero wants to minimise the effect the excarcelation of the bloody ETA terrorist could have in the Local and Autonomous Community elections which will be held on May 27th.

If you want to help decent Spanish people, please sign the petition Hazte Oir.org has made. The text says that the bloody terrorist has not ask for forgiveness, has not repented from his crimes and, nevertheless, he has had a lot of privileges in prison. The letter finishes asking that the terrorist should finish his punishment till the last day.

Thanks to Elentir (1 y 2).

And a lot of leftists are happy about this…. What a shame!

The President of the National Front, Le Pen, has minimised 9/11 terrorist attacks in an interview which will be published on Wednesday,21st in “La Croix”. When the journalist is surprised by the expression used, he replies:

the 3.000 dead in N.Y attacks is the number we see in a month in Iraq and much less than the bombings on Marseille or Dresde at the end of WWII“.

He also said that Muslims are dangerous when they are in command and that Islam is a religion of conquer, while Christianity is not.

He has made today a call to all his supporters because he does not have enough signatures for presenting himself to the Presidency [here, in French, video from Le Monde].

Let’s hope/pray that there are not sufficient…

From The Sun Online (HT Right Truth):

Convicted drugs dealer Khayam, 22, had been filmed dressed as a bomber at the controversial demonstration outside London’s Danish Embassy last year.

He wore a sinister camouflage outfit with a black vest.

Extremists around him – protesting at cartoons of the prophet Mohammed – waved placards supporting the 7/7 London bombings and calling for new UK terror attacks.

Khayam was sent back to prison after officials ruled he had broken the terms of his early release.

He was due to stay behind bars until August 2007 but was AGAIN released early.

He now works nights at First Group’s huge depot in Bedford. When challenged about his job, he said: “So what? I’ve not committed a crime. If there is a concern, that’s what the police are there for. That’s what security services are for.”

Another example of Eurabian madness. Because it is not only that he is working for a train company, the curious thing is that he is working:

in a job giving him access to locked places on trains where bombs could be hidden and never be found.

He has keys that could be passed on to others for the electrical cupboards in carriages. It is a risk too far.”

No he cometido ningún crimen. Si hay alguna preocupación, eso es para lo que está la policía. Es para lo que están los servicios de seguridad“.
