This is also a roundup, but a very important one -this is not funny at all-:

  1. About the Guadalajara’s fire (in which there were killed 11 firefighters): “The report, 110 sheets, made by an expert engineer, considers that the tragedy was a a very grave chain of negligences. In 13 points, it summs up the errors and the lack of coordination, before, during and after the tragedy: from the lack of preventive measures to the lapse of time (16 minutes) to activate the first firefighters’ equipements. The document considers that the firefighting in the area is faulty, irregular and chaotic and asks why the victims were sent to an area, totally unknown for them, in the worst moment and with the worst weather conditions”.”Also, there are new tapes which have been realeased from June 17th 2005 -where the fire happened-, in which it is shown the lack of extintion measures, the existing lack of coordination and the time (more than 10 hours) that the victims’ relatives had to wait for some kind of official communication of what had happened”.
  2. You know I have been writing about the Spanish UN peacekeepers/soldiers killed in Lebanon. Well, Zapatero (Spanish PM) told the father of the of the soldiers in the funeral: “What a pity! He had gone to Lebanon to buy himself a car, hadn’t he?“. Imagine the expression of the father’s soldier. And imagine mine when I read it.smile_baringteeth
  3.  The ex-Delegate of the Government in Catalonia -Eduard Planells, who has now a wonderful job at National Telecommunications Commision– has been detained in an operation against the Russian Mob in Spain. Also Eduard Figuerola, the General  Subdirector of Industrial Policy of the Generalitat (Catalan Government) has been fired after been discovered he had child porn.. From El Cerrajero. Don’t know if the latter was caught in the last “Against child porn operation”.
  4. Multinational Merck is going to change Barcelona for Madrid as its social address. This has enraged the Catalan nationalists who consider that Spain “is much too centralised“. Hehehe, imagine for example: Health care: EVERY DAMNED PART of it is a competence of the Autonomous Community. Education is also a competence -mainly- of the Auonomous Community -so you can see in the text books things like “Castilla y León had a relationship with the Romans“, when Castilla y León is a kingdom in the Reconquest and during Roman dominion it was under the same province: Lusitania, of the three that Romans made here (the other were Tarraconensis and Baetica). The Generalitat has passed a law creating a self-Tax Agency which will make in not a very distant future, everything related to taxes. Yeah, of course, very centralised. The problem is that a lot of people is beginning to leave Catalonia thanks to the pressure of the nationalists. And that hurts.
  5. After the invention of the Little Red Star -that only thinking about it, makes me shiver-, the young Spanish Socialists ask for the legalization of the euthanasia and the vote at 16 years-old. About euthanasia, I’m totally opposed: it cannot be undone. About the vote at 16: if we have so many idiot voters, just have some more, totally influenced by the Education for Citizenship -anti-militar, pro-homosexual -in the worst sense of the world-, pro-Socialist, pro-Alliance of Civilizations, etc-.
  6. Vice-President De La Vega has asked MSM not to informe about what they know if it has something to do with ETA. Yeah, it’s much better to have everything under the blanket, specially if we consider that French PM Sarkozy already has the ETA-Spanish Government negotiation’s papers. Oh and if someone thinks he is going to be a good guy and denounce PM Zapatero for the contents of those papers, just read this post by Mike -really good blogger 😀 – and then think again. No, he is just going to use it in the EU negotiations against Zapatero… sooo, against Spain.
  7. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas: inquired on corruption charges. They -and other famous people- have created a lot of societies
  8. to whiten funds from dubious procedence.

About Ibiza I will write later, it’s very grave what it’s happening after the fuel from “Don Pedro” -a ship- began polluting all the sea.

read No Pasarán: The World can’t Wait:

after ZP won the general election in 2004 following the Atocha atrocities, he decided to present himself to the world as Blair had done in Britain – as the Great Peacemaker. Blair and his group had won the peace in Ulster, and ZP was going to do even better in the Basque Country – by hook or by crook. No-one, and especially no political party, would be allowed to block this crusade. If the chief opposition party found the peace process potentially explosive, or farcical, or a devilishly clever means by which ETA could recover from its then crippled and bankrupt state, and made this view public knowledge – then ZP and his companions would denounce the chief opposition party. They would be hounded in the socialist media, and on the Government-owned TV channels. They would be turned into an ogre by the Administration’s spokespeople. We would be taught to hate the Partido Popular.

Read it all. And yes, a lot more people than MSM tells -but not so many as I would like- are angry at this process.

Also the position of this Government with Cuba has been widely critisized. Now we know why Zapatero had this love relationship with Castro’s brothers:

Cuban dictatorship was used as a post office between Zapatero’s Government and ETA in their negotiations. According to El Mundo newspaper, the Government transmitted to some regime civil servants of the “precriminal detentions” the messages it wanted to send the gang. Cuba wrote them and handled them to the terrorists. This messages, even after the T-4 terrorist attack, were maintained till last april.

[…] The newspaper, in the editorial, maintains that the meddling of the Castroit dictatorship in the negotiations shows the “frailty of the relationship’s ways in which Zapatero was based to put into effect that ETA has already abandoned the weapons“. And reminds that “the president was depending on an intermediary, who was not only a dictatorship, but who has repeatedly shown their sympaties for a band with whom it has a common Marxist ideology“. It concludes that “if we were asking favors of this class to the Cuban government, it is logical to think that there was a price to pay. And that explains our shameful relationship with the Cuban dictatorship and their defense of the international institutions“.

And do you know why this was made? To prevent people to know what they were talking about.

And more:

This contact wasn’t direct at all, because the President Zapatero named a person with reknown international prestige who has been given important posts in other precedent Governments.

