Oopssssssssss, the seeds planted by Orthodox Patriarc Alexis weren’t fruitless. After defending the Iranian-Russian relationship as a way to build a new multipolar world and stating that “it is only adherents to traditional religions, first of all the Orthodox and Muslims, who can give ‘an appropriate response to the challenges of the time“, now the Orthodox Church is confronting a new challenge by … Muslims.

The Government wants to introduce a new optional subject about Orthodox culture. The no. 2 of the Orthodox Church, Kirill, has said that “In URSS there were a lot of people who was taught atheism. They were professional atheists. This people did not disappear. As there are also ultraliberals. But the overwhelming majority of the Russian people is backing this new subject“.

But the religious Muslim authorities have united themselves with the laicists, to prevent the introduction of this subject in the Russian teaching system. The VP of the Russian Muftis’ Council has accused the Orthodox Chruch of “clericalising” the Russian society. One of the most known teologians of the Russian Orthodox Chruch, Father Andrei Kurayev, has proposed the expulsion of the Mufti to the Gulf Persian States, where they practise the secularism that he likes so much. ApplauseLaughing

But the curious thing is that, while the Muslim religious authorities want to prevent the teaching of this optional subject of Orthodox Culture, in the Russian republics where Islam is majority, as Chechenya, the Muslim traditions are taught in schools. What is more, the Muftis consider that some ethnic (!!!! Isn’t this racism???) groups like Tartars, wherever they live, have a right to receive Muslim education, because historically they have belonged to Muslim religion.

America is quietly expanding its fight against terror on the African front. Two years ago the United States set up the Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Partnership with nine countries in central and western Africa. There is no permanent presence, but the hope is to generate support and suppress radicalism by both sharing U.S. weapons and tactics with friendly regimes and winning friends through a vast humanitarian program assembled by USAID, including well building and vocational training. In places like Chad, American Special Forces train and arm police or border guards using what it calls a “holistic approach to counterterrorism.” Sgt. Chris Rourke, a U.S. Army reservist in a 12-man American Civil Affairs unit living in Dire Dawa, in eastern Ethiopia, says it comes down to this: “It’s the Peace Corps with a weapon.”

Let’s hope this is not like Somalian campaign.

Almost half of Britain’s mosques are under the control of a hardline Islamic sect, whose next possible leader loathes Western values and calls on Muslims to “shed blood” for Allah, reports The Times of London.

Riyadh ul Haq, who supports armed jihad and preaches contempt for Jews, Christians and Hindus, is in line to become the spiritual leader of the Deobandi sect in Britain.

The ultra-conservative (yes, you know, it’s a mixture between Bush, Aznar and Sarkozy Waiting What a moron!) movement, which gave birth to the Taleban in Afghanistan, now runs more than 600 of Britain’s 1,350 mosques, according to a police report seen by The Times.

Ul Haq, 36, was educated and trained at an Islamic seminary in Britain and is part of a new generation of British imams who share a similar radical agenda. He heaps scorn on any Muslims who say they are “proud to be British” and argues that friendship with a Jew or a Christian makes “a mockery of Allah’s religion”.

Seventeen of Britain’s 26 Islamic seminaries are run by Deobandis and they produce 80 percent of home-trained Muslim clerics. Many had their studies funded by local education authority grants. The sect has significant representation on the Muslim Council of Britain. It is strongest in the towns and cities of the Midlands and northern England.

Marvellous… At wits end

Richard has posted about it here, where he underlines that in US more than 80% of the mosques (2002) were funded by Saudi Arabia and were preaching Wahabbi ideology.

Now a question: how many Spanish mosques are in this situation? Worried

Cult of Death h/t Eursoc:

Gathering what we can from the works of such thinkers as Sayyid Qutb, Abul Ala Mawdudi, and Abu Bakr Naji (the author of The Management of Savagery), and from various pronouncements, fatwas, ultimatums, death threats, and suicide notes, we may compare radical Islam with the thanatoid political movements we know most about, namely Bolshevism and Nazism (to each of which Islamism is indebted). Of the many affinities that emerge, we may list, to begin with, some secondary characteristics. The exaltation of a godlike leader; the demand, not just for submission to the cause, but for utter transformation in its name; a self-pitying romanticism; a hatred of liberal society, individualism, and affluent inertia (or Komfortismus); an obsession with sacrifice and martyrdom; a morbid adolescent rebelliousness combined with a childish love of destruction; “agonism”, or the acceptance of permanent and unappeasable contention; the use and invocation of the very new and the very old; a mania for purification; and a ferocious antiSemitism.

But these are incidentals. Thanatism derives its real energy, its fever and its magic, from something far more radical. And here we approach a pathology that may in the end be unassimilable to the nonbelieving mind. I mean the rejection of reason – the rejection of the sequitur, of cause and effect, of two plus two. Strikingly, in their written works and their table talk, Hitler and Stalin (and Lenin) seldom let the abstract noun reason go by without assigning a scornful adjective to it: worthless reason, craven reason, cowardly reason. When those sanguinary yokels, the Taleban, chant their slogan, “Throw reason to the dogs”, they are making the same kind of Faustian gamble: crush reason, kill reason, and anything and everything seems possible – the restored Caliphate, for instance, presiding over a planetary empire cleansed of all infidels. To transcend reason is of course to transcend the confines of moral law; it is to enter the illimitable world of insanity and death.”

Eursoc has also some thoughts about the Committee of Ex-Muslims I posted about yesterday.

The Jihad Fields are Calling has a post up celebrating the terror attacks of 9/11 and lavishing praise on the attackers and Osama bin Ladin. It’s long and as tedious as anything else Mujahid writes, so I’ll excerpt the only part that will interest you:

On the 6th Anniversary of the Blessed Attacks of September 11 it is our message to all the Americans and their allies. The Blessed Attacks of September 11 was just the beginning, by these blessed attacks we drag you to your graves in Afghanistan and Iraq, your countries and governments faced in these lands the worst humiliation in their history. But all what is happened to your countries yet is nothing.

But “The Jihad Fields are Calling” has been erased. No more calls. Why the authors deleted the blog? I’m just wondering… Thinking

Catholic Bishop urges to defend Europe and avoid Euroarabia:

Warsaw, Sep. 11, 2007 (CWNews.com) – During a Mass celebrated on September 11 to mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the US, the head of the Polish military chaplaincy appealed for a defense of Christian culture, particularly in Europe.