The Supreme Tribunal President, Hernando has spoken about this piece of news:

[He] has assured that the ETA’s post office exists and also confirmed that a judge is investigating the relationship between the Government and the terrorist band.

Hernando, who was inagurating in Aranjuez a course about ‘The Judicial Power and the other State Powers“, was asked about the journalistic informations which appeared in relation with the judicial investigations related with ETA.

He did not wanted to comment on them, stating that “normally those news reflect the truth, but in other occasions they are only mere speculations“.

Interior Minister Rubalcaba has stated that, in the course of the negotiations, there has been contacts with several countries. He also spoke about the latest ETA terrorists’ detentions:

The detentions made a week ago in Paris, were also the object of some questions to the Minister, who assured the journalists that the detentions of Iker Beristain and Liher Rodríguez, summed up to the great quantity of material used to falsify documents, can be considered as the end of the “falsification organization of the terrorist band”. Rubalcaba also told that the police operation has offered “lots of information” which is being analysed and could be relevant.

The Government also asked France to free two ETA terrorists with whom it wanted to negotiate last March. The petition was made on August 2006.

The answer from the French Government was negative. “The problem”, says El País, “is that, in the moment of their detention, the two ETA terrorists were driving a car who had false registration and one of them was armed. No mecanism of emergence can ever serve to protect people who are caught in a criminal act in French territory“.

El País, left-leaning Spanish newspaper, is surprised that in France the law is applied against terrorists. But then foreign people consider it the epitome of independent thinking and journalism…

By the way, tomorrow it’s the anniversary of the brutal kidnapping of PP Councilman of Ermua Miguel Ángel Blanco. He was found with a bullet inside his brain two days later and died that same night. A bus has been travelling throughout Spain remembering him.

The reaction to his death was unanimous. ETA felt the grasp of decent people for the first time. Policemen had to defend Batasuna’s offices.

That was 10 years ago. ONLY ten years ago.

Last news about the Yemen attack:

Reuters.uk – 56 minutes ago

SANAA (Reuters) – Yemeni authorities have arrested dozens of suspects linked to al Qaeda since Monday’s deadly suicide bombing that killed seven Spanish tourists and two Yemenis, security sources said on Wednesday.

A security official said they were still unsure whether al Qaeda was behind the attack at the Queen of Sheba Temple in the province or Marib.

“Tens of suspects who we believe have links to al Qaeda have been arrested in three regions, Sanaa, Abyan and Aden,” the official, who asked not to be named, told Reuters.

President Ali Abdullah Saleh, whose country joined the U.S.-led war on terrorism after the September 11 attacks, offered a $75,500 (3,716 pound) reward for information leading to the capture of militants behind the attack.

So, what they are going to do about them? (ehem)…
Survivor tells of ‘nightmare’ suicide attack Times Online

The Spanish Prime Minister was urged to adopt a tougher line on terrorism yesterday as opponents used the death of seven tourists in an al-Qaeda suicide bombing to assail his foreign policy.

Coming just a week after the deaths of six Spanish troops on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, the latest ambush sparked an angry debate in Madrid.

José Luis RodrÍguez Zapatero, the Prime Minister, expressed his “deep sadness” at the deaths of the tourists in Yemen. But the Government said that it had been informed that al-Qaeda had not specifically targeted the tourists because they were Spanish.

Mr Zapatero has also come under heavy criticism for the attack in Lebanon. Opposition politicians say the roadside bombing could have been averted if the troops had been given electronic jamming equipment.

Mariano Rajoy, leader of the conservative Popular Party, accused the Prime Minister of spurning allies like the US to focus on ineffective pet projects, such as his “Alliance of Civili-sations” initiative, designed to foster dialogue between Europe and the Muslim world.

“Thirteen of our countrymen have been killed by jihadi attacks in the space of just a few days,” Mr Rajoy said. “Terrorism must be fought with our allies, not with other [initiatives] that are good for nothing.” smile_teeth

Poor little thing, Zapatero, ehh? [*] Rajoy even told him “A President should govern and give explanations to the citizens, not cry in Parliament“.

Well, the reality is that the suicide bomber asked first “who are those people at the Temple?” and was answered that they “were Western tourists“. Then he disappeared from the scene and appeared again to plough the Jeep he was driving into the convoy.

So, this is even worst, they were against any Western tourist, without considering nationality, creed, race, etc. Is anyone hearing out here??? Anyone remembers the “Coalition against the Crusaders and Zionists” (1998, no Iraqi war, no Afgan intervention, no Lebanon UNIFIL troops)?.

They are not against us by what we make, but because of what we are.

Anyway, far leftist propagandist (self-called journalist) Enric Sopena has said in his on-line newspaper that “the shadow of the Azores’ photo -you know, the one, in which Aznar, appeared with Bush and Blair before Iraqi intervention- is beginning to look terrific“. Yeah, surely, because Spain is still in Iraq, right?. smile_baringteeth He also considers that the tourists were careless when they went on tourism to Yemen, because the Foreign Affairs Ministry advised against trips to that country… but the alert, which appears on the Ministry website, is a generic one, not concrete. Meanwhile USA advised their tourists to go with guide and military escort.

Sent to Open Trackback at Dumb Ox.

[*]this was said in the Debate of the Nation’s state, that today goes on. I will write afterwards or tomorrow about it…

At least nine people have been killed after a suicide bomber drove an explosives-laden car into a tourist convoy in Yemen. Seven Spanish tourists and at least two Yemenis died in the blast at the Queen of Sheba temple in Marib. About seven others were injured in the attack which the Spanish foreign minister said he “totally condemned”. 1183388826_extras_portada_6

Yemen has faced continuing unrest in recent years, which the government often blames on al-Qaeda operatives. An interior ministry official was quoted by the country’s state news agency as saying that the attack appeared to have been carried out by al-Qaeda. “Preliminary information indicates that the al-Qaeda organisation is behind the cowardly attack,” the official told the Saba news agency.

Witnesses said a vehicle entered a gate at the site, known in Yemen by its Arabic name Balqis, before it ploughed into the convoy of tourist cars and exploded. The victims were reported to belong to a group of around 14 Spanish tourists visiting the site, some 170km (110 miles) east of the capital, Sanaa.1183399544_extras_albumes_0

Witnesses said the bomb went off at around 1800 (1500 GMT) on Monday as the visitors were finishing a tour of the temple, built 3,000 years ago at the time of the Queen of Sheba. In recent year’s Yemen’s government has been fighting Islamists with the help of US special forces based in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa. Al-Qaeda has demanded the release of militants jailed in the country.

Attacks in Yemen:

  1.  October 2000: Seventeen US sailors die in suicide attack on USS Cole in Yemeni port
  2. October 2002: A similar attack against French tanker the Limburg kills one Bulgarian and wounds 12 others
  3. March 2003: A Canadian is killed and another wounded after a Yemeni gunman opens fire at an oilfield east of Sanaa
  4. September2006: Four bombers and a security guard die when Yemeni security forces foil suicide attacks against two oil refineries

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Yemen bomb kills Spanish tourists

As I have posted in the Spanish blog, the two Yemenis dead are the guide and the interpretor.

The others are wounded but only one of them is in the Intensive Care Unit, a woman in her thirties.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the authorities have moratinos UE.jpgblaimed it on Al Qaeda, whose leader, Bin Laden has Yemeni origins.

Spanish FM Moratinos has maintained constant contact with the Yemeni Foreign Viceminister who has given him the terrorist attack’s data and the condolences of the Yemeni people.

Judge Fernando Andreu (Instruction Judge nº4 of the National Court) has begun an investigation into the case.

Foreign Affairs Ministry has recommended “extreme caution” to tourists travelling abroad.

Spanish newspaper ABC.es writes:

In its slow progress through times, the Yemeni Republic has rigin laws. Their women maintain the most strict black clothing, which covers them all the face but their eyes [Note: that is called “niqab”] and its legislations includes the death punishment for homosexuals.

Yes, it is certainly an slow progress.

Anyway, we have to see the profound joke this means for Spanish Government. It is not Iraq, it is not Afghanistan, it is not … It is just ourselves, our history, our own past and present what makes us be the targets. Till Europe, US, Australia, etc. do not take into account that this is not of what we do, but what we are, the measures Government will take, will not be sufficient or will be directly incorrect. And people will continue dying. And the terrorists will continue their horror campaign.

– Ibiza airport was evacuated on Saturday, after a bomb warning upset the start of the peak holiday season on the Mediterranean island, Spanish police said.

Local media said the Interior Ministry had stepped in to deny earlier reports of a controlled explosion at the airport. Police, government and airport officials were unavailable for immediate official comment on the media reports.

Police evacuated the airport after Basque newspaper Gara, used by the armed separatist guerrillas ETA to distribute information, received a telephoned warning of a bomb, Gara said on its website. But the caller did not say who they represented, which is usually the case with ETA.

Ibiza has long been a magnet for thousands of British and German holidaymakers and flights were diverted from the airport.

Basque rebels said on June 5 they were calling off a 15-month-old ceasefire, which the group had already effectively broken by bombing Madrid airport in December.

Spain’s Ibiza airport evacuated after bomb alert – Yahoo! News

It’s good that AP has taken notice that ETA effectively broke the ceasefire on Dec 30th when two persons where killed -something Zapatero does not-, but it does not say Socialist Government has been negotiating with ETA -that we have proof of-  till the week before the last May elections, negotiations which began two years before Zapatero came to power. But we suspect they are continuing just now.

In the end it was a false alert.

soldados-repatriados

The funerals for the 6 Spanish soldiers killed in Lebanon are scheduled for eleven o’clock in the morning (Spanish hour) at the base of the parachute team in Paracuellos del Jarama.

The soldier’s corpses arrived in Spanish Air Base of Torrejón de Ardoz at 2:30 a.m., where they hamilitares en paracuellosve been received by the Crown Prince Felipe and the PM Zapatero. (video here).

The priest of the Spanish mission in Lebanon, in the funeral in Beirut, called them “peace’s martyrs”, in a ceremony that was attended by some other soldiers from other units of FINUL, in solidarity with the dead. Afterwards, in the moment of honouring the dead, some colleages of the dead cried when the anthem of the parachuters was sung. Previously, the Civil Guard unit, which travelled to Lebanon, had identified the corpses.

Neither the King Don Juan Carlos or Queen Doña Sofía will be at the funeral, because Felipe-familiaresthey are in China, “strenghtening the Spanish ties with the Asian giant“. And they are not changing their schedule. The Crown Prince Felipe (right, with relatives of the soldiers) and his wife, Letizia, will attend them.

The behaviour of the Spanish Government has been shameful. No official has informed their relatives of the death of the soldiers. No blancoofficial communication from Zapatero. Even the Socialist Organization’s Secretary, that moonbat of Blanco (left) has linked this attack to the presence of Spanish troops in Irak. As PP leader, Rajoy, has accused the Government of hiding the war state in Lebanon, Blanco has answered: “he is a little confounded and thinks that with this he can wash his conscience of having sent us to [Iraqi] war“.smile_sad

There will be two days of official mourning.