Bishop Tadeusz Ploski, the head of the military ordinariate, said that the Christian heritage of the European continent should be preserved and warned against the development of “Euroarabia.”

With representatives of the Polish military leadership in attendance along with Orthodox and Lutheran chaplains, Bishop Ploski issued a reminder that September 11 is also the anniversary of the Battle of Vienna, which he described as “Islam’s greatest defeat.”

Applause Thank God, Muskens is not the only Catholic Bishop…

Superb post from Kate about the situation of Venezuelan oposition. An excerpt:

These guys cannot get it through their skulls that there needs to be some sort of united front against Chavez, if for nothing else to create a legitimate opposition. Honestly, if I were chavista, I wouldn’t even bother to write about the opposition; I’d be laughing way too hard to be able to sit down and write something coherent. Primero Justicia wants to vote article by article; the student movement –which has been called sifrino by many in the elite political class– continues, albeit intermittently; COPEI wants to get rid of article 141; AD is nowhere to be found. All the meanwhile, chavistas and the administration are giving opposition forces the run-around by entertaining futile opposition attempts. The saddest part of it all? The opposition are buying into it! They are what my Italian grandmother calls stunods, which are essentially thick-headed people who are gluttons for punishment.

A colombo-americana’s perspective: Trouble in el dizque paraiso de Chavezuela?

You should read it all.

More about the German plot:

The accused conspirators in a bombing plot disrupted last week in Germany were part of what the authorities say is a small, but growing, flow of militants from Germany and other Western countries who are receiving terrorism training at camps in Pakistan.

Beginning early last year, at least five of the suspects traveled to the tribal regions of Waziristan, where they learned to prepare chemical explosives and military-grade detonators that they intended to use to build three car bombs, according to German officials and a confidential German intelligence document that details the allegations.

[…] As further evidence of traffic between Germany and the tribal areas of Pakistan, intelligence officials said six other men from Germany who had received similar training had been detained in Pakistan, and they suspect that numerous other Germans have attended the camps without being identified by the authorities.

German officials say they are troubled by evidence that Al Qaeda and other groups are training Western-born recruits whose passports allow them easy access to other Western countries.

“They started to look especially for people from Europe, because they wanted to train them and later to use them here in Germany for operations,” said a high-ranking German intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the continuing investigation.

The accusations in Germany contain similarities to two high-profile cases in Britain.

[…] This summer militants released a 46-minute videotape depicting some 250 graduates of a Taliban training camp near the Afghan-Pakistan border, which included speeches in English by recruits who were grouped by the countries they had been trained to attack, including Germany and the United States.

“We are not only fighting in Afghanistan,” the Taliban leader, Mullah Mansoor, said at the end of the ceremony. “Those American, British, German, French, Canadian and others who have come to finish us, if God wills, we will destroy them with the power of strong faith in God. We will commit suicidal attacks and we will destroy their national assets.”

This also happens in Spain by the way, and specially in Catalonia.

For Islamist terrorist organizations this is something necessary… as they avoid better the police control and the possible suspicions from the neighbourhood.

Also in Germany a rabbi has been stabbed in the stomach:

A rabbi was stabbed in the stomach by another man on a Frankfurt street in what appeared to be a spontaneous attack, police said Saturday.

The 42-year-old rabbi, whose name was not disclosed, underwent surgery after the Friday night attack and appeared to be out of danger, police said.

The rabbi was walking with two other people when they encountered the assailant accompanied by two women, a police statement said. Witnesses said the attacker spoke to the rabbi — who was wearing a yarmulke — in what sounded like Arabic.

The rabbi did not understand, and the attacker then threatened in German to kill him and stabbed him once, police said. The attacker fled and the women who were with him ran in different directions.

So who is the murderer?

Here in Spain:

a) ETA has accused the Government of “not fulfilling their pacts” (oops, but the Government says there weren’t any…) and that they will continue with the “armed struggle“. Zapatero said that this year was going to be better that the previous one, and the next day the Barajas’ T4 terminal exploded after an ETA’s device went off, killing two persons. Just a few days ago, Zapatero in the independent diary of the morning, that is, EL País, in an interview, blamed on Popular Party the lack of success of the peace process. And today he is accused of not fulfilling his pacts with ETA… Now, that for those who deny Zapatero is a jynx. And a liar…. Liar

And on Monday 10th, a car has exploded in Logroño, although no one has been killed or hurt…

b) the Government wants to impose on the citizens a new subject, which would be taught at the schools: Education for Citizenship. Roughly speaking, this is a subject whose aim is to teach children, leftists are lovers of the arts, peaceful, good in essence, while right-wingers are militarists, professional haters and so on. I will write about that, as it is an important thing to consider for next generations. But if you speak Spanish, you can go here to know more about it.

c) the same foundation which is training the Education for Citizenship’s teachers has advised that the Civil War’s History must be re-written. Hilarion, in Valea’s blog, (Waveto both!) wrote this comment [my translation]:

it was about time that someone tells us the truth about what happened. I am going to advise them to include, at least, these fundamental facts which had been systematically manipulated or hidden:

1) Calvo Sotelo was not killed by assault guards who were supporters of Socialist PSOE. He committed suicide shooting himself twice in the back of his own head.

2) Franco made his Moor forces cross the Strait of Gibraltar in makeshift vessels (=pateras).

3) Carrillo had nothing to do with Paracuellos. He was at a program in El País newspaper’s radio Cadena Ser speaking in a program.

4) Andreu Nin escaped to Brasil with the Bank of Spain’s gold. Only the fascist propaganda said that he dissapeared because the stalinists have killed him and that he gave the gold to Stalin so that the latter could guard it.

5) The Republicans (Reds, communists…) won the Ebro’s Battle. But when they were attacking it, they positioned themselved on the wrong side of the river.

6) The Republic won the war, but the Franco’s propaganda achieved its goal: no one had been able to discover that till now.