Some soldiers from the other BMR -damaged in the explosion- have spoken about the terrorist attack:

otra imagen del atentadoWhat enrages me more is that they fell one after the other. First they told us there were 3 dead, then 4, then 5 and the then the sixth, the one I brought here“. The soldier who speaks is Jorge Enrique Prieto, 28-years-old and Colombian national, same nationality that had three of the dead. He drove the BMR which was affected by the explosion, and fought till the end to save his companions.

According to him, everything “happened in seconds“. After the explosion, he stopped his vehicle to wait for his companions to rescue the wounded anManuel David Portas Ruizd after that, he made “what is possible and what is impossible too” to get on time to the base to save 19-year-old parachuter Manuel David Portas Ruiz (right). “Firstly, they told me he was alive, then that they have cut off one of his legs, but that he was alive. Then two hours later, they confirmed us he has died“, he laments.

His companion Daniel Blanco, 23-years-old from Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), explains that after the explosion he exited his vehicle and saw “fume, fire and heard groans and cryings for help” from their wounded colleagues. “We were surrounded by flames“. “We went to aid them, we deployed ourselves and went to their position fearing there could be more explosions and began clasifying them considering their wounds“.

Spanish Intelligence Agency had already warned the Government of a danger of terrorist attacks last May by two groups linked to Al-Qaeda. smile_baringteeth

The attacks’ danger were aimed at FINUL, 12.000 soldiers, of which 1.100 are Spanish. These two groups are Fatah al Islam, the main suspect of the attack, and Osbat al Ansar. These same sources outlined that since June 4th they had elevated their alert and security level, even when the contingent already is lacking some basic protection systems such as the anti-bombs inhibitors in the armoured vehicles“.

Who said that the shameful fleeing from Iraq has reduced the danger of Islamist terrorist attacks? Morons.smile_baringteeth

Another word of the Government and another lie: Sources of the investigation say -from Spanish Intelligence Agency- that the explosion was caused by much more than 50 kilos of explosives:

With the charge the Minister says that caused the explosion, it would have been impossible to make the BMR’s front part dissappear. There is nothing absolutely. It was torn off and everything inside was propelled through the rear part. You only have to take into account that there is nothing of what was the front part and that damage is not caused by only 50 kilos of explosive“.

More here. [In Spanish]

UPDATE: First analysis shows that the attack was made with 70 kgs. of C4 explosive, 5 times more poweful than the TNT (similar to 300-350 kilos of TNT). Also no blood has been found inside the car bomb, so looks like there were no suicide bombers.

UPDATE 2: Spanish National Court is beginning an investigation of the attack and forbids the incineration of the bodies in order to “know the deeds made by Spanish or foreign people abroad which could be considered, according to Spanish criminal law, as terrorism“.

From Catholic news agency:

Catholic schools in Spain refusing to allow parents to opt kids out of controversial course Madrid, Jun 20, 2007 / 12:03 pm (CNA).-
The civil rights watchdog organization HazteOir.org has reported that a number of schools run by religious congregations are not allowing parents to opt their children out of the controversial Education for Citizenship course.
The EcP course blatantly promotes the normalization of homosexuality and the societal acceptance abortion among other issues. The website has published a list of schools with how they rank in allowing parents to conscientiously object to the government-sponsored class. The data for the list comes from several associations that are promoting the right of parents to exercise conscientious objection.
Several Catholic schools in Madrid, Toledo, Majadahonda, Valdemoro and Huelva are listed among those not allowing parents to exclude their children from the course.

Well, the reality is that Catholic schools are going to be controlled hardly by the Government. And that the boys are going to fail the course and not going to pass if they do not study and pass the subject, while you need 2 other subjects to be forbidden to pass to the next course.

Of course, I do not agree with them, but I understand them, very well indeed.

Probably, you are thinking “hmm, why she hasn’t written about the meeting about the end of the ETA’s ceasefire?“. Well, the reality is that I do not know what to make of it. Rajoy went to see Zapatero at Moncloa’s Palace. Zapatero, even if it’s normal to do so, did not walk down the stairs to greet him, but stayed in the door, till Rajoy reached him. Before the meeting Zapatero had told in a TV interview that he “considers that he has the “moral authority” to ask the Popular Party for its support because he supported a lot the Government when he was in opposition“. That is really striking specially considering that pro-Socialist newspaper El País published an article in which they confirmed that Basque Socialists had been negotiating with ETA since 2002. So while Zapatero was signing the Antiterrorist Pact with Aznar.

aznar con ZP

Zapatero’s loyalty to anti-terrorist pact (Montoro para la Razón):

Zapatero: “Uy, I am going to get my pen, it has fallen again“.

Aznar: “This is the 25th time it has fallen. You look like an idiot, José Luis“.

ETA terrorist under the table: “I would much more say that he is too clever by half“.

The situation in Basque Country is so grave that the negotiators with ETA have begun to use the services of bodyguards, something that they have never needed.

Of course, international press has mentioned the support Rajoy stated, after the meeting. And the happiness of the socialists who thought he was going to maintain his tough stance.

So, why I do not know what to make of it? The lack of any kind of information about what happened in the meeting. Terrorism is a matter of national security, but also of citizens’ security. I want to know the ideas and why a change of them. Anything was cleared afterwards. And socialists are beginning to claim that ETA should not be named as if nothing happened.

But the question is: is there really a change in Zapatero’s ideas? Last informations are that he wants an agreement with Nafarroa Bai (Nationalists from Navarra and supporters of Batasuna-ANV, the ETA political party). This would not be the first Nafarroa Bai-Socialists agreement as José Ramón Martínez Benito has just acepted Nafarroa’s votes in Sartaguda, city in which UPN (PP backed) won the elections but failed to have an absolute majority.

The reality is that ETA has, in its hands, the result of next Spanish elections, something that was totally predictable following the breaking of Antiterrorist Pact and the ETA’s negotiation:

The duplicity that implies having supported the meetings between Eguiguren -the wife beater, must I add-Otegui, while promoting the Antiterrorist Pact which implicitly forbid them and expressly obliged the undersigning parts to informed each other about them, opens severe doubts about the credibility and honour of the president, not in a moral level -we are not asking that from the politicians at this stage! [*]- but in the simple eficiency level in administration where we have to judge Zapatero. As Ignacio Camacho writes for ABC, “we are in the worst of all posibilities”:

ETA is in the center of the stage, lord of the initiative and of the timings. We do not know if it’s stronger than before, but our State is less strong, as it is not united.

And as an important proof of that statement, Camacho writes that, from last Tuesday, when ETA made public the end of the ceasefire, the major states of both the main parties were doing polls about who is going to be the first probable victim of ETA.

Well, Camacho does not take into account that the statement that ETA is now more powerful has been repeated throughout the last days. The last one to say that has been Mesquida, General Director of Spanish Police and Civil Guard. There is even a report that says there are more than 70 not-filed-by-police members and that they can have more than 2.000 kilos of explosive. It also confirms the possibility of a high-profile terrorist attack.

ETA had plans to attack Almería’s airport, according to the documents police obtained from Donosti commando. The past elections showed that Popular Party allied with Almería’s Independent Group had again won the elections.

I’m going to be implacable. This is not the moment to blame anyone for anything… [Zapatero=Mr.Bean says]

Is he really going to be? I doubt it…Related news:

His return to Aranjuez, prison in which he was till March 1st, happens a day after the ETA’s announcement of the end to ceasefire. The terrorist band’s statement has not been alien to the measure applied to De Juana, who only a week ago was asking to be freed and go back to his house in a soft prison regime which had been granted to him last February.
But yesterday, after ETA’s statement was known, Interior Minister, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, assured that De Juana “in any case” was going to be given the soft prison-home regime, as has been speculated this last days.

ABC.es – De Juana Chaos ingresa en prisión al desaparecer “el riesgo para su vida”.

The Interior Minister has tols to leftist Radio Cadena SER, this Wednesday: “Circumstances have changed”. That is they have changed again. They changed when the State General Prosecutor asked his subordinates to take into account “the new situation” about ETA dialogue. And now they also change –but not 6 months ago, with the murder of Palate and Estacio–, because of the [supposed] pacts’ end. The minister Bermejo spoke in advance about this last change and Rubalcaba has confirmed it, sending De Juana back to prison. The T-4 terrorist attack [where both Palate and Estacio were killed] was no more than a “tragic accident” for the Government.

Libertad Digital: Rubalcaba justifica el regreso a prisión de De Juana: “Las circunstancias han cambiado”

The main problem is they are not underlining, not even telling us, what circumstances have changed now. That without considering that laws are not changed only by a change in circumstances. There are procedures to be met to change them. smile_angry

But for the Government and Socialist party, the culprits are not ETA terrorists -who are no more than poor communists a little bit confused- nor the Government -who has been kissing their asses repeatedly for the last year-. The culprit, of course, is the Popular Party, that is the only one who opposed to the ETA’s negotiation.

At the same time, Real Madrid has asked for special security measures. Something very clever specially considering what is the area in which it’s more probable to have a terrorist attack now.

Jesús Cacho in El Confidencial.com:

ETA has not surprised anyone. Who has again surprised till the shame has been Rodríguez Zapatero. According to his statement this morning [he is writing about yesterday’s statement by the President], ETA is again wrong, not him. Without any autocritic, without any kind of rectification or correction intent, his statement has all the ingredients of the so-called “Alicia way-of-thinking” [this is a line of thought which is referred to Alicia in Wonderland]: “Spanish society has shown that its pain does not weaken its strength” And??? Even more serious than anything, because it shows the precarious intellect of the President, is when he says “Basques future depends on themselves”, an statement which makes dissapear something so elemental as is, according Spanish Constitution’78, that the sovereignty of Spanish nation resides in the Spanish people as a whole and not in Basques, Galicians or people from Murcia considered isolated from the rest.

So it would be ALL Spanish people the ones who, as the holders of Spanish sovereignty, the ones who should say what they want to do with Spain, Basque Country included. It’s obvious that Zapatero has not given to the terrorist band everything the latter demanded, because if not, we would be speaking about Basque’s independence. But it is equally obvious that the independence was the final step of this negotiation, the target that the band wanted to acquire as they decided to attend all the calls that Zapatero’s aides gave them since the moment he was named President. And it is obvious that the band has not abandoned any of its objectives, has not renounced to violence, has continued demanding the revolutionary tax, defying the State of Law, rearming itself

Prevost: ZP The Hard: Chaos comes back to Madrid. smile_teeth

Batiburrillo:

As it’s normal it was a trap ceasefire, with an evident objective: rearming itself, to recover economical means and to form its integrants. The first one in pointing it out as PP ex-Interior Minister, now in European Parliament, Mayor Oreja. All the things have happened as he told since the first moment of the ceasefire: from the first one till the last. “With ETA there is no possible negotiation, this is another trap truce”, he said on several occasions. PSOE members called him names back then.

Aquiles, as ever writes a very good post about the end of the truce who really did not exist.

Pandemonio criticizes the leftist journalists (and bloggers) who do not know what to say about the truce’s end.

Outside Spain there have been bloggers who have written about the ETA’s truce’s end: EURSOC, Gateway Pundit and Outside the Beltway. The latter writes:

Interesting, as I had at one point thought that 9/11 and the 7/11 Madrid bombing might have taken the political viability out of political violence for ETA.

Well, in fact the political violence has never dissapeared: business obliged to give the revolutionary tax, the deads of the T4 terminal, the repeated attacks on PP, PSOE and Basque Nationalist Party members during past elections, all the weapons stolen from a French factory after kidnapping its owner’s family… I don’t think that’s taken the political viability out of political violence. The reason? in Zapateroland the violence gives you political strenght as a result from negotiation. Unfortunately

Victoria Prego h/t Disculpen las molestias.

Spanish people have never denied their Government its citizen support to confront murderers. And they can do it again. Another thing is the trust that Zapatero can give the citizens in this hour. He can always gain it.

For my part, it’s very difficult to support him as this stage: the term has been entirely a mess. Both international and national politics are not focused on important things, such as the next economical crisis, which could become a reality next autumn, specially caused by lower expectations related with the building market.

The trust is Zapatero is so low big at this stage that there are people considering that even the truce’s end is a result of the negotiation and that they are just preparing to stage the next step in the negotiation. Zapatero wants to win the next elections and a hard stand towards ETA now, can give him the votes he needs.

Portuguese blog O Insurgente also wrote about this.

Como se previa, de nada serviu a política de apaziguamento levada a cabo pelo governo de Zapatero. É também provável que a ETA tenha aproveitado este periodo para se reorganizar e reamar (recordam-se da armas apreendidas em França?).

“As was forseen, the appeasement policies of Zapatero were worth nothing. And it also proves that ETA has used this period for reporganising and rearming itself (do we remember the stolen weapons in France?).

There is something I should say though: I’ve been surprised because all of them called ETA terrorists by their name: TERRORISTS. Something which I must thank after reading international MSM which named them as separatists as the hardest name of all (CNN called them separatists and BBC independentists smile_cry Well, considering that Iraqi terrorists for this MSM are insurgents, I really think we can thank God for not reading they have written freedom fighters instead).

The Intelligent Services suspect that the terrorist organization ETA has in this moment some infraestructure inside Basque Country. Just the same as happened with Donosti commando, this infraestructure has been leadered, during the cease fire, by some “free” members of the band and some other legal (does not have been detected by police), with infraestructure and waiting for receiving orders, informed to Europa Press antiterrorism sources.

The activity of inside Spain during ceasefire had as main facts, the detentions of the Vizcaya “commandos“, last December, and “Donosti”, last March. In both cases, there were discovered a great quantity of explosives and material, to build car-bombs, or to put limpet-bombs in the car’s lower parts.

Spanish police

With the operation against Donosti, a “free” member and other 9 legal members were detained. But the investigations made afterwards made possible the identification of another dozen of terrorists with links to the detained. One of them is specially dangerous, according to Security Forces. His name is Ekatiz Aguirre Goñi, ‘Ehun’ or ‘Oskarbi’. With him, the chief of Donosti command had a meeting on march 24th in Aizkorri, between Alava and Guipúzcoa.

The coordinator of ETA commandos, Garikoitz Aspiazu, ‘Txeroki’, has asked Lerín to meet ‘Ehun’ to give him some orders. What Security Forces think is that ‘Ehun’ could be making just now the same funcitons that Lerín in Guipúzcoa, but in other basque Country’s areas. The ‘Ehun’ fingertips were in the documents that Basque Police Ertzaintza found in terrorist hands when they flee from Vizcaya after being discovered the “hiding place” of Atxondo on December 23rd, 2006.

The same sources underline that the terrorists will probably come from France to kill here, to “celebrate” the ceasefire, as it happened on Dec 30th. According to them, they underline the ease ETA has to introduce a car loaded with explosives, abandon it with a temporiser and go back to France, before it explodes, not to be caught by Security Forces.

ETA terrorist band announced last night that ends the “ceasefire” since this last night. The terrorists say in a communiqué that publishes Berria in its web page that “there are not the minimum conditions to achieve the negotiation process” and that Zapatero’s Government “has answered with a hault in the armed actions with detentions, tortures and presecutions».

Ha also critisizes Basque Nationalist Party, about whom he says that he “has lost the mask” and accusses of “lying when it has to defend Euskal Herria». The band reiterates the need to carry on «a liberation process that ends with an indenpendent process and denounces that the freedom of the people has as enemy the treason» [That’s why you kill always shooting people at the back, ehh].

ETA made effecive this «truce» on March, 24th, 2006. Since then, in a year and a month, it was responsible for the ETA terrorist attack on Terminal 4 of Barajas Airport murdering 2 people. (There is another one, an old man who was killed by the kale borroka).

After ETA has succeded in entering the councils -more than half of the ANV’s candidatures- ETA is pressing more the Executive, as an ultimatum.

Experts had been considering the elections of March 27th as a D Day, which could bury the yet agonising process, or, on the contrary, reanimate the next colapse. This uncertainty, the threaten of new ETA terrorist attacks in the electoral campaign and the possibility of an electoral Socialist failure, made the Government’s representants to have some talks with them on April. Talks which were a total failure.

ABC.es: nacional – terrorismo – ETA anuncia que da por finalizado el «alto el fuego permanente»

It does this AFTER ZAPATERO HAS LET IT ENTER INSTITUTIONS AND HAVE MONEY FROM THE SPANISH BUDGET. WE ARE GOING TO BE KILLED WITH OUR OWN MONEY. smile_angryAND BLOODY TERRORIST DE JUANA IS IN THE STREETS (he even has menaced with another hunger strike IF he has a GPS bracelet put on).

Just in case, I am not happy that the negotiation is over. I am angry because we have been saying it for months. And the Government hasn’t even considered to listen to us. You, idiot appeasers.

Even the Government had been informed that the process was going to end and that the terrorist band, as it has happened this night, was going to announce the definite end of the truce. On Monday, the sources consulted by Europa Press stated that they were pessimistic and pointed that the truce was going to be broken at any time, because of the “irreconceivable differences of concept” between the Executive and the terrorist band. There is sense then in the information given by newspaper El País about an inminent terrorist attack [or near the next year’s general elections].

Here what BBC has written about it.

Now for the bloggers’ reaction:

Considering the inminent exit of ETA terrorist José Ignacio de Juana Chaos from the hospital of San Sebastián in which he has been after his hunger strike, the Unified Union of Policemen (SUP) has sent a press note to the MSM reclaiming his immediate return to prison. A place, he never should have left, as the SUP remembers.

In the same press release, the organization ratifies that he should never have left jail, and “not because of the punishment of 25 murders, of which he had never shown any repent, but because he has been fighting the State of Law, fight which has concluded with his exit from prison“.

El Semanal Digital

El Confidencial publishes that the Government asked the Hospital not to release any of these news before the past elections, something we were all fearing was going to happen:

Achieved target. Rodríguez Zapatero called a member of the Basque Government of Ibarreche to ask them to release the information after May 27th (elections day). The motive: he did not want PP to use De Juana’s exit from hospital as a weapon during the electoral campaign.

Spanish newspaper La Razón writes an article about De Juana:

The prison “development” of the ex-chief of ETA “Madrid commando” has been al the way critisized by the priviledges he has obtained in prisons and hospitals. – When he was “near death” [I love The Times], he was the main role in a sex continous story of bed, shower and meals in the Madrid’s hospital “Doce de Octubre“.

For a retrospective on sex stories of ETA bloodiest terrorist, while international MSM were considering him near death (then I am dead already), see my post here.

With some other interesting accounts:

A worse destiny than him have suffered some other terrorist victims who saw him at hospital. As he is free to move along the hospital, he run into three victims who belong to Covite [another ETA terrorism’s victims’ association]. In the same floor De Juana is staying there is a widow of a man murdered by an ETA commando. This woman has leucemia.

The three other victims just go into hiding, as they have taken part in the demonstrations outside the hospital to protest for the liberation of the ETA terrorist.

But there is more:

The investigations that have taken part about the telephone numbers, 2 Spanish and 2 French, that was carrying with him the ETA terrorist Juan Carlos Yurrebaso, member of «Hanes», the “negotiation apparatchik” of the ETA terrorist band, have brought some trails that had let the investigators stablish that they could have been used by members of the Basque Socialist Party.

Very important: El juez Marlaska reabre una causa a Otegi por enaltecer a ETA en contra del criterio del fiscal.

The judge of the National Court Fernando Grande-Marlaska has reopened, against the Prosecutor’s will -what a shame a prosecutor that does not prosecute-, a process against Otegi, Batasuna’s speaker, and other 22 members of this party because of their participation in the hommage of the ETA terrorist Arkaitz Otazua, dead in a cross-fire with Ertzaintza, Basque Autonomous police.

The case was shut provisionally last March by Grande-Marlaska because he had no proofs, but the reception in the Judge’s office of a TV recording with Otegi’s participation in the act has made him reconsider his decision as his speech at it could constitute a crime of terrorism’s apology.

Hehe, that photo describes terribly well this ETA terrorist himself who was released in 1978’s amnesty.

If yesterday, we knew that the Government wants to sanction Foro Ermua for convoking some demonstrations -when he didn’t-, today we have known that the bloodiest of all ETA terrorists is going home, with an electronic device in his wrist, as had been announced. The decision comes after the elections and has provoked a real uproar in Spain. Lately he was going out of the hospital on a daily basis, costing the security of those strides 120€ daily in security.

Meanwhile, the PSOE negotiator with ETA, Eguiguren, the man who was condemned for beating his wife, is now counselling Zapatero to make a pact to lead Navarra’s Government’s with ANV, ETA-Batasuna’s party at last elections, telling him “you will be remembered for ending terrorism“.

European Parliament passed a resolution on May 24th in which they considered as an “alarming precedent” the decision by Chávez to shut Radio Caracas Televisión, because of their critics to Chávez. But the Venezuelan President, as Castro, has a very good defensor in Europe: PSOE (Spanish Socialists). The Spanish Socialists voted against the resolution and their secretary for International Relations, Elena Valenciano, repeated Chávez’s arguments: “it is an administrative decision” and the defense of freedom of expression is “a campaign of the right“. This Wednesday, when the closing of RCTV is a fact, Popular Party has asked for a rectification to PSOE.

Source: El PSOE califica de “decisión administrativa” el cierre de Radio Caracas Televisión – Libertad Digital

This happens the same day that Chávez has laughed about international condemnation, specially about EU resolution because of the 784 MPs, only 65 voted it. And the same day in which Chávez has named as enemies of the Venezuelan country, Globovisión TV and the students who demonstrated these past days, saying the latter “are brainwashed by their parents and teachers“.

This happens the same day international Spanish moonbat and gay politician -he is not a moonbat for being gay, he is a moonbat because he is a moonbat-, Zerolo, has asked for the expulsion of Poland from EU after considering that Poland is in the EU only for receiving money. “The EU is not a bank to receive money from. If you don’t respect some civic and republican values, out of the EU!“. The reason? Poland is not accepting the Zapatero’s model of promoting homosexuality in the schools (attention: this link contains very bad taste images. But this book is the one which is being promoted by Spanish Minister of Education to educate minors in schools).