7) It is not true that Hemingway and Dos Passos ended with all the reserves of gin in Madrid. What is true is that they were stinking with a known smell, because, when they have just arrived in Madrid, an unknown and not very careful waiter, stinked their clothes with a Beefeater Gin’s bottle and, considering the bad state of finances in the capital then, they weren’t able to change their clothes throughout all the war.

Rolling on the floor

d) the agressions against PP members continue: Angry a New Generations’ militant (New Generations is the association for youths of PP) has been hurt after being beaten heavily. A group of violents have already attacked the PP stand in Alcorcón (celevrating now its patron’s holidays). The party’s spokerperson in Alcorcón, Fernando Díaz, has also suffered some contusions in the face, arm and hand, and has denounced the facts to the Police.

According to their statement, at 7:30 pm, around 15 youths began “to insult and menace the people who were there working inside the stand. When the latter considered what was happenning, they abandoned what they were doing and scaped running“, he said.

But the agressors run after them, pursuing the hurt man, an Italian national, who was beaten severely, and was later driven to Hospital, although he was discharged from hospital later.

The agressors were identified as okupas, “belonging to anti-system groups who came from another caseta with republican flags“.

e) the Prince of Asturias’ daughter has begun going to school. But not to a normal/ordinary school. After repeating in all TV shows, that the Prince and his family are “youths of their age” (though they don’t have to pay mortgage..), the Infanta Leonor is going to a school built for her, whose companions are sons and daughter of the Civil Guard. The school has been built by the Defense Ministry (as if it had a huge budget…) and a third part of it is paid by the Autonomous Community of Madrid (as if they were Kings only of it, instead of Spain… something which would not reduce the general criticism against “the capital”, just because it is the capital…). 🙄

f) On Sunday, the victim no. 56 (of this year) as a result of domestic violence was killed. The Fundación Mujeres (Women Foundation) has released a video to make the women aware of the emotional blackmail a majority of them suffer. That same emotional blackmail is the root of some of them stopping the criminal processes against their husbands/lovers/…

If this proves something is that the Law of Full Protection against Gender Violence has had very little effect in preventing this kind of acts. From my point of view, there are two very interesting things in this law: first, that if a woman beats her husband he has not the same protection as she would have in the same situation; and that if it is a same-sex marriage, the partners are also excluded from the law. And secondly, considering the measures the law imposes, the budget to really make them possible should be enormous. But the budget is not so important as to make that possible…

In fact, this is not a problem of huge budgets or of engaging more policemen or civil servants, but of education. Intelligence, goodness, beauty, honesty, etc. are valors which are not given by nationality, height or sex, but that appear in some individuals while are not present in others. But if both chauvinists and feminists keep on saying their sexes are above the other -while neither of them is right-, the situation will be maintained in the long run. Situation which is aggravated by the immigration which normally comes from places which are even more chauvinistic than Spain.

According to the report from the Spanish General Council of Judicial Power h/t Desde Mi Rincón, these are the numbers:

      Protection orders Presented accusations
  Total   13.472 39.079
Victim Man Spanish>18 1.721 7.690
    Spanish minor 148 494
    Foreign>18 217 1.091
    Foreign minor 37 101
  Woman Spanish>18 8.363 22.612
    Spanish minor 315 678
    Foreign>18 2.832 7.140
    Foreign minor 126 305
Accused Spanish man   8.897 24.326
  Foreign man   3.053 7.639
  Spanish woman   1.197 6.192
  Foreign woman   322 1.316

So some men are suffering mistreatment in silence, aren’t they? No one speaks about this… and campaigns are normally aimed at mistreated women, but no mistreated man is mentioned. Raised Eyebrow And in the present state of things I feel we will have to wait to see that Waiting This is not equality, really. At least, from my point of view. Whistling

g) The socialist Major of Sevilla has supported the Chaves‘ initiative of giving free apartments in Andalucía and has announced that he will raise the Tax on Real State a 50% to the unnoccupied houses. He maintains that his objective is “to make more attractive the renting market” to ensure that the appartments are a “fundamental right” and not a “business“. He has not outlined what criteria will be used to decide if a house is or not occupied. From PP, Javier Arenas considers the Chaves’ initiative a “joke of the worst taste“.

NOTE: Chávez is the Venezuelan Bolivarian blablabla President. Cháves is the President of the Autonomous Community of Andalucia. I know, I also mix them up. I dont know

Noblesse Oblige writes about Pakistan and the return of Nawaz Sharif, scheduled for Monady 9/10. And… Nawad Sharif was arrested and deported to Saudi Arabia:

After landing in Islamabad he was charged and put on board a plane bound for Saudi Arabia, Religious Affairs Minister Ejaz ul-Haq told BBC News.

Mr Sharif says he wants to challenge President Pervez Musharraf, who ousted him in a 1999 coup, ahead of elections.

Mr Sharif arrived in Pakistan weeks after the country’s Supreme Court affirmed his right to return.

On board the plane which flew him to Pakistan from London, Mr Sharif told the BBC he wanted to help restore the rule of law.

“It’s democracy versus dictatorship,” he said.

Once the plane arrived in Islamabad, paramilitary troops surrounded it and there was a stand-off on board as Mr Sharif refused to hand over his passport to immigration officials for nearly two hours.

Eventually he agreed to leave the plane and was escorted to the airport’s VIP lounge.

But shortly afterwards, he was separated from his entourage, returned to the tarmac and put on board a helicopter. Later, he was transferred to a plane bound for Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

Officials said he had been charged with money-laundering and corruption.

So, Musharraf wanted reconciliation, didn’t he? Liar

Thinking Blogger Award

One of my most loyal Spanish readers, Snipfer, has awarded me with the Thinking Blogger Award. 😆

So now I have to nominate myself five bloggers who make me think. Difficult thing really, specially with so many bright bloggers around.

1. My friend since I began blogging, Pastorius from Cuanas. He has a thoughtful and very beautiful blog and … even knowing he is not going to do this, I really believe that I have to mention him. The videos he posts are also very amusing (even if sometimes I don’t like their music 😆 )

2. Fausta, from Fausta’s blog. She is one of the leading bloggers of the blogosphere. Her blog is really witty. And her vision about South America is unique.

3. Angel: Hehe, one of the best women bloggers around. Incisive, bright… She ever makes you think about the subject she writes, wherever it’s pasta (those photos were a crime!!), tennis or political matters.

4. Kamangir, from Kamangir. It was for me an honor that he accepted being in the Liberty Alliance, given his accuracy and his brightness reporting about the abuses of Human Rights in Iran. He is one of the best bloggers around. And if you really want to know how the Iranian people fight everyday with not a lot of international support, you must read his blog.

5. Jeremayakovka: What can I say about him? Just go over, read him for some days and… you’ll discover him as one of the best bloggers around.

Lastly for the rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,

3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote. (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

Some days ago I wrote about Chinese hackers on German computers, now it’s on US Pentagon’s computers:

The Chinese military hacked into a Pentagon computer network in June in the most successful cyber attack on the US defence department, say American officials.

The Pentagon acknowledged shutting down part of a computer system serving the office of Robert Gates, defence secretary, but declined to say who it believed was behind the attack.

Current and former officials have told the Financial Times an internal investigation has revealed that the incursion came from the People’s Liberation Army.

One senior US official said the Pentagon had pinpointed the exact origins of the attack. Another person familiar with the event said there was a “very high level of confidence…trending towards total certainty” that the PLA was responsible. The defence ministry in Beijing declined to comment on Monday.

So now, NYT is worried about Arabs kiling Arabs in Sudan…:

Some of the same Arab tribes accused of massacring civilians in the Darfur region of Sudan are now unleashing their considerable firepower against one another in a battle over the spoils of war that is killing hundreds of people and displacing tens of thousands.

In the past several months, the Terjem and the Mahria, heavily armed Arab tribes that United Nations officials said raped and pillaged together as part of the region’s notorious janjaweed militias, have squared off in South Darfur, fighting from pickup trucks and the backs of camels. They are raiding each other’s villages, according to aid workers and the fighters themselves, and scattering Arab tribesmen into the same kinds of displacement camps that still house some of their earlier victims.

United Nations officials said that thousands of gunmen from each side, including some from hundreds of miles away, were pouring into a strategic river valley called Bulbul, while clashes between two other Arab tribes, the Habanniya and the Salamat, were intensifying farther south.

Darfur’s violence has often been characterized as government-backed Arab tribes slaughtering non-Arab tribes, but this new Arab-versus-Arab dimension seems to be a sign of the evolving complexity of the crisis. What started out four years ago in western Sudan as a rebellion and brutal counterinsurgency has cracked wide open into a fluid, chaotic, confusing free-for-all with dozens of armed groups, a spike in banditry and chronic attacks on aid workers.

No, honey, this is just racism, because the Arabs from the North are white while the Arabs on the South are Black. (By the way, they are not Arabs, they are Muslims…)

By the way, Ban Ki-Moon is in Sudan to press for new talks:

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is in Sudan to “give a push” for a new round of talks to end the four-year regional conflict and mobilize support for the speedy deployment of a new 26,000-member peacekeeping force, a top U.N. official said Monday.

Ban was expected to have dinner with President Omar al-Bashir before heading to southern Sudan on Tuesday to assess implementation of the 2005 agreement that ended a separate 21-year civil war between Sudan’s Muslim government in the north and the mostly Christian southern rebels.

He was then due Wednesday in Darfur to visit a camp for some of the 2.5 million people displaced by the conflict there, which has claimed more than 200,000 lives.

“It is important to move on several fronts,” Jean-Marie Guehenno, the U.N. undersecretary-general for peacekeeping, told reporters traveling with Ban. This is why the secretary-general has come to Sudan at this time, he said.

After his behaviour with NK, I don’t quite consider him really pushing for anything anywhere…

Microsoft copying Google:

This week, it plans to turn that strategy upside down, making available free software that connects its Windows operating system to software services delivered on the Internet, a practice increasingly referred to as “cloud” computing. The initiative is part of an effort to connect Windows more seamlessly to a growing array of Internet services.

The strategy is a major departure for Microsoft, which primarily sells packaged software for personal computers. With this new approach, Microsoft hopes to shield its hundreds of millions of software customers from competitors like Google and Salesforce.com, which already offer software applications through the Internet.

Microsoft’s new Windows Live software suite includes an updated electronic mail program, a photo-sharing application and a writing tool designed for people who keep Web logs.

The new service is an indication that Microsoft plans to compete head-on against archrival Google and others, and not only in the search-engine business where it is at a significant disadvantage. Instead, Microsoft will try to outmaneuver its challengers by becoming the dominant digital curator of all a user’s information, whether it is stored on a PC, a mobile device or on the Internet, industry executives and analysts said.

Well, this is not a surprise…

Brian Hall, general manager for Microsoft’s Windows Live services, said, “We’re taking the communications and sharing components and creating a set of services that become what we believe is the one suite of services and applications for personal and community use across the PC, the Web and the phone.”

The Windows Live service — which will be found at www.live.com — includes new versions of the company’s Hotmail and Messenger communications services as well as Internet storage components. Microsoft executives said there were roughly 300 million active users each on the Hotmail and Messenger services, with some overlap.

The software release will offer PC users the option of downloading a set of the services with a single Unified Installer program, or as separate components. The individual services are Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Messenger 8.5 and Windows Live OneCare Family Safety, a computer security program.

We will see…

Shameful:

Gustavo Villoldo, 71, was involved in Guevara’s capture in the jungles of Bolivia, according to unclassified U.S. records and other documents. He plans to auction the hair and other items kept in a scrapbook since the joint CIA-Bolivian army mission 40 years ago.

“It’s time for me to put the past behind and pass these on to someone else,” said Villoldo, also a veteran of the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.

The scrapbook also holds a map used to track down Guevara in Bolivia, photos of Guevara’s body, intercepted messages between Guevara and his rebels and a set of Guevara’s fingerprints taken before his burial.

let’s party afterwards.

Now if you understand Spanish, and want to vomit afterwards, read this interview by moderate centered and objective El País, “the independent diary of the morning“, to Adelaida Guevara, daughter of Ché (thanks Kate for finding it…). And then speak about “the imperialistic Spain in Cuba“. Buaff…

tiberge writes about the desecration of some French Christian cemeteries with no one raising their voices and no important MSM reporting about it:

Satanic inscriptions in English and swastikas were discovered on Friday in ten vaults of a cemetery in Toulouse (…) Several graves were covered with the words “Damned the Christ” or with swastikas, while flower pots were turned over and signs pointing to various sections of the Terre-Cabade cemetery were damaged,” according to an AFP report.