The statement is even worse because Zapatero is going to visit Poland. And because Spain has received (a lot of) money specially for infraestructures from Europe, something that has been pointed out by the Polish Ambassador in Spain, Grazyna Bernatowicz.

Of course, he is not revolving against what is happening in Malasia today….

Just making Spanish people proud of the Government… smile_baringteeth

(UPDATE): My friend Thymoumai has also written about this “support” and is as outraged as me:

there is no such thing as strategies or administrative decisions when we are talking about freedom of speech. But I guess I forgot that for some people, the ideal government model is the Chávez/Catro regime. [attention people, THAT IS THE REAL REASON why I am so worried and why some people are so wrong when they think that Zapatero is supporting Castro and Spanish democracy at the same time. If you support Castro, you don’t support democracy, whatever you say]

I have just now received this:

12.000 € OF SANCTION TO FORO ERMUA FOR PROTESTING AGAINST THE EXCARCERATION OF ETA TERRORIST IGNACIO DE JUANA AND THE PROSECUTOR’S DECISION OF NOT ACCUSING OTEGI

The sanctions were proposed more than 2 months ago, but have been notified today, May 29th, only after the elections.

Bilbao, May 30th 2007

The excarceration of De Juana and the prosecutor’s decision of not accusing Otegi of a clear crime of apology of terrorism –what obliged the Tribunal not to condemn him- provoked once again a justified reaction of popular indignation that caused several citizens’ demonstrations of protest in the Interior Ministry surroundings. The Government Delegation of Madrid has blamed the FORO ERMUA of both demonstrations and proposes 2 sanctions of 6.000 Euros for not soliciting approval for them.

These proposes of santion should be interpreted as a step further in the politics of soft hand towards ETA and of coaction and intimidation against democratic citizens who are opposed to the Government policy: the killing-freedom attitudes are inevitable when we are searching for an intermediate point between democracy and terror.

So, when the Government twists the law systematically in favour of the killers to bring them satisfaction and to maintain alive the dialogue with them (De Juana’s excarceration, the decision of stopping the accusation against Otegi, reduction of petitions of punishments for the members of ETA and of the street terrorism[1], to ask for stopping the cause against Egunkaria, tolerance to the acts of Batasuna, the negative to illegalise ANV, etc.). But at the same time they use the law and the institutional power to try to force the citizens and associations opposed to their policies of appeasement and caving into ETA. Those are the consequences of the negotiation.

So, the proposal of 12.000€ of sanction to FORO ERMUA (association which has, on the other hand, only received 2.341,61 € from the Interior Minister) is incardinated in the strategy of negotiation and has as main objective to coerce and undermine the citizen movement to make us cease in the actions against the wiched process of dialogue and cession to ETA.  But they have failed already: whatever the efforts of ETA and Basque Government have employed, we have never ceased in speaking and now Zapatero is going to obtain the same results.

The Government should know that, the more he attacks the FORO ERMUA, the bigger will be our strength. If in the end this felony is achieved and they impose the sanction, FORO ERMUA will appeal the citizens to have enough funds to pay it and will use the rest to strengthen the citizen’s movilization against the ignominous process of dialogue, cession and pact with the terrorist band ETA. A band that has already 900 deaths in their backs, thousands of hurt people, dozens of thousands of menaced citizens and hundred of thousands of displaced [is the one] with which the General Secretary of PSOE and nowadays President of the Government prefers to dialogue better than with us: it is not that Rodríguez Zapatero treats democrats opposed to the Government as terrorists, the situation is that he treats us worst. And we are not going to tolerate.

Don’t need any comments. This is the most accurate painting of nowadays Spain. But there is something very clear: if the Government would not feel itself menaced by Foro de Ermua and other organizations, it would not act this way.

And the reason is that there are problems with the Navarra’s Government: if the Socialists at last sign a pact with Nafarroa Bai (nationalists) and ANV (Batasuna, substantially) that is not going to be very well seen in other parts of Spain. Anyway, they do not want to pact with PP because they have been insulted “and socialists also have dignity“, Zapatero dixit. WOW, ZP the noble. Don’t make me laugh… smile_teeth

More about todays’ session:

The president has not answered my question. And it is so grave that he can’t answer me in a so important subject“, stated Rajoy in his second time to speak. “The majority of the Navarros want Navarra to continue existing. I’m not in favour to let UPN (PP in Navarra) govern to see what happens; I do not agree with a pact with someone, as the fist elected of Na-Bai, who wants Navarra’s independence“, stated PP leader.

Rajoy also stated that if UPN and Socialists in Navarra will reach an agreement for the next 4 years, it will guarantee that Navarra “has stability and certitude“. “I am enormously worried because the President of the Government is unable to have a judgement in this subject and to express it in this Parliament“, he concluded.

In his next time to speak, Zapatero continued with his reproaches to Rajoy. “I understand that Rajoy is now worried. But he could have done another policy related to Navarra and PSOE“, he insisted. He said that “PSOE is open to dialogue for the coexistence and integration, not for diving the Navarros and the Spanish“.

The reason of this angry revolting of the President is Madrid: not only Socialists have not won in the capital and in the Autonomous Community but also the PP’s victory has caused a crisis on PSOE: three PSOE councillors don’t want Sebastián -ZP’s candidate- to take his seat. “That the one who named him, takes his responsibility in the defeat“. Yes, please, let him take the responsibility. smile_shades