Elentir writes that in Spain some far-leftist vandals desecrated the cemetery of Paracuellos -where the victims of Communists in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War are buried- and a fascist web published a map of red (=communist) toombs and monuments to desecrate and destroy them.

What surprise me of this people is that they attack the dead. They should see the Dead of Lord of the Rings… You know: “This path is guarded by the Dead. The dead do not suffer the living to pass“. 😈 And this people so brave with the poor dead people were going to run at a huge speed. 😈

Provisional Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran Ayatollah Mohammad Kashani sermonizing before a standing room only congregation said:

US administration is propagating a certain version of Christianity that is not based on Jesus Christ (PBUH) teachings, but after securing Zionists’ interests. 😯 [US administration is propagating a version of Christianity not based on Jesus Christ?? Well, then, how would you call that? 😉 ].

Based on this mentality, the Jews must gather in Palestine and then in the course of a revolution two thirds of them to get killed, and the remainder should see the reappearance of Jesus (PBUH).

Therefore, they are after gathering the entire Jews of the world in Palestine, which is definitely a move with political and Satanic roots, but the idea is put forth in the framework of an idea behind the hope for reappearance of Messiah. US President George W. Bush is the standard bearer of that mentality. That man is loathed to an extent in the United States today that the mentality he supports, too, has very limited number of supporters.”

Hey, this man should write script or something. What an imagination!! Heh. 😈

You can also read this post from Red Alerts:

The second YouTube video in as many months where a fairly young guy argues for marrying children based on Islamic values. His argument is straight from the undergraduate liberal arts textbook. He’s preaching moral moral relativism, the flip side of social science doctrine to view cultures without your inherent ethnocentrism. His argument is that since our (westerners) ethics aren’t universally accepted, it isn’t “ethical” to judge other cultures using our moral compass, but we should use the morals and ethics of the society we’re judging to judge them.

[…] Watch to be disgusted, it’s in two parts so settle in. Vid one starts slow, but the last three minutes will make any feminist worth their salt go ballistic. It’s also the verbatim argument made by Jihadi Pervert one who was from California. Odd that the someone from Canada would be repeating the same tripe. Announcement from Vigilant Freedom / 910 Blog:

Baron Bodissey of The Gates of Vienna is seeking assistance in producing a Counter-jihad Calendar. Each month of the calendar will feature pictures of famous scenes from various countries under threat from Islamisation, along with a series of links for anti-Islamist blogs in those countries. The following countries will be represented: Britain, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Greece, India, Australia, and the USA. Search your blogrolls for your favorite blogsites which focus on the Islamist threat in these countries, and forward them to Baron at vigilantfreedom dot com.

I’m doing a list on Spanish anti-Jihadi sites. If you’re Spanish and you have an anti-Jihadi blog, you can write a comment in this post with the link and your name so I can forward the complete list in a fortnight. According to Baron this is a summary of what this calendar is about:

The calendar was started to supplement the SIOE demonstration at the EU Parliament in Brussels on September 11th, 2007, to protest the ongoing Islamization of Europe.
SIOE asked me to help with graphics and logos for their efforts, and I was glad to comply. In the process I decided to launch a parallel enterprise, one which fits in with the Brussels demo but which will continue afterwards. I call it the “Counterjihad Calendar Project”, and it will include an iconic image of a notable Western monument for each of the twelve months.
One of the themes of the SIOE rally is “Enough is enough!” With the help of people from the various countries involved, versions of the slogan in nine different European languages were created.
Bearing in mind what has happened to Cordoba Cathedral in Spain, Hagia Sophia in Constantinople, and an uncountable number of Hindu temples in India, I wanted to associate a well-known Western building or monument on each page of the calendar. I’ve finished seven months, and have five more to go.
Since our focus at Gates of Vienna is not just on Europe, but on the ongoing Islamization of the entire civilized world, the countries on the calendar will include India, the USA, and Australia.
Some of the monuments used in the images will be well-known to everyone; others will be familiar mainly to the citizens of the countries involved. If all goes well, when the last month is ready, I’ll create a wall calendar that will be sold at our Café Press store.

The kinds of sites I want are those that spend a least 25% of their time posting about Muslim and jihad-related issues. I want to exclude anti-Semitic sites or those that hate Israel, and antything that is truly racist. The issue is the religion and ideology of Islam, and not race.

Thanks for your collaboration.

By the way, please, enter the name of your blog or of someone who has give you express permission. I do not want that later some bloggers complaint about being in the Calendar without their express consentment.

SARAJEVO (AFP) — Organisers of an event in which almost 7,000 couples kissed simultaneously in a Bosnian town on Saturday said their effort deserved a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Mus-lim clerics in Tuzla called for a boycott of the event, arguing it was not in line with Mus-lim tradition.

Nice matters Award

Well, this has been a total surprise. I didn’t even know there was such a prize 😉 My friend Velvet Hammer from Ironic Surrealism has given me this award.

I don’t know if this blog is “of nice matters” but, even if it has been so hard at times writing it because of the stories one has to read ( 😡 ), altogether it has been (and still is) a magnificent experience, mostly because of the readers and the friends I have done writing it. And that certainly has been a “nice matter”.

I have to give it to another 7 lady-bloggers (sorry lords, no award for you, unless you want some pink and laces award… ). It has been really difficult as there are so many great women bloggers around. NOTE: inactive blogs have been discarded for obvious reasons…

Kate: A Colombo-Americana’s perspective.

Incognito: Confessions of a closet republican.
Always on Watch: Always on Watch.

Stefania: Free Thoughts.

Fausta: Fausta’s blog.

Vicki: Not Ready for My Burqa.

Beth: Blue Star Chronicles.

Happy Award for all!

😳 I was forgetting. Each of you would have to name another 7 women bloggers for the award.

(Yes, I hate memes, but this was soooo cute…. ).

Shut during holidays

I’m just shutting the blog because of holidays. I don’t know if I could blog when I get back. But comments will be opened to anyone who wants to comment.

If someone wants to contact me, just leave a comment here.

I hope that the 8-year-old boy about whom Crispal asked for a prayer will get better and if not, that God comforts his family in this hour of need.

Greetings for my four favourite bloggers Kate, Chaim, Enzo y Mike. 😀 Even if I’m not blogging when I return, I would try to read you four.

I will leave you with “Within Temptation” and “Stand my Ground“.

This is the American version song. The drawings are from Vampire Hunter D. [The differences between the two of them are not very much but the drawings are good, although a little bit dark for my taste… 😀 ]

Some days ago, my friend VelvetHammer tagged me. Today also Fausta tagged me for the same meme. [Thank God, it’s only ONE meme…. smile_tongue]

The rules:

Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

  1. I love to read. I have been an avid reader since I was 3 years-old . My mother was worried about that fact, because she thought I was going to lose sight. Yes, it’s true I wore glasses but they are more a result of genetics that of my passion for reading. By the way, I do not need thick glasses, just the minimum. Among all I love fantastic novels. My favorites are “Lord of the Rings” (he, I think no one has guessed that… 😆 ) and “Memory, Sorrow and Thorn”, from where I have chosen my nickname.
  2. I like public transport, specially trains. It leaves me time for reading or to rest for some time. airplane Hmm, planes… well, er… better not. fingerscrossed I like to be with my feet on earth.
  3. I do not like cigarrettes/cigars…’ smoke. I do not want other people to give up smoking, I just do not want the smoke of their cigars/cigarretes on my nose and eyes. smoking I have a real problem with that, as, I would say, I am like a extractor fan: all the smoke always comes where I am. I also do not like alcohol: martinimakes me sick only to smell it. I prefer non-alcoholic drinks.
  4. That’s why I love Starbucks. No pollution, a very quite place, sweet music -jazz mostly-… There are two problems though: the cakes have huge cakequantity of calories and the coffee is not very good. In Spain coffee is very concentrated and served in little cups. But then again: you can buy a cake there for two or three and make the coffe at home. coffee But it has also an advantage when compared with local cafeterias: the latter are normally full of old men watching football on TV soccerball and looking at girls. Something I just abhor in inimaginable proportions.
  5. I like to walk solitary or not very crowded places. I like to observe the animals and plants in the surroundings, when no noise is heard.
  6. I love Cádiz. For me, it’s the best city in the world. Extremelly good beaches, a beatiful sea, lots of cultural places to visit in the city and its surroundings, good food and very affable people. I would like to live definitely one day there. sun
  7. Josh Groban. I could be hearing his songs for hours, even repeating them. He has a truly good voice and the songs are very romantic. I know, this is a girls’ foolishness. But I don’t mind.
  8. I love black tea, specially darjeeling. But my favorite is the cinnamon flavoured one. smile_teeth
  9. Lastly but not least, I love my family. hug_girl 😆 I’m also a proud (Spanish, of course 😀 ) Catholic. And I don’t mind what other people say about that.

Whoever wants to do it, just leave a message here.

[You know, I hate memes, so I am not going to condemn anyone to do them smile_devil]

ETA terrorist band announced last night that ends the “ceasefire” since this last night. The terrorists say in a communiqué that publishes Berria in its web page that “there are not the minimum conditions to achieve the negotiation process” and that Zapatero’s Government “has answered with a hault in the armed actions with detentions, tortures and presecutions».

Ha also critisizes Basque Nationalist Party, about whom he says that he “has lost the mask” and accusses of “lying when it has to defend Euskal Herria». The band reiterates the need to carry on «a liberation process that ends with an indenpendent process and denounces that the freedom of the people has as enemy the treason» [That’s why you kill always shooting people at the back, ehh].

ETA made effecive this «truce» on March, 24th, 2006. Since then, in a year and a month, it was responsible for the ETA terrorist attack on Terminal 4 of Barajas Airport murdering 2 people. (There is another one, an old man who was killed by the kale borroka).

After ETA has succeded in entering the councils -more than half of the ANV’s candidatures- ETA is pressing more the Executive, as an ultimatum.

Experts had been considering the elections of March 27th as a D Day, which could bury the yet agonising process, or, on the contrary, reanimate the next colapse. This uncertainty, the threaten of new ETA terrorist attacks in the electoral campaign and the possibility of an electoral Socialist failure, made the Government’s representants to have some talks with them on April. Talks which were a total failure.

It does this AFTER ZAPATERO HAS LET IT ENTER INSTITUTIONS AND HAVE MONEY FROM THE SPANISH BUDGET. WE ARE GOING TO BE KILLED WITH OUR OWN MONEY. smile_angryAND BLOODY TERRORIST DE JUANA IS IN THE STREETS (he even has menaced with another hunger strike IF he has a GPS bracelet put on).

Just in case, I am not happy that the negotiation is over. I am angry because we have been saying it for months. And the Government hasn’t even considered to listen to us. You, idiot appeasers.

Even the Government had been informed that the process was going to end and that the terrorist band, as it has happened this night, was going to announce the definite end of the truce. On Monday, the sources consulted by Europa Press stated that they were pessimistic and pointed that the truce was going to be broken at any time, because of the “irreconceivable differences of concept” between the Executive and the terrorist band. There is sense then in the information given by newspaper El País about an inminent terrorist attack [or near the next year’s general elections].

Here what BBC has written about it.

Now for the bloggers’ reaction:

This is an alert. Please, if you value freedom, repost this alert: Venezuelan Government has kidnapped the students inside the University. No one can enter or exit -from the above link-:

A police barrier of the Military Police is forbidding the students of Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) to get out of it as they wanted to demonstrate in front of the National Parliament. The Military Police has said that the students should wait till a MPs Commission who will receive a document. In these moments there are more groups of students who are getting to the area in support of the rest.

The students have announced they will demostrate today at 11 in the La India Sq. to march till the Parliament. Major Bernal has announed them they do not have any permission to do that, but they have answered they will concentrate themselves just the same in the pavements without having the traffic interrupted. Globovisión has informed jsut now that Chávez’s supporters have just now began to get to the place and they have even set up some tents, from where they want to call on others to defend the revolution. But the students have begun to march whatever the menaces and protests and the advices from the Major about being forbidden.

UDPATE: the students have desisted and had not march to the Parliament. From the link above. They have accepted the mediation of the Catholic Church in the conflict. The students of UCAB were released but had to pass through the police, after being informed they could not march without autorization from the Caracas’ Major. But the students insisted they were going to march to the Catholic Brishops’ Conference.

Luis, Spanish blogger, from Desde el Exilio (From Exile) -he writes on Spanish, dudes- wrote about what Islam should do to get rid of a supposed Islamophobia. Well, apart from not abuse physically, its supporters could begin by support rational criticism and not asking for the erase/crackdown on private blogs that fight against Islam. Spanish blogger Yahel tells us about Europenews, who has been deleted on charges of supposed xenophoby, nazism-extremism and supposed infractions on author’s rights.

Its provider blogg.de has erased the blog, an striking move, considering that the author Holger Dansk, did never comment the news, only published them with no self-comments. He linked to several German newspapers, such as “Die Welt” and “Taz”. If his posts are considered as nazis or extremists, then the culprit are the MSM newspapers from which he got the information.

The blog’s readers have also explained that the real reason has been only the wide and unconventional information offer about the subject in Europe. Several Muslims have complained to the blog provider, Blogg.de, de Europenews.

you can write to blogg.de to protest at info@blogg.de. The answer everyone gets is very important because, depending on it, some people are proposing an international boicot on the platform. In the 1st critical meeting at Wertheim on June 2nd they are going to speak about this subject.

Muslim censorship appears to be the first cause of the deletion of the blog, that was very informative for German readers. It had several subjects such as: Sharia law, mutilation of women’s genitals, Turkey, Turks in Germany, Killings due to honor issues, Women and Islam, Jihad, Terrorism, there was even a section specialized on Spain: Islam and Al-Andalus.

Source: BLOG INFORMATIVO “EUROPENEWS” ELIMINADO DEL INTERNET A LA FUERZA POR BLOGG.DE « NUEVA EUROPA h/t Ignacio.

This is not the 1st European blogger accused of xenophobia for critisizing Islam. Early this year we have also the case of Finnish blogger Mikko Ellilä.

There is also the case of Bill Warner, who has been reported by Pamela from Atlas Shrugs:

Blogger sued and facing an injunction to cease and desist publishing stories about Muslims linked to terrorism

This is a serious threat to First Amendement rights of Freedom of Speach for bloggers and news reporters everywhere, and if I lose the law suit and the injunction is enforced, it will set a precedent for future law suits and injunctions to be imposed on any blogger or news reporter who writes about Muslims linked to terrorism.

Saudi officials have arrested a man in Mecca for being a Christian, saying that the city, which Muslims consider to be holy, is off-limits to non-Muslims.Nirosh Kamanda, a Sri Lankan Christian, was detained by the Saudi Expatriates Monitoring Committee last week after he started to sell goods outside Mecca’s Great Mosque.

After running his fingerprints through a new security system, Saudi police discovered that he was a Christian who had arrived in the country six months earlier to take a job as a truck driver in the city of Dammam. Kamanda had subsequently left his place of work and moved to Mecca.

The Grand Mosque and the holy city are forbidden to non-Muslims,” Col. Suhail Matrafi, head of the department of Expatriates Affairs in Mecca, told the Saudi daily Arab News. “The new fingerprints system is very helpful and will help us a lot to discover the identity of a lot of criminals,” he said. [Note: if you are a non-Muslim entering Mecca you’re a criminal…]

Similar restrictions apply to the Saudi city of Medina. In a section entitled, “Traveler’s Information,” the Web site of the Saudi Embassy in Washington states that, “Mecca and Medina hold special religious significance and only persons of the Islamic faith are allowed entry.”

Highway signs at the entrance to Mecca also direct non-Muslims away from the city’s environs.

Saudis arrest Christian for entering Mecca | Jerusalem Post. h/t El Rejunte.il.

Hmm, yes, I know of those signs. There are several Spanish in Saudi Arabia writing blogs. They are very informative about a country that releases so little information. For example, Destructor, from The fucking croquetacroqueta is a very well-known meal in Spain, although I do not know how to translate it; if someone knows he/she can leave it in comments– has a post about this sign:

Destructor+La+Meca

A very clear image… So, he says:

Do you imagine this in Europe? We would have to bear thousands of absurd complainings from the friends of the Muslim Humanity. I support the idea of beginning a platform not to let Muslims enter in Saint Places like Rome, Santiago de Compostela, Santiago, Liébana, Valladolid, etc.

I would only announce it, saying that this is a reciprocity matter.

Crispal, from In Partibus Infidelium, writes about Saudi Arabian violations of Human Rights:

A detailed report by the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) on the state of human rights in Saudi Arabia has cited violations of the rights of women, prisoners and workers as well as injustice in law courts, discrimination against non-Saudis and forced confessions from those detained by the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. The report also noted that domestic violence had reached an alarming level.

The 67-page report by the nongovernment body was released two days ago and is the first to be published by a human rights body in Saudi Arabia. It is the result of extensive studies carried out in the Kingdom since the NSHR’s establishment on March 9, 2004.

According to the organization, over the past three years, it has received over 8,570 complaints from citizens and residents.

An NSHR spokesperson said that its report was based on findings related to complaints it had received, reports in the media and reports submitted by foreign human rights organizations. The violations listed in the report were against both local and international treaties which the Kingdom has signed.

Go on reading. It’s ahem, a shame.

And lastly, but not least -there are others, that I would link other day– there is Stuck in Riyahd. He posts about how Spanish -whatever some Catalanists say – soccer team Barça is very famous over there. They have posters of it, but with the crucifix conveniently removed, as Equisese says “for preventing the loyals to Islam from being contaminated”:

Ahmadinejad said that women’s rights were more respected than mens’. Seeing these images we can see that women’s rights are as unrespected as mens’.

Kamangir posts about the reaction this brutality has caused on Iranian bloggers.

Serendip also quotes another Iranian blogger:

The sound of the rod on the body of Iranian children has torn asunder the ears of heaven. But their fathers and mothers are only aloof spectators and pass their days. The heavy shadows of Whips go up and down everyday. And all of us are spectators behind the curtain…Indeed, “nations and people get the government they deserve”.

Keep watching the whips until you feel it palbable on your bodies…and then that day you will realize that it’s too late. Indeed, who is to blame. The oppressor or the victim that accepts the oppression?

I would never blame the victim more than the opressor…

At the same time, the little mermaid in Copenhaguen has appeared with a Muslim veil in her hair. h/t En Defensa de Occidente.

Right with these photos, and to consider the European future, you can see again the program of Channel 4 made with a hidden camera that proofs the extremist Islamist teachings in mosques in UK. I wonder what would happen in Spain if something like that would be done.

But the socalled feminists continue in silence, without protesting against all this violation of Human Rights.

UPDATE: Iran detains 87 homosexuals, 17 are still in prison:

Up to 17 men remain in detention after being arrested at a private party in Esfahan province, central Iran on 10 May. They may have been tortured or ill-treated and remain at risk of such abuse.

Hmmm, where is the worldwide protest about this? If the Catholic Church do not want to marry homosexuals, we have un aproar of rage from the homosexual lobby. But if Iranian ayatollahs imprison and torture people who were just in a party, they say nothing. Once again we can see the double standards of some people….

Riots continue in Paris after Sarkozy wins.

Riots in France produce 270 detained and 367 burned cars.

Radicales Libres: ¿Contra quién va ese elogio? In this post it’s described how Zapatero greeted Sarkozy’s victory:”the leader of the UMP represents an open and modern right able to drive the longing for change in a country which is called to regain the self-confidence“. Hmm, yes, of course, now Sarkozy is a wonderful man, just in case he does not agree with you in immigration and anti-terrorist matters…

Batiburrillo: España-Francia: Aversión y regocijo “Rajoy must take into account that in France has been blown up that false myth of the left is always the winner when the turnout is big. And absurd myth that has never had taken into account the high abstention, for example, of the non-nationalists in the Spanish Autonomous Communities’ elections and in their different statutory referenda”.

» Desde el exilio As the left does not know how to lose, the best thing to do is to send their representatives to the streets to make Royal menaces’ a reality.

Left: the riots in Nantes.

Right: Anti-riot police in La Place de la Concorde.

Anyway, don’t panic: the number of burned carns have not being so abundant as in other nights. The National General Direction of the Police have said that the numbers were not very bigger than the ones burned in the last National Day (July, 14th, 2006) or the ones who are being registered on the Dec. 31st. During the 2005’s riots more than 1000 cars were burned each night.

Sarkozy’s triomph or and hopeful message for all the people who hate the hipocryte left:

Le président Sarkozy est à Malte And Sarkozy is in Malta for relaxing. Looks like he is going to need it, viewing what is waiting for him dans la cité de l’amour.

The Anti-riot police intervened against demonstrators anti-Sarkozy who were breaking glasses near La Bastille, and a lot of them were arrested. In the Chemin vert St., a police charge has permitted to interview some of the demonstrators who had broken more than 40 shops’ glasses.

Blue Star Chronicles: France elects a new President Nicholas Sarkozy and Burns Again.

Publius Pundit has an excellent round-up of blogs.

The ASTUTE BLOGGERS write the Joos win again, about Sarko winning the Presidence.

Gateway Pundit: Sarkozy’s Islamophobia May Be Cause of French Rioting Yes, and they quote the part in which he said that NO BURQA and NO POLIGAMY in France…

[…] they can all point the finger to themselves. They are all to blame, as is their socialist ideology. Socialism has had its day; socialism has brought moral decline, high unemployment rates, weak, unstable economies, huge governments, regulation in just about every area of one’s life; it has caused something called personal responsibility to disappear; it has brought moral relativism; it has learned us that we cannot be proud of our respective country; it has made large groups of people unnecessarily dependent on the government; it has forced us to accept the failed concept of multiculturalism; it has taught us (I mean Europeans in general with that) that whatever you do, you have to be politically correct; it has created an environment in which one is not allowed to name problems, let alone deal with them; it has taught us that criminals are not to blame for their crimes, society as a whole is and that they, therefore, should be coddled instead of punished… oef, the list goes on and on. Socialism has weakened France, and Europe as a whole; it is time to get rid of it.

Bwahhhhhhhhaaaa!!! Le Monde is very, very, very sad and angry after Sarko’s victory.

Summarising: “There is in Sarkozy’s victory, without doubt, a revenge from the right that did not ricognise itself in the 7-year mandate of Giscard d’Estaing, and even less in the 2 terms of Chirac, that they found, very inspired by the Socialist radicalism. That said, this success underlines also the failure of the moral and bien-pensante left”.

If you can understand French just consider the contempt this man has for the right, which is even agressive in the second paragraph cited.

And now, this is the Spanish joke of the Sarko moment: Mr. Zapatero -who supported Ségo and really hates Sarko, who has repeatedly voiced his admiration for the fascist-genocidal-dictatorial-Fraco-ish-…. Aznar- is a jinx for the foreign candidates: He supported Kerry saying he was going to win over Bush, and then Bush won. Then he supported Schröder and this last one lost the elections. Later he called Merkel a failure and she is German President. Later on, he went to support the European Constitution in a meeting with Chirac -when he said “L’Españ voté ui“, instead of “L’Espagne a voté oui” or “Les espagnols ont supporté la Constitution“- and France overwhelmingly voted no: Blog del Movimiento Anti-ZP: ZP sigue siendo un gafe para los candidatos europeos

Sarkozy’s victory is a symptom of what has really changed: A report published by the Spanish Defense Ministry says that the only leaders who could revert he “preogressive decline” of Europe are Merkel and Sarkozy. The report made by the Real Instituto Elcano and the Spanish Institute for Strategis Studies, underlines that Europe now is passing a time of “progressive decline” in which there is no strategic leadership nor leaders who could revert this situation, except German President Merkel and the French just-elected Sarkozy. It also points out that the use of WMD by terrorist groups is “more feasible“, each day that passes.

Lastly, a video. Yes, I know, there are comparisons that are totally hateful and I am sure Zapatero would lose if we compare him with… Tony Blair… I am referring myself to the video Mr Blair has issued for féliciter Monsieur Sarkozy pour sa victoire. With you, Blair, en parlant Français:
